  • POST Ajax call results in not found using jqGrid and ASP.NET MVC 2 on IIS6

    This is puzzling me. I deployed an MVC 2 application to IIS6 and everything works fine except for my jqGrid calls to get data. All is well on my development machine, but here are the two URLs I'm working with Local dev web server: POST http://localhost:port/Ctrl.mvc/JsonMethod IIS6 (notice https - not sure if that matters) POST https://www.domain.com/AppName/Ctrl.mvc/JsonMethod The latter URL results in a HTTP 404, which is really confusing as all works well on my local machine. The JsonMethod is properly declared with [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] Let me know if any more info is needed - I appreciate any and all help with this!

    I'm using zend framework. currently everytime I need to use the db I go ahead and connect to the DB: function connect(){ $connParams = array("host" => $host, "port" => $port, "username" => $username, "password" => $password, "dbname" => $dbname); $db = new Zend_Db_Adapter_Pdo_Mysql($connParams); return $db } so I would just call the connect() function everytime I need to use the db My question is...suppose I want to reuse $db everywhere in my site and only connect once in the very initial stage of the site load and then close the connection right before the site gets sent to the user, what would be the best practice to accomplish this? Which file in Zend should I save $db in, what method should I use to save it (global variable?), and which file should I do the connection closing in?

    On a single view I will have three sets of paged data. Which means for each model I will have The Objects The Page Index The Page Size My initial thought was for example: public class PagedModel<T> where T:class { public IList<T> Objects { get; set; } public int ModelPageIndex { get; set; } public int ModelPageSize { get; set; } } Then having a model which is to be supplied to the action as for example: public class TypesViewModel { public PagedModel<ObjectA> Types1 { get; set; } public PagedModel<ObjectB> Typed2 { get; set; } public PagedModel<ObjectC> Types3 { get; set; } } So if I then for example have the Index view inherit from the type: System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage<uk.co.andrewrea.forum.Web.Models.TypesViewModel> Now my initial aciton method for the index is simply: public ActionResult Index() { var forDisplayPurposes = new TypesViewModel(); return View(forDisplayPurposes); } If I then want to page, it is here where I am struggling to decide which action to take. Lets say that I select the next page of the Types2 PageModel. What should the action look like for this in order to return the new view showing the second page of the Types2 PageModel I was thinking possibly to duplicate the action but use it with POST [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Index(TypesViewModel model) { return View(model); } Is this a good way to approach it. I understand there is always Session, but I was just wondering how such a thing is achieved currently out there. If any best methods have been mutually accepted and things. So simply, one page with multiple paged models. How to persist the data for each using a wrapper model. Which way should you pass in the model and which way should you page the data, i.e. Form Post Lastly, I have seen the routes take this into account i.e. {controller}/{action}/{id}/{pageindex}/{pagesize} but this only accounts for one model and I do not really wwant to repeat the pagesize and pageindex values for the number of models I have inside the wrapper model.   • Can't call method in model table class using Doctrine with Zend Framework

    I'm using Doctrine with Zend Framework. For my model, I'm using a base class, the regular class (which extends the base class), and a table class. In my table class, I've created a method which does a query for records with a specific value for one of the fields in my model. When I try and call this method from my controller, I get an error message saying, "Message: Unknown method Doctrine_Table::getCreditPurchases". Is there something else I need to do to call functions in my table class? Here is my code: class Model_CreditTable extends Doctrine_Table { /** * Returns an instance of this class. * * @return object Model_CreditTable */ public static function getInstance() { return Doctrine_Core::getTable('Model_Credit'); } public function getCreditPurchases($id) { $q = $this->createQuery('c') ->where('c.buyer_id = ?', $id); return $q->fetchArray(); } } // And then in my controller method I have... $this->view->credits = Doctrine_Core::getTable('Model_Credit')->getCreditPurchases($ns->id);

  • how to generate large image in compact framework

    I need to generate large images (A4 image at 200 DPI, PNG format would be fine) in my compact framework application. This is impossible to do in standard way due to memory limitations (such big image will throw OOMException). Is there any library which offers file-backed stream image generation? Or I could generate many smaller stripes of images (each stripe representing a row of the large image) using standard Bitmap approach, but I need to merge them together afterwards - is there any method how to merge many smaller images into one large without having to instantiate large Bitmap instance (which would again cause OOM)?

I have few things ( arrays ) i would like to store in Application Object to keep as persistant data for about 2h till AppRecycle Anyhow i know how to set an Application Object variable this way: // One way String[] users = new String[1000]; Application["users"] = users; // Another way Application.Add("users", users); However i do not know how to access these variables once in Application Object there is a Getter method Get however it requires int index and other one Contents which get's everything. Here i try to retrive my String[] array but gives me a error that i am trying to convert Object to String. String[] usersTable = Application["users"]; // Since this is an object i also tried Application.users but gives error

    Which MVC-framework is the best option (performance/ease of development) for a web application, that will have + 2 million visits per week. Basically the site is a search engine,but also there will be large amounts of xml parsing, and high db traffic. We are using Java, over Jboss 4.2.3x, with PG as DB, and Solr for the searches. We were thinking on code JSPs with taglibs, and Servlets, but we were feeling like there would be a better alternative, which don't know yet, as we are starting on the Java Web applications world.     Hello, I have a class with a delegate declaration as follows... Public Class MyClass Public Delegate Function Getter(Of TResult)() As TResult 'the following code works. Public Shared Sub MyMethod(ByVal g As Getter(Of Boolean)) 'do stuff End Sub End Class However, I do not want to explicitly type the Getter delegate in the Method call. Why can I not declare the parameter as follows... ... (ByVal g As Getter(Of TResult)) Is there a way to do it? My end goal was to be able to set a delegate for property setters and getters in the called class. But my reading indicates you can't do that. So I put setter and getter methods in that class and then I want the calling class to set the delegate argument and then invoke. Is there a best practice for doing this. I realize in the above example that I can set set the delegate variable from the calling class...but I am trying to create a singleton with tight encapsulation. For the record, I can't use any of the new delegate types declared in .net35. Answers in C# are welcome. Any thoughts? Seth

  • Best method of Zend Framework caching

    I have a blog built using Zend Framework, which I realize might be a bit overkill for a blog alone, but I am planning on adding other features in the future. Nevertheless, I've noticed pages could be a little speedier. I've done a basic caching method that basically captures everything in index.php (Core frontend and File backend), which works great, but unfortunately it also prevents dynamic page contents from updating (messages like "this was posted 5 minutes ago", etc) until the cache period expires. So my question is what would be the best method of caching to improve performance? I am doing fairly basic queries which are mostly simple selects, not many joins or anything fancy (using Zend_Db_Table), and even on a small database page loads are a little sluggish. Is it worth it to cache queries or should I focus my time elsewhere?

    Here is my code Public Class Form1 Public MyFormObject As Graphics = Me.CreateGraphics Public objFont = New System.Drawing.Font("arial", 20) Public a, b As Integer Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Randomize() For i = 1 To 10 a = CInt(Int(Rnd() * Me.Width)) b = CInt(Int(Rnd() * Me.Height)) MyFormObject.DrawString("text", objFont, System.Drawing.Brushes.Black, a, b) Next End Sub End Class As you can see, I have one button that draws the string "text" randomly in the form 10 times. My problem is that it will ONLY draw the string in the upper-left portion of the form, roughly 260x260 starting at 0,0. It literally cuts off the text if it goes beyond. Why is this? Shouldn't it work for the entire form?

    Hi all, I have been implementing a new project which I have decided to use the repository pattern and Entity Framework. I have sucessfuly implemented basic CRUD methods and I have no moved onto my DeepLoads. From all the examples and documentation I can find to do this I need to call something like this: public Foo DeepLoadFoo() { return (from foobah in Context.Items.Include("bah").Include("foo").Include("foofoo") select foo).Single(); } This doesnt work for me, maybe I am trying to be too lazy but what I would like to achieve would be something along the lines of this: public Foo DeepLoadFoo(Foo entity, Type[] childTypes) { return (from foobah in Context.Items.Include(childTypes).Single(); } Is anything like this possible, or am I stuck with include.include.include.include?     I am using the recess php framework with lighttpd Does anyone know how I can use the shorter urls of: http://www.myserver.com/recess Instead of: http://www.myserver.com/index.php/recess The recess readme file says that if I have mod_rewrite I can use the shorter url: -- "Do you have mod_rewrite? -- Yes: Open your browser to the location you unzipped -- No: Open your browser to the location you unzipped followed by index.php" I do have mod_rewrite enabled on lighttpd and i have removed the index.php but I get a 404. Do I need any special rules in my lighttpd.conf?

The problem here is lblEmpl.Visible=true never gets hit because this code doesnt cause a postback to the server. Even if I put the line of code lblEmpl.Visible=true at the top of the click event the line executes fine, but the page is never updated. How can I fix this?

What i am doing wrong? The event on this button need to just same as event on standard Word save button, so how i can do this?
