    Hi, I have Server1 Win2008 Storage Server Running DFS Access-based enumeration - off Offline settings - disabled Workstation1 WinXP SP3 32bit Workstation2 WinXP SP2 64bit I have a shared folder on Server1 on the DFS share. Workstation1 can see all files and folders. Workstation2 does not. I have tested with multiple WinXP 64bit PCs and the same files across these machines do not show up. Going directly to the files via the address bar works.

  • How to Connect Firewire Camcorder to Laptop without firewire port

    I Have a Sony Camcorder w/ a 4-pin firewire output. I have HP laptop I want to use it with, but the laptop, does not have a firewire port, just VGA, HDMI, USB, ESATA, Ethernet, and Modem. In addition, It doesn't have a PC Card slot for adding a Firewire card. Googling for "Firewire to USB adapter" returns a lot of hits, but no product that seems to do what I want. I assume I need a USB dongle that gives a firewire port and has drivers so that the PC sees it as a regular firewire port. Thanks for any recommendations

    I have a problem in dvd drive i.e. It can read CD/DVD and can write CD and all CD/DVD-RW but cannot write DVD DVD drive model is SH-S203B Samsung; I also have a log file created by nero burning rom 11. Actually the fact is no Blank DVD's are being read in my dvd drive only previously written dvd's can be read! Is this the problem of OS or should I try cleaning the dvd drive or my DVD drive is 4yrs old so is it going to spoil now, since it is showing this type of symptoms!   • Ghosting context menu clicks in WinXP

    Let me preface by saying I have a lot of windows open most of the time, although not resource intensive ones, just browsers, ssh sessions, a music player, FTP client, Notepad++, IM clkients, etc. Anyway, I get a lot of weird visual "ghosting" type effects. For example when right-clicking and then selecting an option from a context menu the selected item will remain in view until I right click somewhere on the desktop. Same thing happens when selecting items from the File, Edit, etc. menu in various programs. I'm assuming this is just a result of a less than high quality video card (NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200), all the other hardware in the machine is newer higher quality, that specific video card was added after the fact for multiple monitors. I have looked all over the web for solutions and have increased the number of GDI handles for Windows, reduced the hardware accelaration on the card, etc. Any suggestions other than replace the card?

    Hi! When i start my pc i get following message: The Logon User Interface DLL RtlGina2.dll failed to load I found solution here But i ca not log into my pc, neither in safe/normal mode. It is interesting that first time i succeed loging into safe mode, but change msconfig boot.ini to safemode with networking where i can not log in. And now every time no matter what i am choosing from F8 menu, i enter in safe mode with networking(where i get following error). So is it any way to log in back into "pure" safe mode. I am not sure that the question it`s clear enough ;-(

  • Weird problem, special characters coming after formatting the hard drive, computer isn't starting 0_

    Hya friends , Last night my computer was working fine. But today when i came back from college and started it , it was starting fine but after sometime it's getting restarted , again and again getting restarted at different points , so i tried to boot it in safe mode but same problem. Now after all this , i finally decided to format the drive C (it is in 80 GB) and load new OS windows XP3. After formatting (quick format) and loading xp3 sufficient files , when it was getting rebooted for copying the actual os files , it hung and a weird screen came.     I have some computers that I set up a couple years ago by creating a user account, setting it up the way I wanted, and copying that user's directory over Default User's directory. Pretty simple stuff. One of the things that I did was to add a printer and set it as the default. Straightforward, or so I thought. Things have changed, and that printer has been removed and replaced with a different printer. I deleted the old printer's object and added the new one. Now every time a new user logs in, their profile gets copied from Default User, and they get the old printer as their default. This re-adds the old printer object to the system. Now every user can see the old printer's object again. I want to permanently delete Default User's default printer. How?
