  Hi, it is possible to do a request for another page on internet from page_load? I mean if it is possible to aquire markup code with informations from another page and display them on my aspx site? • video player for HTML 5 page not loading

  I'm using VideoJS to as my video player for a project I've been working on. Basically I have a div, and I wanted to have the video player within that div, however when I load the page nothing happens, and the video is never played. In fact, the video is never loaded nor shown in the page. I basically copied the example from VideoJS' page. • Set default page to virtual directory in IIS 6

  I have two applications, one of which is a store and is located under the virtual directory "store", while the main "application" is the parent website/application. However, when visiting the the top-level website address, I would like to start people in /store/default.aspx (technically "/store/home") but this is not allowed in the entry box in IIS. Currently I am doing the redirect manually in code, but was wondering if there was a way to do this in IIS or something. Thanks for any help.

  Hey! I'm creating a Silverlight 4 Out Of Browser application. I have my MainPage that will be the "central" application. I want to be able to display another Control next to the MainPage, by using a Popup and I want it to be displayed right next to the MainPage. How can I get the coordinates of the upper right corner of the MainPage at each moment? (Beware that this MainPage can be moved all over the screen and hence I will need to dynamically get the corner coordinates, in order to display my popup right next to the main window).   What I'm trying to do: Connect to the internet without registering But! Here's my problem: I can't connect. I used to be able to, now when I try to connect it says "Server not found." I can connect just fine on my other Laptop. I did a test as well. I used a LAN USB adapter and could connect fine, then now I can't connect again. Possibly because I am using uTorrent to download stuff, but I want to connect again Is there anyway I can use some sort of "virtual adapter"-type of connection where it masks my actual adapter? How can I connect to the connection without having to buy more and more Network USB Adapters? Thanks much!

  I realize that it's generally not a good idea to do this but the reason why I want to is because it's a really heavy page and I want to show the user progress of the download and when it's done load the page. I can either do this with some kind of spinner but is it possible for me to show the actual progress? Can I see how much and what data has been downloaded? Let's say I use jQuery for the AJAX-request how do I do this? If you have other suggestions please feel free to suggest.

  I am using jQuery to point a form's target to an iframe on .submit(). This is to upload a file. It works fine, but when the page reloads, and the iframe is appended to the DOM, the iframe automatically resubmits the form, causing the same file to be sent to the server on each page load. If I do not include the iframe in the HTML markup, or do not append it to the DOM, this doesn't happen, but of course, I need the iFrame. So my question is, how can i prevent this? :) Andrew

  Hey, I am onto a task in which i have to create a link in a doccument library either upload or new link,clicking on which a form/page "not infopath" will get open and allow to upload the doccument and along with that we have some text boxes on the same page which will be asking for the properties of the doccument(like "Customer of the doccument","content Developer") and after filling up all of the things when user click on submit than in the doccument library the value of the url as well as properties comes into the columns/fields of the doccument library. • Getting All categories in external page.

  This is very basic magento question i guess. I want to first get all the store categories, then loop through them to get their sub-categories and products and similarly continue till the last sub-category. I will be using this in an external page having Mage::app() declared at the top of the page. I am not aware of the Magento API's(if thats wat they are called) to use to get this functionality. Remember I am not using this in any of the templates, so something like getCurrentCategory() will not work here i guess. Also please guide if there are any good resources to search for particular functionality in magento and API's to implement it, or am i doomed to go through their phpdoc to know the list of methods. Any help here will be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

  Basically all pages on this site I am building cannot be accessed when the user clicks on "Back" (or with key control) in the browser, and the page should expire if one is trying to navigate back in history. I put into Global.asax::Application_BeginRequest Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.NoCache) Response.Cache.SetExpires(DateTime.UtcNow.AddDays(-1)) Response.Cache.SetValidUntilExpires(False) Response.Cache.SetRevalidation(HttpCacheRevalidation.AllCaches) Response.Cache.SetNoStore() This would clear out the cache and disallow going back to any pages when the user is logged out, but doesn't do the job while the user is logged in. I saw posts where people suggested using a javascript approach, by calling History.Forward(1) on the page. But I wouldn't like to do this, as it will require javascript enabled to work (which user can disable). Appreciate any suggestions.

• Get file size of BufferedImage before writing the data

  I'm working on a Java program that needs to send an image (preferably in PNG format, though I could perhaps use another format if necessary) over the network. The logical way to do this is, of course, to first send the length of the PNG image data, then the data itself. Problem: I don't see any method in ImageIO or anywhere else that will give me the length of the image data. Does this exist somewhere in the Java 1.6 standard library? I know I could just write it to a ByteArrayOutputStream and get the length of the resulting array, but before resorting that I wanted to make sure I'm not missing something built in. And besides, that makes an extra copy of the image data, which I'd rather not do if it's not necessary.

  Hi, I'm learning ASP.NET MVC 1.0 and need to implement an asynchronous/dynamic page update. I'm new to MVC and jQuery so I'm not sure what to look for. What I want to do is to allow a user to start a monitoring a domain layer function (similar to a news ticker) and then do a partial page update based on the continously changing results. In ASP.NET I'd do this with a javascript timer to cause a postback, and an AJAX update panel..... but this seems a bit "hacky" for ASP.NET MVC. Is there a better way?

  Hi guys, I wrote a Flex application that sends a UrlRequest to Facebook and gets the content of page as a string. The application user clicks a button, and the application connects to Facebook. And no I do not mean using Facebook API. It is like a screen scraper. This application worked locally, but when deployed to server it gives a sandbox security error. I have my crossdomain.xml on the root, but I think the problem is not that. Not only Facebook, but I cannot get any web site when the application is deployed on server. What should I do to get the content of a remote web page?

  When viewing the admin change list for a model, is it possible to make the columns that correspond to foreign keys links to their respective pages? A simple example is I have a Foo object which contains Bar as a foreign key. If I'm viewing the admin change list for Foo (and have it set to include Bar in the display_list columns), the main column would link to the Foo instance's edit page while the Bar column would link to the Boo instance's edit page. I understand I can override the template that's used, but I was curious if there was a solution that didn't require that.

  Hi, I have this PHP piece of code that gets $_GET['id'] (a number) and do some stuff with this. When its finished I need to increase that number ($_GET['id']) and redirect to the same page but with the new number (also using $_GET['id']). I am doing something like this: $ID = $_GET['id']; // Some stuff here // and then: $newID = $ID++; header('Location: http://localhost/something/something.php?id='.$newID); exit; The problem here is that the browser stop me from doing it and I get this error from the browser (Firefox) : "The page isn't redirecting properly. Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete." Some help here please!

• Database (and ORM) choice for an small-medium size .NET Application

  I have a requirement to develop a .NET-based application whose data requirements are likely to exceed the 4 gig limit of SQL 2005 Express Edition. There may be other customers of the same application (in the future) with a requirement to use a specific DB platform (such as Oracle or SQL Server) due to in-house DBA expertise. Questions What RDBMS would you guys recommend? From the looks of it the major choices are PostGreSQL, MySQL or FireBird. I've only got experience of MYSQL from these. Which ORM tool (if any) would you recommend using - ideally one that can be swapped out between DB platforms with minimal effort? I like the look of the entity framework but unsure as to the degree to which platforms other than SQL Server are supported. If it helps, we'll be using the 3.5 version of the Framework. I'm open to the idea of using a tool such as NHibernate. On the other hand, if it's going to be easier, I'm happy to write my own stored procedures / DAL code - there won't be that many tables (perhaps 30-35).

  An inexperienced PHP question: I've got a PHP script file that I need to include on different pages lots of times in lots of places. I have the option of either breaking the included file down into several smaller files and include these on a as-needed basis... OR ... I could just keep it all together in a single PHP file. I'm wondering if there's any performance impact of using a larger vs. smaller file for include() in this context? For example, is there any performance difference between a 200KB file and a 20KB file? Thank you.
