• GitLab on a fresh Ubuntu 13 EC2 instance

  I've spun up a fresh Amazon EC2 instance for a micro Ubuntu 13 server to be used as a GitLab server. I know the specs are a little low, but it should serve well for my purposes. It has an elastic (static) IP address that I have created an A record for git.mydomain.com. The first thing I did to the instance was add 1GB of swap to keep it happy from a memory perspective. I then set the hostname of the box to be git.mydomain.com and followed https://github.com/gitlabhq/gitlabhq/blob/6-2-stable/doc/install/installation.md to the letter. Everything seems to have worked, except for the web server side of things. Doing a gitlab:check shows the following: Checking Environment ... Finished It seems like I'm very nearly there. Searching on this error I have only found advice that unfortunately hasn't helped. I'm not using any kind of SSL setup, which a lot of the posts I found were about. I have tried appending 127.0.0.1 git.mydomain.com to /etc/hosts and giving the instance a reboot but there was no change. My config/gitlab.yml file has host: git.mydomain.com in it, and my gitlab-shell/config.yml has gitlab_url: "http://git.mydomain.com/" in it. I'm sure I'm missing something simple, but I've been through every relevant link I can find and have had no positive results; thank you in advance for any help!

• Is there a reasonable way to attach new path to PATH in bashrc?

  Guys I constantly need to attach new paths to the PATH environment variable in .bashrc, like below: export PATH=/usr/local/bin:$PATH Then to make it take effect, I always do 'source ~/.bashrc' or '. ~/.bashrc', while I found one shortcoming of doing so which make me uncomfortable. If I keep doing so, the PATH will getting longer and longer with many duplicated entries, for example in the previous command, if I source it twice, the value of PATH will be PATH=/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/bin:$PATH(<-the original path). Is there a more decent way to attach new path to PATH in bashrc without making it ugly?

• Browser download file prompt using javascript

  hi, I was wondering if there was any method to implement browser's download file prompt using javascript. My reason - well users will be uploading files to a local fileserver which cannot be accessed from the webserver. In other words, both will be on different domains! e.g. let’s say websites hosted on www.xyz.com, but files would reside on local file server with address like \10.10.10.01\Files\file.txt. How am I uploading/transferring file to local fileserver... using ACTIVEX(yikes) & VBscript!!!! (don’t ask :-) so i am storing local file path in my database and binding that data to a grid. So when the user clicks on that link, the file opens in a window (using javascript). Problem is certain file types like text, jpg, pdf, etc open inside browser window. How would i be able to implement content-type or content-disposition using client side scripting? Is that even possible? hoping my description was clear. Any ideas? EDIT: the local file server has a window's shared folder on which the files are saved.

But i want the standard many-to-many relationship models in Doctrine models. I'd appreciate some help. I have struggled to figure it out for a half day now. What is wrong? Thanks!

I was expecting one of the url will throw timeout error after 3 second since another url lock it atleast for 10 seconds due to thread sleep. Surprisingly I do not get any timeout error rather second page call run after 10 seconds as first call finish execution. But I am appending some url parameter (e.g. http://localhost.local/test.cfm?q=1) will throw error. Also I am calling same url in different browser then one of the call will throw timeout issue. Is lock based on session and url? • remsh rsh error redirect problem

  using following command on hp-ux remsh opera -l myuser crontab -l /opt1/exp_opera_crontab 2/opt/a.log and when i echo $? i get 0 because its executing crontab -l on remote machine but i dont have opt1 directory so export wont be copied to my local machine in /opt1/exp_opera_crontab i dont get any error about this when i run this remsh or rsh command is there any way to identify both of remote and local machine related errors and redirecting them into my local machine ?

End Class What I want to achieve is to directly initialize the People class, and add individual Person to it in XAML, i.e.: <local:People x:Key="Familty"> <local:Person Age="11" Name="John" /> <local:Person Age="12" Name="John2" /> ... </local:People> But I keep getting an error in XAML saying: The type 'People' does not support direct content. • What's special about mouse capture and middle mouse button in WPF?

  When I call CaptureMouse() in response to a MouseDown from the middle mouse button, it will capture and then release the mouse. Huh? I've tried using Preview events, setting Handled=true, doesn't make a difference. Am I not understanding mouse capture in WPF? • tomcat wont start up on linux machine

  hi, im new to linux but after spending the day i have got linux running. installed java and tomcat. my goal is host my app with this linux box i've just set up. i know it all works fine from my windows based machine but it is my laptop so i'm planning this as my dedicated server. following many many forums i've now got tomcat 7 installed. however i cannot get it to start. changing to the tomcat directory and "./startup.sh" i get output Using CATALINA_BASE: /usr/local/tomcat Using CATALINA_HOME: /usr/local.tomcat Using CATALINA_TMPDIR: /usr/local/tomcat/temp Using JRE_HOME: usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/ Using CLASSPATH: /usr/local/tomcat/bin/bootstrap.jar:/usr/local.tomcat/bin/c\tomcat-juli.jar thats the end of theoutput. however localhost:8080 is not up. and in the tomcat log file is the error "eval: 1: usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun//bin/java: not found" hopfully there is some expert here who can help me with this problem. please note that im a novice when it comes to linux. thankyou oh and my version of linux is Ubuntu 10.04 LTS - the Lucid Lynx

• Solr match all aka *:* does not work

  Don't know what I did wrong. I have two indices with identical documents in it. The local index was replicated from a master which responds correctly, so the same solrconfig.xml and schema.xml file. But if I query the index on my local machine with *:* I get 0 docs. (other queries on my local machine are working correct) I tried jetty and tomcat for the local index. no success. The *:* behaviour is crucial for me, because some test cases are failing now. Do you have an idea what could be wrong?

  I'm new to git and testing it out. I've been able to clone a friends repository make small local changes and commit.   I needed to know what was in my Ruby load path, so I did this: $ ruby -e "puts $LOAD_PATH" It didn't print anything out, which I didn't expect. So I tried this: $ ruby -e "puts $:" /usr/local/lib/site_ruby/1.8 /usr/local/lib/site_ruby/1.8/i486-linux /usr/local/lib/site_ruby/1.8/i386-linux /usr/local/lib/site_ruby /usr/lib/ruby/vendor_ruby/1.8 /usr/lib/ruby/vendor_ruby/1.8/i486-linux /usr/lib/ruby/vendor_ruby /usr/lib/ruby/1.8 /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/i486-linux /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/i386-linux . Why does the second one give me the expected output and the first one doesn't? Shouldn't they be the same? I just tried it in irb, and I got the results I expected.   Hi guys, i have a problem with cross-domain cookies. I read a lot of documentation about sharing cookies between subdomains. The main idea of all articles is set Domain property to something like ".mydomain.com". I've created two domains on local IIS server - test1.local.boo and test2.local.boo. They works great and visible with browser. I have the following code: Site test1 - Writes cookie: HttpCookie myCookie = new HttpCookie("TestCookie"); myCookie.Domain = ".local.boo"; myCookie["msg"] = "Welcome from Cookie"; Response.Cookies.Add(myCookie); Site test2 - Reads cookie: HttpCookie cookie = Request.Cookies["TestCookie"]; if (cookie != null) { Response.Write(cookie["msg"]); } else { Response.Write("FAILED"); } This code always shows FAILED message. So it means that second site can't read cookie from the same subdomain. Where is my mistake??

  Not sure if this has something to do the live host I'm working with, but I'm using @font-face in the following format, @font-face { font-family: 'UbuntuTitle'; src: url('Ubuntu-Title-webfont.eot'); src: local('?'), url('Ubuntu-Title-webfont.woff') format('woff'), url('Ubuntu-Title-webfont.ttf') format('truetype'), url('Ubuntu-Title-webfont.svg') format('svg'); font-weight: normal; font-style: normal; } I'm finding though that I can't save the document because of the strange character in () in local local('?') so I save it as UTF-8, but that changes the character to this local('☺'). Could that be the reason why it's not being picked up on the server? Any other possibilities?

It tries to give helpful suggestions about setting BOOST_DIR and Boost_LIBRARYDIR, but I haven't been able to get it to work by tweaking these variables. The most recent error message that I get is that it can't find the libraries, but it seems to indicate that it is using "/usr/local/include" for the include path, which isn't correct (and I can't seem to fix it). Does anybody have a solution for this off the top of their head, or do I need to go mucking around inside cmake to figure it out?

  I see examples where JavaScript code including jQuery and jslint use the notation below: (function(){ // do something })(); instead of: // do something I first thought this is just for local scoping, i.e. creating local variables for the code block without polluting global namespace. But I've seen instances without any local variables at all too. What am I missing here?

• Lua not producing table of functions (IO API)

  I'm working on a basic project in Lua. I've been trying to get data from files using the IO API (as defined here), but when I open a file and give it a handle, it doesn't seem to return a table of functions. The (erroneous bit of) code: local unread = fs.list("email/"..from.."/") local send = "" for _,file in ipairs(unread) do local handle = io.open(file,"r") local text = handle:read("*a") send = send .. text .. "\n" handle.close() fs.delete(file) end The fs you see on the first line is a professional filesystem wrapper round the IO API, not my work and perfectly error-free, so that's not the problem. However, when I try to read the file (handle:read()), it throws "attempt to index nil". Tracing it, it turns out that handle itself is nil. Any ideas?

ReConfigured Sharepoint (Helped resolve last vss error I encountered). registered VSS Dll's (Backups will sometimes work afterwards but VSS writers fail soon after).
