• Context menu not firing when clicking on a line in a MovieClip

  Question: In Flash AS3, I have a furniture movieclip (converted from CAD) in another movieclip [to crop the border]. My first problem was that it didn't fire onclick at all. So I had to draw a background, and it started working when I did not click on a CAD drawing line. Then I checked mousevent.target for classname, and if it was not CustomMovieClip, I took object.parent.parent. That worked for onclick. But now I seem to have a similar problem with the contextmenu. When I right-click anywhere, I get the contextmenu, but the context menu event-handler doesn't fire if I right-clicked on a CAD line (but it works if I right-click on the background)... The problem now is it doesn't fire, so I can't take target.parent.parent.

• Ruby: wait for system command to end

  Hey all, I'm converting an xls 2 csv with a system(command) in ruby. After the conversion i'm processing this csv files. But the conversion is still going when the program wants to process the files. So at that time they are non existant. Can someone tell me if it's possible to let Ruby wait the right amount of time for the system command to finish? Right now i'm using sleep 20 but if it will take longer once, it isn't right of course... Thanks!

• align h1 before and after background

  I have image before and after h1. However, I need to position it as following: h1 text should be in the center h1 before image should start at the left side of container h1 after image should end at the right side of container I cannot get all of them. For example, I can center h1 text, but then h1 before and h1 after images are not aligned correctly. • How to force positioned elements to stay withing viewable browser area?

  I have a script which inserts "popup" elements into the DOM. It sets their top and left css properties relative to mouse coordinates on a click event. It works great except that the height of these "popup" elements are variable and some of them extend beyond the viewable area of the browser window. I would like to avoid this. • nested columns in compass/sass

  I've been studying compass and while it is a fun thing to play with and use, one thing bothers me(besides being unable to add padding as it wrecks the grid), how do I nest columns? I want to be able to do what blueprint does: nest containers like say, I have a 24-column page divided in two(17 and 7 columns). In the right part of that page(the one with 7 columns), I want to divided some elements into two(2 and 5 columns). I tried this: #main +container #main-content +column(17) +box-padding(17, 10px) :margin :right 0 #sidebar +column(7, true) +box-padding(7, 10px) That's the code for the main page. The sidebar contains a list with some labels and input fields li +container :margin :bottom 5px label +column(2) :margin :right 0 input +column(5, true) It kinda works, but inspecting the li in firebug shows that it's width is actually 950px as opposed to be just 270px since it is just 7 columns. I tried googling about nested columns but I can't seem to find any example in compass. I've also tried the wiki and the documentation to no avail.

After right-clicking to deselect the toolbar (I was testing something) I cannot find a way to reinstate them. Since the toolbar is enabled by right clicking on the toolbar area, when it's disabled, it's not obvious how to reenable it. When I do this, it just gets stuck in a "busy" state, and I can't access the MySQL database. It's supposed to be a specialization of the template function std::swap, but I can't tell whether the compiler is seeing it as such, or whether it thinks that it's an overload of it or something.

• Jquery selectors question

  Hi all, I am not an expert at jquery but trying to get a menu to work. Basically, I have a menu made of up to 3 levels of nested lists. The first level has a little arrow has a background image that opens or close when opening the first level list. Any other nested lists don't need to have the background image. My script opens the menu when you click on it and is also supposed to switch the first level list from a class "inactive" to a class "active". Here is the script: $(document).ready(function(){ $("#left-navigation-holder ul.level1 li.inactive").toggle(function(){ $(this).addClass("active"); }, function () { $(this).removeClass("active"); }); $("#left-navigation-holder li a").click(function(){ menu = $(this).parent('li').children('ul'); menu.toggle(); }); }); The problem is that the toggle function also happens when clicking on second and third level lists causing the arrows to toggle even if the first level list isn't clicked on. I thought using $("#left-navigation-holder ul.level1 li.inactive").toggle would limit the function to the first level list with a class "inactive". Any help would be really appreciated. Ben

• Getting WAP embedded video in android AND iphone?

  Recently a client asked me to make their site "work on smart phones", which normally wouldn't be too much of an issue... However it's a video site, and I have absolutely no idea where to even begin. Right off the bat I'm not even going to consider allowing the site to even function in anything other than Android (Maybe even 2.0+) and iPhone, maybe Blackberry and WinMo. But beyond that... What do I do? I'm looking at using the tag, however I'm unsure what, if any, codecs which phone uses. Is HTML5 even adopted in their browsers yet? Could someone please point me in the right direction? Am I going about this the right way, using the tag? Or is there some magical html element both iPhone and Android (And BB and WMo) that lets them run video in their native video players (Like on youtube).

• IE7: container of hidden Div displays incorrectly

  There is a search box div that contains a boxhead div and a boxbody div. Inside the boxbody div, there is a searchToggle div. When the user clicks a certain link on the page, the display style property of the searchToggle div is toggled between block and none. The 2 background-images for the body of the search box are set via the css of the searchBox div and the boxbody div. In IE7, when the searchToggle div is hidden, the background-image from the searchBox div extends on the left more than it should. It shows up correctly when the display of the searchToggle div is block. Everything show up correctly, in both cases in IE8 and FF. Any ideas why this is happening?   Hi all! I'm working on a small project in regards of the upcoming World Cup. I'm building a roster/leaderboard/scoredboard based on groups with national teams. The idea is to have information on all upcoming matches within the group or in the knockout phase (scores, time of the match, match stats etc.). Currently I'm stuck with the DB in that I can't come up with a query that would return paired teams in a row.   Hy guys, I've a problem with IExplorer, Chrome, Safari etc.. The HAND font it's the problem. Moreover, IExplorer don't take any customs write in css (color, font-size, align..)   Hello all, I'm using Windows Vista, and I was wondering if I can put shortcuts for applications.Like for example, if I press a certain combination of keys I get notepad, or something like that. • Coupling an MFC CListCtrl and CTreeCtrl to get a view of the whole tree, not just one node at a time

  Consider Windows Explorer (or regedit or similar). To the left side, there is a tree view, and to the right, a list view. In all cases I know of, the contents of the right view reflect the attributes of the selected node from the left pane. This is all well and good... but just not what I want. The nodes of the tree I want to display have a very few attributes (2-3) associated with each node - a reasonable amount to display horizontally as a row in a table. Rather than waste all that list view space on a single node with very few properties, I would like to have my list view display a table of the whole tree's properties (as the part of the tree currently expanded). So the nth line in the left view (tree) will correspond directly to the nth line in the right view (list/table), and I will get a decent overview of the properties of my tree. Does anyone know of code that does this? I am guessing that slaving a CListCtrl to a CTreeCtrl would be the way to go, and somehow overriding the vertical scrolling functions so that they are locked together. I'm just not sure that it is possible to lock the scrolls together like this... among other things! All advice gratefully welcomed :-)
