InvalidCastException when creating an instance using assembly.CreateInstance

I'm looking for an explanation for the following - I have an assembly I'm loading using Assembly assembly = Assembly.LoadFrom(filename); I then loop on all the types in the assembly, and wish to try and find out if a type implements a particular interface and if so I want an instance of that type, I've tried several things which did not work, but when I fell back to the most basic (and probably inefficient) way, I realised there's something more fundamental I don't understand - foreach (Type t in assembly.GetTypes()) { foreach (Type i in t.GetInterfaces()) { if (i.FullName == pluginInterfaceType.FullName) { object o = assembly.CreateInstance(t.ToString()); IInterface plugin = (IInterface)o; That last line causes an InvalidCastException, despite the fact that the type created definitely implements that interface. Further more - if I use Activator.CreateInstance instead of Assembly.CreateInstance (which I don't want to do), casting to the interface works just fine.

Jquery Cycle Plugin Question - turning off relative links to photos so it goes to a URL

I am using Jquery Cycle Plugin and it has a side panel that highlights as the photos change and currently when I click on the text the associated photo pulls up then I have to click on the photo to go to the URL but I would like the text itself to link to the URL. I have looked at the fn.cycle.defaults but not sure what to change and I tried a few things but nothing works. If anyone can help me figure this out it would be most helpful. C++0x and the Lack of Polymorphic Lambdas - Why?

I've been reviewing the draft version of the upcoming C++0x standard. Specifically the section on lambdas, and am confused as to the reasoning for not introducing polymorphic lambdas. I had hoped we could use code such as the following: template<typename Container> void foo(Container c) { for_each(c.begin(),c.end(),[](T& t) { ++t; }); } What were the reasons: Was it the committee ran out of time? That polymorphic lambdas are too hard to implement? Or perhaps that they are seen as not being needed by the PTB?

i hope i'm just doing something wrong here. Ideally i'm trying to open the connection, open a transaction execute a ton of prebuilt sqlstatements (with parameters) against this connection then close the connection. ideally all in the same batch. It's easy enough to wrap this all in a for loop, however i'd like to use the forEach function of the list generic to set the connection as it'll probably be faster than my implementation of calling List.Item(i) in the loop but i get some strange errors. I have found a way to do this but I am not satisfied with it as it seems like a hack. How to set a RichTextBox in Silverlight 4 to fit it's parent height and maintain it on resize?

I am having hard times figuring this out. Here is what I need: <StackPanel x:Name="container" VerticalAlignment="Stretch"> <RichTextBox Height="???" /> </StackPanel> Basically what I know I can do is to bind RichTextBox Height to it's parent's height ( Height="{Binding ElementName=container, Path=ActualHeight}". Unfortunately this only works on load, because as it seems ActualHeight and ActualWidth don't notify for changes. So what is the best way in Silverlight 4 to tell RichTextBox or TextBlock, it doesn't matter, to fill it's parent height, and maintain scrollbar if it's content height is bigger. Is the only way to bind some Resize events and maintain the height explicitly? That seems really ugly to me?

PHP script keeps doing mmap/munmap

Hello, My PHP script contains a loop, which does nothing much more than echoing and dereferencing pointers (like in $tab[$othertab[$i]]- stuff). It was working great until yesterday, when this script starting being VERY slow (like 50 times slower than before). After using strace, i figured out that 90% of the time, the script does mmap/munmap. Hello, I have several huge sorted enumerable sequences that I want to merge. Theses lists are manipulated as IEnumerable but are already sorted. Since input lists are sorted, it should be possible to merge them in one trip, without re-sorting anything. I would like to keep the defered execution behavior. I tried to write a naive algorithm which do that (see below). However, it looks pretty ugly and I'm sure it can be optimized. It may exist a more academical algorithm... Like this question already asked, I'd like to initialize a container using STL where the elements are hard-coded in the cleanest manner possible. In this case, the elements are a doubly nested container: set<vector<int> > A; And I'd like (for example) to put the following values in: A = [[0,0,1],[0,1,0],[1,0,0],[0,0,0]]; C++0x fine, using g++ 4.4.1. STL is preferable as I don't use Boost for any other parts of the code (though I wouldn't mind an example with it!).

Tomcat IIS 7 Integration gives 503 errors on all requests.

JQUERY Prepending an LI to an UL with Animation

Hello, I have a UL and I'm working to dynamically add a new LI to the top of the UL with some animation. This is presented using a container div with a div for each row, each row containing 10 divs. I am using setInterval to call a an asmx webservice that returns some json formatted information. On the success callback I call $("#myContainer").empty(); on the container div and recreate the rows and 10 nested divs for each row's columns. This page may be left to run for a whole day, so I am wary of updating the DOM like this as I have noticed that memory does rise for the browser over time (IE8). The other approach I am considering is to add an idea to the row div. When new results process each item of data, look for the corresponding row, if it exists overwrite the data in each div. If it doesn't exist (new data for example), append the row. What approaches have others used for this sort of long lived pseudo realtime information display. TIA

Reading multiple files with PHPExcel

Hello there. I just recently started using this library (the one from CodePlex), but I ran into some issues. My goal is to use it so I can process some data from multiple Excel files, and send such data to a database, per file. I'm doing something like: foreach( $file_list as $file ) { $book = PHPExcel_IOFactory::load( $path . $file ); } So, inside the foreach I'm (for now) just showing the data to the user, but after five files, I get a memory error: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 50688 bytes) in /var/www/test/classes/PHPExcel/Shared/OLERead.php on line 76 Is there a way to __destruct the object after each file is loaded, so space is reserved (made free) for the next file, instead of accumulating it, or do you rather know of a reason and work-around for this? Please let me know any suggestions you have. Thanks in advance.

How do I check if a swf file loaded correctly since put_Movie always returns S_OK?

I am using the latest flash player and have a swf file served locally from my dev machine. In one container test app I am able to play the swf and make calls to it, but in my "Real" application the same code path results in com errors (basically it looks like the swf isn;' loading properly) Additionally this is made more challenging because no matter what nonsense I put in the call to put_Movie() the return is ALWAYS S_OK. This is confusing. How am I supposed to determine if the swf file loaded and is working? As a follow-on, what would cause a swf file (the same one) not to load in a different app? The code paths are the same (from what I can tell). Obviousl something is going on, but I am not sure what. So, I guess 2 questions How to know when swf file doesn't load right Why might it fail in a different container application? I am using ATL in Visual studio 2008, latest flash, MS Vista Thanks

I have a csv reader class that reads a .csv file and its values.... I have created datatable out of it... Consider my Datatable contains three header columns Name,EmailId,PhoneNo.... The values have been added successfully.... Now i want to add two columns IsDeleted,CreatedDate to this datatable...
