  • I can't build C# class library by MonoDevelop on Mac OS X

    When building following simple C# class library, using System; namespace MyProject { public class MyClass { public MyClass () { } } } I encountered following error message: /Library/Frameworks/Mono.framework/Versions/2.6.4/lib/mono/2.0/Microsoft.Common.targets: Error: You must specify DestinationFolder or DestinationFiles attribute. at Microsoft.Build.Tasks.Copy.Execute () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 Anyone having the same problem? Somethig I tried: This error is solved if I change my project file format "MSBuild (Visual Studio 2008)" to "MonoDevelop 1.0" (Preferences Load/Save Project file format to use when creating new projects) There is no problem when building console app project. Only library project is the problem. There is no problem on Ubuntu and SUSE My Environments: MonoDevelop 2.2.2 Mono 2.6.4 Mac OS X 10.6.3

  • Eclipse + Git: Can't add files to my repository

    I use Eclipse (Helios) with PDT and egit. I have a project without versioning, so I created a git repository for it by doing: Team -> Share Project When I try to add the files of my project to the repository: Team -> Add I get an exception: Failed to add resource to index Failed to add resource to index Exception caught during execution of add command When I add the files manually on the command line, everything is working fine. Any ideas? EDIT: The error eclipse gives is: Caused by: org.eclipse.jgit.errors.ObjectWritingException: Unable to create new object: Z:\eage_layout\.git\objects\60\f30dd232bd6ddaeb198fb11400c2613a072189 at org.eclipse.jgit.storage.file.ObjectDirectoryInserter.insert(ObjectDirectoryInserter.java:100) at org.eclipse.jgit.api.AddCommand.call(AddCommand.java:177) The code I'm running is located on a virtual machine running on CentOs. I'm working on a windows machine and using a samba share to get access to the code on the virtual machine. I've put the filesystem permissions on my .git directory to 777, but still it does not work.

  • Cannot run code on device

    Hi I have some source code which I had developed and later gave to another team. They signed it with their certificate and provisioning profile. Now I have the code back and have set the appropriate values in the project properties for code signing identity (with my cert and profile). But when I run the application on a device, I get an error showing the other team's certificate and prompting that the provisioning profile does not exist. I don't know where it is being referenced. Can someone please help. Thanks.

    System.IO.Path in .NET is notoriously clumsy to work with. In my various projects I keep encountering the same usage scenarios which require repetitive, verbose and thus error-prone code snippets that use Path.Combine, Path.GetFileName, Path.GetDirectoryName, String.Format, etc. Scenarios like: changing the extension for a given file name changing the directory path for a given file name building a file path using string formatting (like "Package{0}.zip") building a path without resorting to using hard-coded directory delimiters like \ (since they don't work on Linux on Mono) etc etc Before starting to write my own PathBuilder class or something similar: is there a good (and proven) open-source implementation of such a thing in C#?

    I have the following tables in the database: teams: id name matches: id team1_id team2_id I've defined the following ORM models in my Kohana application: class Match_Model extends ORM { protected $belongs_to = array('team1_id' => 'team', 'team2_id' => 'team'); } class Team_Model extends ORM { protected $has_many = array('matches'); } The following code in a controller: $match = ORM::factory('match',1); echo $match->team1_id->name; /* <-- */ Is throwing the following error on the linke marked with /* <--- */: Trying to get property of non-object The framework is yielding the value of the foreign key instead of a reference to a Match_Model instance as it should (giving the has_many and belongs_to properties stated). Am I missing something? Note: Just in case, I've added the irregular plural 'match' => 'matches' in application/config/inflector.php

    This topic has been covered peripherally in bits and pieces in some of the other pair-programming questions, but I want to (a) consolidate this knowledge into a separate question, and, most importantly, (b) go into much more depth on the subject. From the perspective of being an effective manager, how should pairs be arranged for pair programming to maximize both the happiness and productivity of the overall team? Some ideas to get started: Should two people never be paired (because of personalities, for example)? How much overlap in skillsets is needed? How much disconnect in skillsets is too much to overcome? (No two people will overlap 100%, and a disconnect in skills can be very beneficial to both people.) Should everyone pair with everyone else on a fixed/rotating basis? Should certain pairs be arranged to accomplish specific tasks? How important a role does HR play when growing or reorganizing the team?

  • Is `hg pull --rebase` analogous to `svn update`?

    This question assumes there's a "blessed" central repository that members of a team clone from push to when they have contributions that they want other team members to see pull from when they want to see other people's contributions. etc. If so, I would assume hg update is not analogous to svn update (why would there be two commands that do exactly the same thing?). From what I can gather, hg update more like svn revert. Is that correct?     Hi guys - I'm working on a basic google applications based system. Like I earlier defined I'm building a simple ordering system and to each order placed I attach a file or document. I would like to be able to set it such that whatever file I upload is uploaded into google docs and I somehow am able to maintain a reference to that file from my own application i.e these files are concerned with such and such order. My application is google application based hopefully and I'm building it to be such for later on deployment into the cloud. How do I start on this and what do I need to do? Are there already working widgets I can use and apply or would I need to create my own customised solution for this? I'm working in Php MySQL.

  • Continous integration with .net and svn

    We're currently not applying the automated building and testing of continous integration in our project. We haven't bothered this far as we're only 2 developers working on it, but even with a team of 2 I still think it would be valuable to use continous integration and get a confirmation that our builds don't break or tests start failing. We're using .Net with C# and WPF. We have created Python-scripts for building the application - using MSbuild - and for running all tests. Our source is in SVN. What would be the best approach to apply continous integration with this setup? What tool should we get? It should be one which doesn't require alot of setup. Simple procedures to get started and little maintanance is a must.

  • How to write a linter?

    In my day job I, and others on my team write a lot of hardware models in Verilog-AMS, a language supported primarily by commercial vendors and a few opensource simulator projects. One thing that would make supporting each others code more helpful would be a LINTER that would check our code for common problems and assist with enforcing a shared code formatting style. I of course want to be able to add my own rules and, after I prove their utility to myself, promote them to the rest of the team.. I don't mind doing the work that has to be done, but of course also want to leverage the work of other existing projects. Does having the allowed language syntax in a yacc or bison format give me a leg up? or should I just suck each language statement into a perl string, and use pattern matching to find the things I don't like? (most syntax and compilation errors are easily caught by the commercial tools.. but we have some of our own extentions.)

    I'm using SproutCore and going through the Todos tutorial on http://wiki.sproutcore.com/Todos+06-Building+with+Rails. SproutCore and Rails use different names for the primary key on a model (Sproutcore = 'guid', Rails = 'id'). The tutorial gives directions to Adjust Rails JSON output, but in my app that I'm planning on building, I cannot do this because sproutcore is only one of a couple interfaces used to interact with the Rails app. As an alternate option, the tutorial gives the following directions: Option 2: Set primaryKey in your Sproutcore model class You can subclass SC.Record and set the primaryKey of your sublcass to "id". Your Todo- Object then needs to extend from e.g. App.Rails.Record. App.Rails.Record = SC.Record.extend({ primaryKey : "id" // Extend your records from App.Rails.Record instead of SC.Record. }); Where should I subclass SC.Record (i.e. in what file) such that it is properly read and included?

As I am trying to run one of the samples in the simulator (5.0.0.469, Storem 2 9550) When I run the BB widget, I got the following in the eclipse console, but I could not find the .cod file to be loaded to the simulator.     Anyone had success installing and using PySide on OSX? I am following the install instructions on the PySide site, though I'm running into issues building the API Extractor. I run cmake on the CMakeLists.txt file inside the api extractor dir and: This error is thrown- CMake Error at /Applications/CMake 2.8-0.app/Contents/share/cmake-2.8/Modules/FindBoost.cmake:894 (message): Unable to find the requested Boost libraries. Unable to find the Boost header files. Please set BOOST_ROOT to the root directory containing Boost or BOOST_INCLUDEDIR to the directory containing Boost's headers. Call Stack (most recent call first): CMakeLists.txt:5 (find_package) I am new to building source w/ cmake and I'm not event really sure what Boost is.     For our CMS we have a site manager that defines the site's tree structure (sitemap if you want to call it that). A possible url is www.example.com/our-team/developers/chris/ which would map in the tree structure to the node chris, child old developers which is in turn a child of out-team. All this is in place and working the the wonderfully implemented Nested Set behavior in doctrine. The only thing is that i'm struggling to get it working in the front end of our website. By default Zend framework's request object expects controller/action/key/value/key/value/... URI scheme but that isn't quite fitting my needs, i would like to skip the whole controller, action and key part and restrict to values. Something like value1/value2/value3/value4/... Anyone has an idea how to accomplish this?

  • Creating an iphone book application

    I have some experience creating iphone applications and would now like to create an iphone book application. Browsing the Book category in iTunes it seems to there is a standard format for building these apps, however, googling for how to build an iphone book app produces no useful results. This type of application is also not addressed in any of the iphone development books I've seen. Is there a standard method fot building these book applications? Or is it simply copying the text is some format (pdf, txt, html?) and then writing a document handling api? It seems there already must exist apis for doing this. Can anyone point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance!
