    i have a program that receives data from a wireless device over bluetooth...i now need to do some operations in the data and then send it to the website (web server!!!) as a .csv file...i also need to authenticate the device itself from it hardware address which is also obtained in the program.i am coding this in gcc linux compiler using C...can anyone tell me how do i go about doing this?

  • Objects With No Behavior

    I've been teaching myself object oriented programming and I'm thinking about a situation where I have an object "Transaction", that has quite a few properties to it like account, amount, date, currency, type, etc. I never plan to mutate these data points, and calculation logic will live in other classes. My question is, is it poor Python design to instantiate thousands of objects just to hold data? I find the data far easier to work with embedded in a class rather than trying to cram it into some combination of data structures.

  • How can i interpret a time value in ascii into a numerical value?

    I have a file which is as follows: 15:03:21 II 0.88 0.64 15:03:31 II 0.88 0.64 15:03:42 II 0.40 0.40 etc. after loading the file in matlab, I want to be able to read the first column (which corresponds to time) and interpret them as numerical values. At the moment, they are interpreted as a string of ascii characters and i can't perform any mathematical operations on them. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can read the time as numbers instead of a string of ascii characters?

    LINQ to SQL internally generates SQL queries and fire on the database after submitting changes. Is there any way we can wrap all these queries in some stored procedure and execute this store proc everytime when anything gets inserted or updated in the database. Problem is only stored procedures are allowed to carry any insert or update or delete operations, direct queries are restricted for security purpose.

  • How do I perform 'WHERE' on groups of rows?

    I have a table, which looks like: +-----------+----------+ + person_id + group_id + +-----------+----------+ + 1 + 10 + + 1 + 20 + + 1 + 30 + + 2 + 10 + + 2 + 20 + + 3 + 10 + +-----------+----------+ I need a query such that only person_ids with groups 10 AND 20 AND 30 are returned (only person_id: 1). I am not sure how to do this, as from what I can see it would require me to group the rows by person_id and then select the rows which contain all group_ids. I'm looking for something which will preserve the use of keys without resorting to string operations on group_concat() or such.

There are several examples on the web for Silverlight 3 but I'm either unable to compile them into my project or they just flat out display nothing. In addition I'm unable to find any examples specific to Silverlight 4. Can someone please post a sample for Silverlight 4 or a link to one?

  • Oracle : Identifying duplicates in a table without index

    When I try to create a unique index on a large table, I get a unique contraint error. The unique index in this case is a composite key of 4 columns. Is there an efficient way to identify the duplicates other than : select col1, col2, col3, col4, count() from Table1 group by col1, col2, col3, col4 having count() 1 The explain plan above shows full table scan with extremely high cost, and just want to find if there is another way.     I'm trying to define a class (or set of classes which implement the same interface) that will behave as a loosely typed object (like JavaScript). They can hold any sort of data and operations on them depend on the underlying type. I have it working in three different ways but none seem ideal. These test versions only allow strings and integers and the only operation is add. Adding integers results in the sum of the integer values, adding strings concatenates the strings and adding an integer to a string converts the integer to a string and concatenates it with the string. The final version will have more types (Doubles, Arrays, JavaScript-like objects where new properties can be added dynamically) and more operations. Anyway... My question is what is the best way to go about something thike this?

    NSOperationQueue has waitUntilAllOperationsAreFinished, but I don't want to wait synchronously for it. I just want to hide progress indicator in UI when queue finishes. What's the best way to accomplish this? I can't send notifications from my NSOperations, because I don't know which one is going to be last, and [queue operations] might not be empty yet (or worse - repopulated) when notification is received.

    I know that there are certain "special" methods of various objects that represent operations that would normally be performed with operators (i.e. int.__add__ for +, object.__eq__ for ==, etc.), and that one of them is list.__setitem, which can assign a value to a list element. However, I need a function that can assign a list into a slice of another list. Basically, I'm looking for the expression equivalent of some_list[2:4] = [2, 3].

    Is it possible to create a small program that will run, without recompiling and without emulators, on both Windows CE 6 AND Windows XP SP3? From my knowledge, this isn't possible. Source code needs to be recompiled for the target platform. However, a hardware manufacturer for embedded boards is claiming otherwise. The application isn't anything complex, just a simple benchmarking tool analysing floating point operations, CPU ticks etc, and displaying the results on a plain GUI.

  • mysql query optimization

    I would need some help on how to optimize the query. select * from transaction where id < 7500001 order by id desc limit 16 when i do an explain plan on this - the type is "range" and rows is "7500000" According to the some online reference's this is explained as, it took the query 7,500,000 rows to scan and get the data. Is there any way i can optimize so it uses less rows to scan and get the data. Also, id is the primary key column.
