  • Batch View updates

    I want to load a bunch of view definitions into SQL Server 2005 & 2008. I am using IF/ELSE logic to dynamically building Create or Alter statements that I then EXEC. This works fine. However, unless I get the order of the statements correct, I get errors if a view is dependent on another view that would be created in a later statement. Is there a way to turn of the valiation of the SQL statements until after they have all been entered? It seems like the worst of both worlds. SQL Server does late binding and so it won't propogate changes to tables and views, but you can't create a view without all the pieces being in place.

  • Installing a new SQL Server instance fails

    I've previously in my setup installed SQL Server Express 2005. Now I've switched to SQL Server Express 2008. I updated the command line parameters to those documented for the latter. If the comp already has SQL Server Express 2008 installed, my installer should create a new instance. The command line parameters are as follows: /ACTION=Install /FEATURES=SQLEngine /QS /INSTANCENAME=ABCD /SECURITYMODE=SQL /SAPWD=CunningPassword The requested instance name does not exist on the target machine. This will end in an error -2068643838. The logs show the following error: "No features were installed during the setup execution. The requested features may already be installed." If I remove the /QS parameter and try to install interactively, I'll get as far as the Feature Selection page. The UI shows three options, Instance Features, Shared Features and Redistributable Features. Whatever I select, clicking Next results in the same error (There are validation errors on this page).   • iPad/iPod: autoRotate resizes view in window

    Developing an iPad interface, I have a scenario where I have a UIViewController which manages a view that gets placed directly as a subview of the main UIWindow. Before being placed in the UIWindow, that view gets resized to a non-standard size, let's say, 768x460, and positioned at the bottom of the screen. When rotating the device, the autoRotate feature of the UIViewController causes the view to be resized so that it fills the entire UIWindow space. I thought this might be because in the XIB, the view is set to window size, but when I changed it to reflect the desired size, it still expanded it to the window size. Then I went into the MainWindow XIB and turned off autoresizeSubviews, and it still happens. This is a very frustrating problem, I am hoping that there is merely something obvious that I am missing out on. Anyone have any bright ideas?

    I have a modal view that is presented and dismissed fine when my device is in vertical orientation. I have problems when my modal view is presented in the vertical orientation, but dismissed in horizontal orientation. The entire app switches back to vertical orientation automatically. How can I ensure that if I am in horizontal orientation, the view should dismiss properly?

  • Problem with View - it does not refresh after db update

    Hi, I am working with small ASP.NET MVC project - online store. I have addToCart method which adds selected product to cart - it updates cart table in my db and showing cart view with its content. But I have problems. While db is updating correctly the view does not. I see that quantity of the product in my db is incremented correctly but quantity in view is not changed. I have to stop debugging my app in visual studia and restart it - then my view is showing correct data. What can be wrong?

Now I could duplicate the data each quarter, keeping the price the same, but I'd rather use a view. How can I create a view that can be used to return prices for (for example) quarter 2? I'd like to test my view's vars. Is there a way to access to the controllers view object?   • MVVM- How would I go about propagating settings between my main view-model (and other view-models) a

    I am building a settings dialog for my application and right now all of the settings correspond with settings on the main view-model, but as I add more view's and view-models some may not. I need to know what the best practice is for loading the current settings into the settings dialog and then saving the settings to thier corresponding view-models if the user clicks okay. I will not be using the Properties.Settings.Default system to store settings since I want my application to be as portable as possible and this would store user scoped settings in the directory: C:\Users\ username \Local Settings\Application Data\ ApplicationName Instead of in my application's directory. In case it makes any difference I am using the MVVM Light Toolkit by Laurent Bugnion.

  • Accessing Spring beans from a Tiles view (JSP)

    In Spring MVC I can access my beans in JSP using JstlView's exposedContextBeanNames (or exposeContextBeansAsAttributes). For example, then, in my JSP I can write (${properties.myProperty). But when the same JSP is a part of a tiles view, these properties aren't accessible. Is possible to configure Tiles properly or access these properties in another way? I'm using Spring MVC 3.0.2 and Tiles 2.2.1.     Hi, I'm using ubuntu 8.10. I want to do benchmarking using autobench. I could install httperf by the command sudo apt-get install httperf I thought I should be installing autobench in the same way using apt-get. But the package was not found. Can anybody please suggest me what should I be doing in order make this "autobench" command work for me in ubuntu? Any help in this regard will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    MacOS version : 10.7.2 ( lion ) Doxygen version : 1.7.5.1 Graphviz version : 2.29 Doxygen configuration - DOT_PATH = ../../../../Applications/Contents/MacOS/Graphviz HAVE_DOT = YES SHORT_NAMES = YES From the log console - First line it gives a warning - warning: the dot tool could not be found at ../../../../Applications/Contents/MacOS/Graphviz - I have tried various combinations but the warning does not go , although it generates the images. Generating dot graphs using 9 parallel threads... Running dot for graph 1/68 sh: dot: command not found Problems running dot: exit code=127, command='dot', arguments='"/Users/salilk/Documents/project/DoxygenDocs/html/a00033.dot" -Tpng -o "/Users/salilk/Documents/project/DoxygenDocs/html/a00033.png"' In the html directory the .dot files have been generated but no .png. Now if I execute the same command from the Terminal the .png file gets generated and is displayed in its .html file. Another error from the console is - error: problems opening map file /Users/salilk/Documents/A2O Collaborate/DoxygenDocs/html/a00032.map for inclusion in the docs! If you installed Graphviz/dot after a previous failing run, try deleting the output directory and rerun doxygen. - Is this related to the above problem ? I have used Doxygen before on a Windows machine and didn't have these errors , do we need to do any configurations specific for Mac ? - Salil.

    If i have file for eg: a log file created by any background process on unix, how do i view the data that getting updated each and every time. i know that i can use tail command to see the file.but let's say i have used tail -10 file.txt it will give the last 10 lines.but if lets say at one time 10 lines got added and at the next instance it has been added 2 lines. now from the tail command i can see previous 8 lines also.i don't want this.i want only those two lines which were added. In short i want to view only those lines which were appended.how can i do this?

    Microsoft MSDN site has next remark: "Any groups assigned to a ListView control appear whenever the ListView.View property is set to a value other than View.List." My problem is that i like to have View set to SmallIcon. In this mode ListView control is shifted left, and CheckBoxes are covered by left edge How to solve this issue, or at least how is possible to shift rendering of control to the right. My OS is Windows XP Service Pack 3. It looks like that ListView items with Groups and CheckBoxes shows correctly only when View set to Details.
