• How do I make exchange forward email to a non-exchange mail server (postfix on mac)?

  Hi, I'm not sure what I'm doing. Exchange has been working a long time. I just installed a mac mail server postfix/dovecot. They both work but not together. If I send email directly to the new server with [email protected], I can send email to the Internet and I can receive email at the [email protected]. But, if I log onto my exchange account with OWA and I put in [email protected] I never receive it and I never get any errors back in OWA or on my mac server logs. It just disappears. On the mac, I thought that as long as I had mail running and had SMTP set to allow incoming email checked it would receive email from anywhere. How can I make my Exchange server send email to the mac box if the email doesn't exist in the exchange server? Is this where I would put a new SMTP connector and a bridgehead using DNS? Thank you for any help.

  Possible Duplicate: How to make domain point to another web directory? My boss just bought the domain: sergiotapia.me for me, and agree'd the host my Wordpress blog on company servers. We're using Apache (latest version). The domain is purchased on NameCheap.com and the DNS settings are as follows: And when I visit my URL, it's getting redirected to my VPS server without problems. The thing is, I want my blog to appears at once, not have a user select the folder and then see the blog. My Wordpress blog is located at: /var/www/sergiotapia.me On IIS, you would need to edit the Bindings and map a domain to an application. I'm guessing I have to do something similar on Apache. What am I looking for here? Any tips on getting this working correctly?

  Hi Got a new router yesterday (due to new internet supplier) and now all my requests for my own server (local lan) is routed directly to the router instead of the server, when using dns. Ex. I have a website www.mysite.org running on my server at home (local lan). From work I can access it via www.mysite.org, which is great. But from home (local lan) my request's for www.mysite.org gets rerouted to the routers web admin interface My last router didn't do this. My new router is a Zyxel P-2602HW-1DA, my old one was a LinkSys WRT-54GC V. 2.0. There's a rather wierd WAN-LAN, WAN-WAN setup interface which I cant really comprehend yet and the docs are rather vague. Have anyone had the same problem and can anyone guide me to a solution, would nice not write the ip address everytime i need to access the server on local lan. :). Kind regards Garrett

• iPhone Cannot log into WiFi suddenly [closed]

  I suddenly get into this strange problem. My iPhone has been using the WiFi setup at my home for more than a year. Suddenly it cannot connect to the internet despite still having the full WiFi signal icon. Have an older iPhone 3 GS and it can still browse the net using the same WiFi. So the wireless router should be working. When I check the non-functioning iPhone, it has the "Router" and the "DNS" entries blank while the functioning iPhone has entries on both of the fields. Also the subnet Mask are different. Please help.

  This worked in Leopard, although since Snowie came along … I have a Location setup with a DNS server to use [eg 10.0.0.17] , and a search string [eg sub.dom.ain.com] In the terminal: $ nslookup cake Server 10.0.0.17 Address: 10.0.0.17#53 Name: cake.sub.dom.ain.com Address: 10.0.0.38 So works like a charm. Although if I just the hostname cake in any other application within OSX - such as Safari/CoRD, they simply can't resolve the hostname. I have to instead use the FQDN cake.sub.dom.ain.com - why is this so? Why did this work in Leopard and is now broken? Would love a solution. Thanks

• Traceroutes to every site includes nameintelligence.com

  I used domaintools.com to do a traceroute on a bunch of sites, and noticed that every single one leads to this "nameintelligence.com" site that I have never heard of. Absolutely every site, including this one, google, my own site, yahoo, microsoft.com, stackoverflow, EVERYTHING, has nameintelligence.com in the first position. What is that site, and what do they do? They're a PR 4 apparently, yet I have never heard of them. I think this would be the right place to ask, I am sorry if I am wrong.   So here is my situation. I have this 2 DNS (say a.org and b.org) with the same IP address (both A record) tied to this box. We have Google mail handing our a.org emails . I want b.org emails to forward to users at a.org emails . My sendmail is getting confused and is delivering all b.org emails locally instead of forwarding them to a.org (which is specified in the .forward) . • Windows 2003 shutdown instead of reboot

  Hi all, I've got a very strange problem. On the net I can only find problems with Server 2003 pc's, that reboot instead of shutting down, but in my case... (go figure) it does the opposite. When I choose to reboot, the system shutdown. Yes I am sure I used the reboot button. It happens via start == reboot and it happens when clicking on the reboot button when the update's have been installed. Nothing changed to the system's hardware. Only update's have been installed on the system. I did notice something odd in the logs when rebooting: Description: Timed out sending notification of target device change to window of "C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE" KB: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/924390 They talk about a removable drive, but in my case, it's explorer.exe :s it appears 4 times.   I can access my local dev site on my local pc, eg: http://mysite But I cannot access the live site, even though it works fine on other pc's: http://www.mysite.com The live site gives the error in Firefox: Server Not Found. • Error setting up Data Protection Manager 2010 Agents / Network "Unauthenticated" in network settings

  I'm not sure if the two are connected but i suspect they are. Basically I'm tring to setup Data Protection Manager 2010 on a fresh install of Server 2008 R2 in a SBS 2003 domain. Everything went fine until trying to install agents across the network. Upon clicking add, i get the following error message: Unable to connect to the Active Directory Domain Services Database. Make sure that the DPM server is a member of a domain and that the controller is running. Also verify that there is network connectivity between the DPM server and the domain controller. ID: 7 As usual (worryingly) the MSDN support for 2010 products is nearly non existant, clicking the error ID simply gives a page not found error. So after 2 days of Googling and trying various fixes (DNS settings, adding permissions to GPO objects, rejoining the domain and many more) I thought I'd ask here in the hope that someone out there may have had this issue before. Any help greatly appreciated!

• ADFS 2.0 and WebEx

  We have a brand new deployment going on, where our University has purchased WebEx MeetingPlace. We have the Cisco CallManager component working, but the integration with Single Sign On with ADFS 2.0 has been nothing short of torture. The biggest problem I'm working with is that we use Split-Brain DNS, and our internal domain name versus external domain name is different. Trying to determine what credentials are getting passed back and forth, certificate errors for using the self-signed certificate, etc. Does anyone have any experience with this, or something similar? Do you have any tips, or watch-out-for-this, etc.? I've not worked with a Federated Authentication system before, and this scenario is very black-box-esque. Sorry, I'm also partially ranting as I'm frustrated.

  Is there a way of adding GLUE for the Google Apps MX records. I have added them all and it works fine, but in all the DNS tools I see that there is no glue sent. I know that this is not a really big problem, because the gain you get out of it is next to zero. Nevertheless I just wanted to know if it is possible and how you do it. Or if it is not possible, what is the reason for it. I have asked this question also on the Google Help Forum but with no responses so far, so I thought i'd give it a shot here.

• Asterisk: Forcing a sip peer to connect via ipv6?

  I've got an asterisk server that connects to an upstream provider over a WAN. The upstream provider supports both IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity, and the asterisk server is behind a NAT. When asterisk connects to the upstream sip peer via IPv6, everything works perfectly. The issue I have is that when I configure the asterisk server IPv6 address via DHCPv6, a race condition means that asterisk sometimes ends up attempting to contact the upstream peer via IPv4 (the SIP DNS name has both A and AAAA records). This is because asterisk starts up before the system has a valid IPv6 address. The connection does not work via IPv4 because of the NAT. Is there a way of configuring the peer to specify that it should only be contactable over IPv6? I guess it might be possible to hack together a firewall rule to deny all IPv4 traffic to that IP, but it'd be easier to configure this within asterisk itself.

  Hi I’m running in Windows Small Server 2011 server standard (192.168.1.108), it’s my dhcp and dns server too, but suddenly all other users can’t get internet. My gateway is 192.168.1.1. After a lots of tested I can saw that my server can’t get into the router (192.168.1.1), and also into some others computers, but some other computers answer the ping command. In fact the same computer with the IP 192.168.1.9 didn't answer, but with the IP 192.168.1.63, it response! I have no routers, firewall, vlans or anything that disallow the traffic between computers, in fact when I changed the server IP address (192.168.1.109), I be able to ping the other computers and gateway, but if a back to the 192.168.1.108 the trouble comeback. • Removing Exchange 2010 and SBS2011 gracefully after migration to Server 2008 Std R2

  We have recently completed a server replacement for a customer. They had SBS2011 using Exchange 2010. They now have Server 2008 Std R2 and Google Apps email. We have migrated the DHCP, DNS, Filserver and all 5 FSMO roles to the new 2008 R2 server (today). During the grace period for SBS2011 we intend to decomission the old server completely. Previous experience would suggest uninstalling Exchange 2010 then demote SBS2011 then remove from the domain and switch off. Can I simply demote SBS2011 without removing Exchange? Can't really find any walkthroughs on this. My concern is that if we simply turn off SBS2011 the AD is left in a mess with legacy Exchange objects making any potential reintroduction of Exchange difficult in future, plus I want to do it the right way!

• Firewall issue with multiple SIP PROXY / REGISTRAR servers

  Hi We have a pair of Internet-facing SIP PROXY/REGISTRAR servers (for resilienced and load-balancing). When a SIP phone registers, it will be handled by one of the REGISTRAR servers (round-robin DNS) - and since this registration is renewed, the firewall port/address translation is maintained. Therefore, when a call is to be sent back to the phone the INVITE message passes successfully through the firewall. However, it is likely that the phone may register with one of the two servers, but the INVITE may come from the other. In this situation, the call fails since there is no translation in place on the firewall. Is there a feature in the SIP protocol to facilitate this? Any other ideas? As our traffic grows, we will no doubt end-up with more than two servers - so the problem will escalate. Thanks, Mike

  We just signed up with a new ISP and we got a static IP from them. Our previous ISP just gave one IP and we were able to configure our web server using that. Now, we have got this new IP with a slash notation. This type is new to me. When I used the CIDR calculator, it gave me the following results: 202.184.7.52/30 IP: 202.184.7.52 Netmask: 255.255.255.252 Number of hosts: 2 Network address: 202.184.7.52 Broadcast address: 202.184.7.55 Can someone please help me by explaining what these are? I could not understand what the number of hosts means. Is that telling that I can use two different IP for DNS (A) records? Also, which one should I setup in my router? • Apache2: Trying to map a subdomain to a subdirectory

  So basically I want to have: sub.domain.com/anything - domain.com/asub/anything I'm a bit new to this and a bit confused. The first thing I did was configure my DNS settings so sub.domain.com goes to domain.com using a CNAME (would an A record and the IP be better?) Next I went into my VirtualHost file and have: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} www.(.+) [NC] RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://domain.com/$1 [R] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^sub.domain.com RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://domain.com/asub/$1 [R] So the first rule is meant to handle www. and making sure that is caught correctly and it works. The second rule is what I've added for the subdomain mapping and it doesn't seem to be doing anything

• Amazon EC2 SQL Server Connection

  I have two instances running on Amazon AWS EC2. One is running MSSQL Server 2005, the other is running a web application. I CAN connect to the database in my app using a connection string that references the Public IP of my EC2 instance running SQL Server. I CANNOT connect from the web app server if I change the connection string to reference the database servers Private IP Address. But I can connect if I run that same code on the database server itself. I can remote desktop from the app server to the database server using the private IP. I have a feeling there is something in my SQL Sever configuration that is preventing this remote connection. I have remote connections enabled, I have it set to listen on all IP addresses. Any ideas? Generated the cert from SLES11 then import it to SCOM, and use scxcertconfig -sign to refresh the cert, and back it to SLES11.(I restart the scxadmin on SLES11, and reboot the SCOM ) 5. • Forwarding emails from a domain

  I generally use Google Apps to handle email domains. I'm unfortunately stuck in an infinite loop with Google [1] for one the domains I recently picked up. Right now I use Zerigo's awesome DNS services. How can I get [email protected] forwarded to my Gmail account? Better yet if this is a free/cheap solution and can work with multiple aliases going to different real email addresses ([email protected] - [email protected], [email protected] - [email protected]) [1] Long story. I alternate between "Sorry, you've reached a login page for a domain that isn't using Google Apps." and "This domain has already been registered with Google Apps." Seems like many others are having this issue and Google isn't doing anything about it.
