  in a J2EE app if user explicitly takes out the the ending page name then what is the best way to not show the directory structure? Example: /mycoolapp/somefolder/test.jsp /mycoolapp/somefolder/ -- this will show all the files under 'somefolder' What is the best way to redirect or show the user a page saying 'not where you belong'. I want to avoid providing index.jsp in all the folders/subfolders of my application. Appserver being used is GlassFish. Also the app is using Struts2 framework, though not all of the code is in struts2. Some code is using traditional Servlets

  Having problem with encryption. I gave full permissions to all users to RSA folders. I did C:\>aspnet_regiis -pe "appSettings" -location "web.config" -prov "RsaProtectedCo nfigurationProvider" Encrypting configuration section... An error occurred executing the configuration section handler for appSettings. Failed to encrypt the section 'appSettings' using provider 'RsaProtectedConfigur ationProvider'. Error message from the provider: Object already exists. Failed! Then I did C:\>aspnet_regiis -pa "NetFrameworkConfigurationKey" "administrator" Adding ACL for access to the RSA Key container... The RSA key container was not found. Failed! Followed by C:\>aspnet_regiis -pc "NetFrameworkConfigurationKey" -exp Creating RSA Key container... The RSA key container could not be opened. Failed! • VB.NET localization

  In my winform app in VB.NET I want to use the localization option. But i have a few questions/problems. I'm using a menu strip to select an other language. But it seems that is doesn't change my menustip text to my selected language. It does change my labels, buttons, and textboxes but menu strips don't seem to change when I choose another language. Also is it possible to get those resx files such as MyForm.fr-FR.resx compiled so it isn't an external file outside my app? Or to get those files in an Language folder at the same location of my app, so i don't have all those fr-FR, nl-Nl folders in the same location as my program?

• Updating a Cuda 4.0 project to Cuda 4.2

  I have a VS2010 project that was tested with CUDA 4.0, today I installed CUDA 4.2 and I want to update this project, the problem is that when I try to run the project it asks me for cudart32_40_17.dll, but since this is CUDA 4.2 I only have on my folders (C:\Program Files\NVIDIA GPU Computing Toolkit\CUDA\v4.2\bin) cudart32_42_9.dll. I already set the Build Customizations to Cuda 4.2 and it compiles without any problem, the only problem is when I try to run it, the app asks me for the previous version of the dll. Is there a way to especify that the project must use cudart32_42_9.dll?

• WinSCP equivalent for Linux/Ubuntu

  I'm shifting most of my projects to a Linux machine, and one of the things that I miss is WinSCP. I've found other answers saying that nautilus, FileZilla etc. can be used for SFTP, but something that I loved about WinSCP was that it has two panes (FileZilla's got that) and I could start synchronization from any directory. Unison or Rsync could work, but I'd have to create a folder pair every time I want to sync two folders. Is there an SFTP client for Linux that has a two-paned view and allows ad-hoc synchronization? • How to resume repo sync

  Can anyone please mention how to resume the sync command? I followed the following steps: $ repo init -u git://git.omapzoom.org/platform/omapmanifest.git -b eclair $ repo sync The sync took more than 6 hours and I had to terminate the sync myself due to shortgae of bandwidth. Is there any way I can resume the sync from the previous session? I can see that the following folders are created: bionic.git bootable build.git cts.git and many more.... I have access to free bandwidth only for 6 hours in a day, and I have to do the sync within this time. Any help is really appreciated.

• TortoiseSVN 1.6.8 missing repository browser in Branch/Tag "To URL" dialog?

  It seems that in TortoiseSVN 1.6.8 (on Windows), when you click the "To URL..." button in the Branch/Tag dialog, it now pops up a generic "browse for folders" dialog. It used to pop up a Repository Browser. Displaying a regular folder browser isn't much use, since you can't navigate to any of the tags/branches via the file system. Does anyone know if this is a regression or a deliberate change? Any possible workarounds (other than reverting to 1.6.7, which works fine)? Notes: I am running a repository on the local file system, which may yield different results to one going across a network. I'm definitely using an FSFS repository, so changes to BDB access via file:/// shouldn't apply. • .htaccess Subfolder Redirect

  Hey Guys & Gals, I recently moved my WordPress website to a subfolder. I want to add a redirect in the .htaccess file so that the links to images I've uploaded originally to ~/wp-content/uploads/ will pass to ~/blog/wp-content/uploads. The .htaccess file must remain in the root folder for WordPress to read it properly. This is what I tried Redirect /wp-content/uploads/ /blog/wp-content/uploads That worked great, except I host other domains on this account, and all of the other domain's upload folders were being redirected in a similar manner. Is there a way to restrict this redirect to just one domain? So that example.com/wp-content/uploads redirects to example.com/blog/wp-content/uploads, but another.com/wp-content/uploads does not? • Can't resolve "UnauthorizedAccessException" with MVC 2 application running under IIS7

  We use MVC controllers that access System.File.IO in our application and they work fine in localhost (IIS 6.0-based Cassini). Deploying to IIS7, we have problems getting the controllers to work because they throw UnauthorizedAccessExceptions. We have done the following to try to resolve the issue: - Set NETWORK SERVICE and IUSR accounts to have permission on the files and folders in question - Ensured the App Pool is running under NETWORK SERVICE and loading the user profile - Application is running under full trust - We tried adding impersonation to web.config and giving NETWORK SERVICE write permissions Now, we alternate between getting UnauthorizedAccessException and an IIS7 404 page that suggests the routes are being ignored completely (for example we serve "/favicon.ico" via a controller when the physical file actually lives at /content/images/favicon.ico). We used ProcessMonitor to try to track down the issue but weren't successful.

  Hi there, When designing a HTML template in my favorite editor (TextPad at the moment) I can view my code in a browser by pressing F11 or the appropriate toolbar button. I have my common css rules in a separate file so my HTML contains the code: <link rel="stylesheet" href="commoncss.css" type="text/css"> This works when the .css file is in the same folder as the .html file, or if I fully path the .css file in the href property, eg. ///c:/mycssfolder/commoncss.css However, in a 'live' situation I want the .css file to reside in a common folder which is accessible from a number of .html files (eg. href='css/commoncss.css', where the css folder is configured at web-server level). How can I achieve this design vs. live dilemma without copying css file to all .html folders (and all the maintenance headaches that comes with it)? I am using Python 3.1 with Jinja2, but I guess this problem is applicable across any language and template-engine. Any help would be appreciated. Alan

• Best practices for large solutions in Visual Studio (2008)

  We have a solution with around 100+ projects, most of them C#. Naturally, it takes a long time to both open and build, so I am looking for best practices for such beasts. Along the lines of questions I am hoping to get answers to, are: how do you best handle references between projects should "copy local" be on or off? should every project build to its own folder, or should they all build to the same output folder(they are all part of the same application) are solutions folders a good way of organizing stuff? I know that splitting the solution up into multiple smaller solutions is an option, but that comes with its own set of refactoring and building headaches, so perhaps we can save that for a separate thread :-)

• Why aren't APT generated classes being compiled by Eclipse?

  In my Eclipse project I'm using a third-party annotation processor, Hibernate Metamodel Generator to be exact. The annotation processor works as expected and generates files as specified by the spec. These files are generated inside the directory of the Eclipse project under a "gen" folder. In the project properties this is correctly reflected since two source folders exist - "src" and "gen." However, when the project is built for some reason all the [generated] sources under "gen" are not compiled (checking the "bin" directory I only see .class file from the "src" directory). Does anyone know why this is happening?

  I have a multi-user software solution (containing different applications, i.e. EXEs) that should allow only a limited number of concurrent users. It's designed to run in an intranet. I dont have a really good, satisfactory solution to the problem of counting the client licenses yet. The key requirements are: Multiple instances (starts) of the same application (= process) should count as only one client licence Starting different applications of the software solution should also count as only one (the same) client licence Application crash should not lead to orphaned used licences The above should work also for Terminal Server environments (all clients same IP, but different install folders) I'm looking for estabilished patterns, solutions, tips for managing used client licenses. Specific hints for the above sitaution are also welcome.

• Using DotNetZip Library unzip file with non ASCII characters

  I'm trying to unzip a file, using DotNetZip Library. The file contains folders and files with danish characters (æøåÆØÅ). TotalCommander, 7Zip, Windows own zip all extract the files correctly, but DotNetZip Library mangles the danish characters. Ex: File_æøåÆØÅ.txt becomes File_æ¢åÆ¥Å.txt insted of aø it contains a ¢. insted of a Ø it contains a ¥. Code: using (var zipFile = ZipFile.Read(@"File_æøåÆØÅ.zip")) { zipFile.ExtractAll(@"File_æøåÆØÅ", ExtractExistingFileAction.OverwriteSilently); } I'm using the default encoding("da-DK" culture), I have tried other encodings like UTF8 etc. How can I unzip a file containing filenames with Danish characters?

• Using VB6 + WSH with Windows Compression

  Having trouble with WSH and Windows Compression. My goal is to be able to zip up files (not folders, but individual files from various locations, which I have stored in an array) using the built-in Windows Compression. I am using VB6. I start getting errors from Windows (presumably, its calling the compression too fast, and the zip file is locked). I cant seem to figure out how to WAIT until the COPYHERE function completes before calling the next one to avoid issues. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks -

  I thought I had an answer to this, but the more I play with it, the more I see it as a design flaw of Powershell. I would like to drag and drop (or use the Send-To mechanism) to pass multiple files and/or folders as a array to a Powershell script. Test Script #Test.ps1 param ( [string[]] $Paths, [string] $ExampleParameter ) "Paths" $Paths "args" $args I then created a shortcut with the following command line and dragged some files on to it. The files come across as individual parameters which first match the script parameters positionally, with the remainder being placed in the $args array. Shortcut Attempt 1 powershell.exe -noprofile -noexit -file c:\Test.ps1 I found that I can do this with a wrapper script... Wrapper Script #TestWrapper.ps1 & .\Test.ps1 -Paths $args Shortcut Attempt 2 powershell.exe -noprofile -noexit -file c:\TestWrapper.ps1 Has anyone found a way to do this without the extra script?

• Create MSI for slipstream SQL 2008 install

  I am looking at creating an MSI that will check/install the prerequisites of SQL Server 2008 and after the prerequisites are installed I will start my slipstream 2008 install. I am currently trying to do this through VS 2008 Deployment Projects, but I cannot just simple add the folders of the SQL slipstream into the setup project without recreating the entire folder structure of the SQL install. So my questions are: Is this a possible to do through Deployment Projects? (if yes, please assist with links or help) Is there a better way to do this? (I would prefer not to use WISE)

• Advanced Array Sorting in Ruby

  I'm currently working on a project in ruby, and I hit a wall on how I should proceed. In the project I'm using Dir.glob to search a directory and all of its subdirectories for certain file types and placing them into an arrays. The type of files I'm working with all have the same file name and are differentiated by their extensions. For example, txt_files = Dir.glob("**/*.txt") doc_files = Dir.glob("**/*.doc") rtf_files = Dir.glob("**/*.rtf") Would return something similar to, FILECON.txt ASSORTED.txt FIRST.txt FILECON.doc ASSORTED.doc FIRST.doc FILECON.rtf ASSORTED.rtf FIRST.rtf So, the question I have is how I could break down these arrays efficiently (dealing with thousands of files) and placing all files with the same filename into an array. The new array would look like, FILECON.txt FILECON.doc FILECON.rtf ASSORTED.txt ASSORTED.doc ASSORTED.rtf etc. etc. I'm not even sure if glob would be the correct way to do this (all the files with the same file name are in the same folders). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

• Perl file test operator help

  This is a really basic issue, but I'm new to perl and cannot work out what the issue is. I'm just trying to isolate the files in a directory, but the -d operator keeps treating all the folder contents as files ... @contents is my array, and when I run this: foreach $item(@contents) { if (-d $item) { next; } print"$item is a file\n"; } I keep getting both folders and files.   Hi! Is there a Delphi-5 solution to easily integrate single-file storage into existing code? I would like to have files like Java *.jar or Openoffice document files which are zipped/compressed files and folders but with their own file extension. Edit: I know some ZIP capable components but in a nutshell I want to access files within the "container" and use normal file handling routines on them (eg. TStringList.SaveToFile). Any overhead about compress/uncompress should be handled by the component.

  Installshield 2009 Premier Basic MSI: When I uninstall there is a Message Box saying that explorer has to be closed: [Title] My-Product-Name [List] Explorer [radio button 1, Selected by default] Automatically close applications and attempt to restart them after setup is complete [radio button 2] Do not close applications. (A Reboot will be required) [Ok Button] [Cancel Button] If I click OK [with radio button 1 selected] all opened folders are closed !!! How to get rid of this, I don't want any warning message box to show and not close explorer either? More info: I have a dll which is used to show explorer context menu with icons when we right click on any file/folder. This dll is registered during installation and unregistered during uninstall. When we uninstall WinRAR we don't see any such messages, do we?

• mod_rewrite to find missing /img/foo.jpg in /img/f/

  I've got a folder of images which is reaching a critical mass after a few years. I want to move images into alphabetical folders, so that /img/foo.jpg goes into /img/f/foo.jpg and /img/bar.jpg goes into /img/b/bar.jpg and so on. In order to make the transition smooth, and to allow the manual uploaders to put stuff into the top level, I'd like to use mod_rewrite to do this: if /img/foo.jpg exists, serve it up, if not look for it in /img/f/foo.jpg thanks for any suggestions. For the record, no, I don't think we need to go /img/f/fo/foo.jpg just yet.

• Renaming and Moving Files in Bash

  HI, I'm completely new to Bash and StackOverflow. I need to move a set of files (all contained in the same folder) to a target folder where files with the same name could already exist. In case a specific file exists, I need to rename the file before moving it, by appending for example an incremental integer to the file name. The extensions should be preserved. The file names could contain dots in the middle. Originally, I was thinking about comparing the two folders to have a list of the existing files (I did this with "comm"), but then I got a bit stuck. I think I'm just trying to do things in the most complicated possible way. Any hint to do this in the "bash way"?
