    I had created entity in google app engie datastore using JPA.I set the id as follows @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy=GenerationType.SEQUENCE) private Long s; After i deployed my applicaiton it give identity (i.e) unique value.but igive 1001,1002,1003 ....as id.But i wnat 1,2,3,4,5 like that.how to achive this?     I have a report that we need to link (which we've checked to be working) to in a JSF project, the link looks like the following: http://www.example.com/report/summary&rs:Command=Render However when we try to load the page that links to it we get the following error: The reference to entity "rs:Command" must end with the ';' How can I link to the report within my pages and prevent it from trying to parse the rs:Command?

  • Restrict the class of an association in a Hibernate Criteria query

    I have an object, 'Response' that has a property called 'submitter'. Submitters can be one of several different classes including Student, Teacher, etc... I would like to be able to execute a criteria query where I select only responses submitted by teachers - so this means putting a class restriction on an associated entity. Any ideas on this? I'd like to stay away from direct SQL or HQL.

    We have a strange problem in our team. When a developer is using Eclipse in Debug mode, MS SQL Server 2005 blocks other developers from accessing a stored procedure. Debug session typically involves opening Hibernate session to persist an entity which could be accessing a stored procedure used for Primary key generation. Debugging is done in business logic code and rarely in JDBC stored procedure call. Is there any way to configure MS SQL server or the stored procedure so that other developers are not blocked?

    Switching aged 2003 SRV to 2008 caused my Asp.net 2 application fail: The application is no more loading the required library DLL from /bin/ folder anymore. What should I change in my code or web.config to make this webapp load OK also in new 2008 server? Now I receive this error when I access the application: This type is in IMPORTS ( Dll ). Compiler Error Message: BC30002: Type 'Facebook.Entity.User' is not defined.

    What exactly does setting the length on a column do in JPA? @Column(name = "middle_name", nullable = false, length = 32) public String getMiddleName() { return this.middleName; } I understand that you can use the annotations to generate the database schema based on the entity objects, but does length do any sort of check or truncation when persistence happens, or it solely used for schema creation? I also realize that JPA can sit on top of various implementations, the implementation I am concerned with in this case, is Hibernate.

Shall I have only 1 viewmodel of each entity (?) and then have 1 model for each form-modifing viewpage? So that viewmodel contains like all it ever would need, like: PagedFoo FooClass ..., FooClass, Foowithbunnies, FooClassStats... ? /M
