  • Ruby - overriding/enabling multiple assignment (e.g. `a, b, c = d, e, f`)

    - by nicholaides
In ruby, you can do this: d = [1, 2, 3] a, b, c = d a, b, and c, will receive the values 1, 2, and 3, respectively. d, in this case in an Array and ruby knows to assign it's contents to a, b, and c. But, if d were a Fixnum, for example, only a would be assigned to the value of d while b and c would be assigned nil. What properties of d allow it to be used for multiple assignment? In my exploring so far, I've only been able to make instances of subclasses of Array behave in this way.

  • Optimal strategy to make a C++ hash table, thread safe

    - by Ajeet
(I am interested in design of implementation NOT a readymade construct that will do it all.) Suppose we have a class HashTable (not hash-map implemented as a tree but hash-table) and say there are eight threads. Suppose read to write ratio is about 100:1 or even better 1000:1. Case A) Only one thread is a writer and others including writer can read from HashTable(they may simply iterate over entire hash table) Case B) All threads are identical and all could read/write. Can someone suggest best strategy to make the class thread safe with following consideration 1. Top priority to least lock contention 2. Second priority to least number of locks My understanding so far is thus : One BIG reader-writer lock(semaphore). Specialize the semaphore so that there could be eight instances writer-resource for case B, where each each writer resource locks one row(or range for that matter). (so i guess 1+8 mutexes) Please let me know if I am thinking on the correct line, and how could we improve on this solution.

  • Efficient implementation of exclusive execution

    - by n0weak
    I have an ObjectManager class that is used to process payments. It is wrapped over the Order entities, so new instance has to be created when processing is required. I need to prevent the situation when several ObjectManager instances are dealing with the same order simultaneously (it happend once because of some errors on the remote payment processing center, somehow they called our callback urls twice). I'd love to get an advice how to implement it more efficiently. For now, I am thinking about something like that: public class OrderManager{ private static final CopyOnWriteArrayList<Integer> LOCKER = new CopyOnWriteArrayList<Integer>(); private static synchronized boolean tryLock(Integer key) { return LOCKER.addIfAbsent(key); } private static void releaseLock(Integer key) { LOCKER.remove(key); } public void processPayment(Integer orderId) throws Exception{ if (!tryLock(orderId)) { return; } try { //operate } finally { releaseLock(orderId); } } //remainder omitted }

  • Is it possible (and if so how) to delete a zookeeper node with apache camel?

    - by b_habegger
I am looking into using Zookeeper to synchronized distributed Camel instances. In doing so it seems that there is not possibility to delete a znode from Zookeeper from Camel (I imagined some sort of producer operation). A look at the components source seems to confirm this. (I didn't find any code explicitely requesting a node removal). Am I missing something ? When would a node created via Camel (in my case EPHEMERAL) be deleted ? Maybe I am miss understanding something with zookeeper ?

  • How do programs handle file "opened with..." them?

    - by hmind
I am wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. You know how for example, in most IDEs, if you open a source file with "open with", it runs the program and opens it up? and then if you open another one, it opens it in a new tab in the same process? My question is NOT how to add a program to the shell commands, but rather: How would a C# application "receive" a PDF file for example? How would the application open the file in the same process when another file is run with it (not having to instances of the program)?

  • Linq - Grouping where items fall in multiple groups?

    - by PirateKitten
Is it possible using Linq to create a group where items fall into more than one group? Using the following trivial example: public class Data { public string ID; public int From; public int To; } And this list: List<Data> data = new List<Data>() { new Data() { ID = "A", From = 1, To = 3 }, // Call this A new Data() { ID = "B", From = 1, To = 2 }, // Call this B new Data() { ID = "C", From = 2, To = 3 } // Call this C }; I'd like to group by each possible integer in the ranges From and To (though instead of finding the min + max I could supply the query with the range I want, for example 1 to 3), and in each group would be a reference to the Data instance where the grouping int fits in its range. Hard to explain, easier to show each group and the instances I'd expect in each: [Group 1] 1 - A, B [Group 2] 2 - A, B, C [Group 3] 3 - A, C Is this possible? Or must groups be mutually exclusive?

  • How to resize & move css divisions at same time?

    - by achievelimitless
I have a division in which i'll be having dynamic numbers of colorful blocks(that too divisions) at various instances. On clicking the box, i want them to expand & cover whole screen. the problem is, while boxes are expanding, they are expanding at there own position & not shifting in the screen.. I used: .elemented1 { width: 100%; height: 80%; -webkit-animation: elemen1 0.3s; border: 0px; } @-webkit-keyframes elemen1 { from { width: 49.6%; height: 39.6%; } to { width: 100%; height: 80%; } } This is working fine but i have to put blocks dynamically. I cant write animations for individual blocks as they will be of different sizes.

  • BIND9 / DNS Zone / Dedicated Server / Unique Reverse DNS

    - by user2832131
I locate a dedicated server in a datacenter with no DNS Zone setup. Datacenter panel have 1 textfield only you can fill one Reverse DNS only. According with datacenter instructions here... [instructions]: http://www.wiki.hetzner.de/index.php/DNS-Reverse-DNS/en#How_can_I_assign_several_names_to_my_IP_address.2C_if_different_domains_are_hosted_on_my_server.3F How_can_I_assign_several_names_to_my_IP_address ...I need to install BIND9 in order to configure other records like CNAME and MX. Ok, I've installed BIND9, created a Master Zone. And following this example, I put it in the Zone File: [example]: http://wiki.hetzner.de/index.php/DNS_Zonendatei/en example $ttl 86400 @ IN SOA ns1.first-ns.de. postmaster.robot.first-ns.de. ( 1383411730 14400 1800 604800 86400 ) @ IN NS ns1.first-ns.de. @ IN NS robotns2.second-ns.de. @ IN NS robotns3.second-ns.com. localhost IN A 127.0.0.1 @ IN A 144.86.786.651 www IN A 144.86.786.651 loopback IN CNAME localhost But when I point my domain to ns1.first-ns.de, DNS Register says "time out". Am I missing something? I created a Master zone. Should it be a Slave zone? named.conf: include "/etc/bind/named.conf.options"; include "/etc/bind/named.conf.local"; include "/etc/bind/named.conf.default-zones"; named.conf.options: options { directory "/var/cache/bind"; dnssec-validation auto; auth-nxdomain no; # conform to RFC1035 listen-on-v6 { any; }; }; named.conf.local: zone "mydomain.com" { type master; file "/var/lib/bind/mydomain.com.hosts"; allow-update {any;}; allow-transfer {any;}; allow-query {any;}; }; named.conf.default-zones: zone "." { type hint; file "/etc/bind/db.root"; }; zone "localhost" { type master; file "/etc/bind/db.local"; }; zone "127.in-addr.arpa" { type master; file "/etc/bind/db.127"; }; zone "0.in-addr.arpa" { type master; file "/etc/bind/db.0"; }; zone "255.in-addr.arpa" { type master; file "/etc/bind/db.255"; }; Problem is that I'm moving my site, and can't update the new NS server due to a 'timeout' message when filling new datacenter NS. I'm filling: MASTER: ns1.first-ns.de SLAVE1: robotns2.second-ns.de SLAVE2: robotns3.second-ns.com

  • using own mail server with external domain and dns. Now have internal dns. dkim test not working

    - by mojotaker
I am not very knowledgeable in this area, but have been able to make great head way. Now i am stuck I setup my own mail server, e.g mailbox.example.com. I had the domain dns point to my mail server in my office. i was able to set up everything working fine. such as dkim and spf records. Recently i decided to setup an internal dns server in the office so as to resolve some addresses for some development servers internally. Ok the problem now is my mail server is sitting on the internal dns server (the mail server is on the same box as the dns server) its still able to send and receive emails but not sure if dkim is working properly. when i try to do a dkim test "amavisd test keys" i get "invalid (public key: not available)" and i know that that means i have a dns issue. so what should i do? I am currently looking at my internal dns zonefile and i dont know what to do (i am using bind dns server on an ubuntu-server box). do i configure a dkim txt record on the local dns ? or is there a way to forward dkim "request" to the external dns ? or do i have this whole thing done wrong ? To be clear Basically my internal domain name is the same as my external domain name (i.e example.com) i have a mail server within my internal domain mailbox.example.com, that uses my external domain dns (external dns has been setup to point to my emailserver (which of course is now sitting behind my internal dns)) dkim (i dont think its working because it fails the dkim test") Need help in determing the proper setup What is the proper way to set this up ? thank you Update: Here is my local dns zone file ; ; BIND data file for local loopback interface ; $TTL 604800 @ IN SOA webserver.example.com. root.example.com. • How to block subreddits with BIND9?

    - by user1391189
Please help me block NSFW subreddits like this one (http://www.reddit.com/r/NSFW/) I would like to keep access to SFW subreddits, but block certain subreddits that are distracting or NSFW. I know how to filter domains. (see files below) But how do I apply the filter only to certain subreddits? • DNS delegation on same server with DDNS and second slave server

    - by Austin
I have two servers running BIND, the first is setup as the master of two zones and the second as a slave for those zones. The zones are example.com and ddns.example.com. I have DDNS running and thousands of device entries are dynamically created in ddns.example.com. I wanted to keep DDNS separate from the main example.com, so I created a separate zone that the DHCP servers update. Considering these zones are hosted on the same server, is it possible to have delegation working from example.com to ddns.example.com? For example if my workstation's search domain is example.com and pointed towards 10.1.10.1 for its DNS provider, I would like to be able to resolve hostname.ddns. As it is, I can resolve hostname.ddns.example.com, but would like to be able to resolve just hostname.ddns. Alternatively, if the workstation's search domain is ddns.example.com, what settings do I need to be able to change to be able to resolve web, ftp, etc, which are all hosts in the parent, example.com zone? Does the ddns.example.com zone need to forward to the example.com zone? Again, all the zones are setup on the same server with a second server setup as a slave. named.conf: zone "example.com" IN { type master; file "example.com"; allow-update { none; }; } zone "ddns.example.com" IN { type master; file "ddns.example.com"; allow-update { key dhcp-update; }; } example.com zone file: $ORIGIN . $TTL 86400 example.com IN SOA ns1.example.com. hostmaster.example.com. • Providing DNS redirection to honeypot server for known bad domains

    - by syn-
Currently running BIND on RHEL 5.4 and am looking for a more efficient manner of providing DNS redirection to a honeypot server for a large (30,000+) list of forbidden domains. Our current solution for this requirement is to include a file containing a zone master declaration for each blocked domain in named.conf. Subsequently, each of these zone declarations point to the same zone file, which resolves all hosts in that domain to our honeypot servers. ...basically this allows us to capture any "phone home" attempts by malware that may infiltrate the internal systems. The problem with this configuration is the large amount of time taken to load all 30,000+ domains as well as management of the domain list configuration file itself... if any errors creep into this file, the BIND server will fail to start, thereby making automation of the process a little frightening. So I'm looking for something more efficient and potentially less error prone. named.conf entry: include "blackholes.conf"; blackholes.conf entry example: zone "bad-domain.com" IN { type master; file "/var/named/blackhole.zone"; allow-query { any; }; notify no; }; blackhole.zone entries: $INCLUDE std.soa @ NS ns1.ourdomain.com. @ NS ns2.ourdomain.com. @ NS ns3.ourdomain.com.                        IN            A                192.168.0.99 *                      IN            A                192.168.0.99

  • What are the pros and cons of AWS Elastic Beanstalk compared with other deployment strategies?

    - by James van Dyke
I'm pretty new to the whole Netflix OSS stack and deployments in general. As a background for my current level of knowledge ops-wise, my main role is as a front-end application engineer. However, I enjoy the operations side of things, so I'm attempting to setup a new deployment strategy and the tooling for a new project. Our Goals Super easy deploys (we want to push a button to update production) Automated deploys to test environments (using Jenkins) Ease of maintenance (we have an app to write, don't want to spend our time fiddling with production issues) Ability to handle a service oriented architecture (many small apps, various languages and data stores) Enough flexibility to ensure we won't have to change strategies any time soon (we're already trying to get away from RightScale) We're OK with a little more initial setup time if doing so will save us some headaches in the future. So, along these lines, I've been listening to podcasts, watching Ops talks, and reading tons of blog posts and based on our goals and what I've taken to be some forming best practices, we've started forming a plan using Asgard, rolling our package into a jar and rolling that into an AMI. We had this all planned out and like the advantages the process versus using a Chef server and converging instances on the fly (we felt this was error prone given our limited timeline and lack of understanding around a Chef server workflow). However, a coworker did a little looking around on his own and felt like Elastic Beanstalk met our needs. I've looked into it and spun up a test environment with a WAR file and an attached RDS database. Things seem to work and I believe that we can automate deploys to a testing environment using Jenkins via the AWS API. Seems simple enough... perhaps too simple. What I'm wondering is, what's the catch? If Elastic Beanstalk is so simple and effective, why isn't it talked about more? I'm having a hard time finding enough objective opinions and facts about the two different deployment strategies, so I thought I'd ask around. Do you use Elastic Beanstalk? If so, why and what factors lead to that decision? What do you like and dislike? If you don't use Elastic Beanstalk but considered it, what do you use and why didn't you use Elastic Beanstalk? What are the advantages and disadvantages to a Elastic Beanstalk based deployment strategy for an SOA? That is, will Elastic Beanstalk work well with many small applications that rely on each other to work?

  • Why is Denic not accepting my nameservers?

    - by Oliver Salzburg
I'm currently in the process of moving all of our domains to our own nameservers. Which wasn't an issue until I hit our own .de domain. I (think I) understand the implications of having the NS inside it's own domain, hence the need for glue records. Until yesterday, I would have assumed I have a pretty good understanding of Bind and DNS zones until I was presented with this error from the Denic nameserver predelegation check: Inconsistent set of nameserver IP addresses (NS, provided glues, determined glues) ns2.hartwig-at.de [88.198.242.190/88.198.242.190] Default resolver determined: [], other resolvers determined: {88.198.242.190/88.198.242.190=[/2a01:4f8:d13:3c85:0:0:0:2, /88.198.242.190]} Inconsistent set of nameserver IP addresses (NS, provided glues, determined glues) ns1.hartwig-at.de [cloud.hartwig-at.de/176.221.46.23] Default resolver determined: [], other resolvers determined: {cloud.hartwig-at.de/176.221.46.23=[/2a00:1158:3:0:0:0:0:b6, /176.221.46.23]} Screenshot of the result The support of my registrar is either far better educated than me or doesn't have a clue. Either way, they're avoiding my questions in regards to what this error means. They just tell me Your nameserver has to return your own nameservers as the default resolver. • Why does my mail get marked as spam?

I Have the server "afspraakmanager.be". It matches everything not to be a spam server.(it isn't by the way): it has reverse dns, spf,dkim,... . But hotmail marks it as spam. I think the problem is the SPF/DKIM records. when i sent an email to my gmail it says: "Received-SPF: neutral (google.com: 2a02:348:8e:6048::1 is neither permitted nor denied by best guess record for domain of [email protected]) client-ip=2a02:348:8e:6048::1; Authentication-Results: mx.google.com; spf=neutral (google.com: 2a02:348:8e:6048::1 is neither permitted nor denied by best guess record for domain of [email protected]) [email protected]; dkim=neutral (bad format) [email protected]" So i guess my SPF and DKIM records aren't set up right. TL;DR version: Turns out this was a Windows Server 2008 R2 kernel networking bug. After siccing Microsoft support on it, we (eventually) got an unpublished kernel hotfix from Microsoft to address it. If you, too, are experiencing mysterious low-level network driver failures requiring a reboot/bluescreen cycle, you might want that hotfix (or maybe Service Pack 1 whenever it is released, too.) We have been using HAProxy along with heartbeat from the Linux-HA project. We are using two linux instances to provide a failover. Each server has with their own public IP and a single IP which is shared between the two using a virtual interface (eth1:1) at IP: 69.59.196.211 The virtual interface (eth1:1) IP 69.59.196.211 is configured as the gateway for the windows servers behind them and we use ip_forwarding to route traffic. We are experiencing an occasional network outage on one of our windows servers behind our linux gateways. HAProxy will detect the server is offline which we can verify by remoting to the failed server and attempting to ping the gateway: Pinging 69.59.196.211 with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 69.59.196.220: Destination host unreachable. Running arp -a on this failed server shows that there is no entry for the gateway address (69.59.196.211): Interface: 69.59.196.220 --- 0xa Internet Address Physical Address Type 69.59.196.161 00-26-88-63-c7-80 dynamic 69.59.196.210 00-15-5d-0a-3e-0e dynamic 69.59.196.212 00-21-5e-4d-45-c9 dynamic 69.59.196.213 00-15-5d-00-b2-0d dynamic 69.59.196.215 00-21-5e-4d-61-1a dynamic 69.59.196.217 00-21-5e-4d-2c-e8 dynamic 69.59.196.219 00-21-5e-4d-38-e5 dynamic 69.59.196.221 00-15-5d-00-b2-0d dynamic 69.59.196.222 00-15-5d-0a-3e-09 dynamic 69.59.196.223 ff-ff-ff-ff-ff-ff static 224.0.0.22 01-00-5e-00-00-16 static 224.0.0.252 01-00-5e-00-00-fc static 225.0.0.1 01-00-5e-00-00-01 static On our linux gateway instances arp -a shows: peak-colo-196-220.peak.org (69.59.196.220) at <incomplete> on eth1 stackoverflow.com (69.59.196.212) at 00:21:5e:4d:45:c9 [ether] on eth1 peak-colo-196-215.peak.org (69.59.196.215) at 00:21:5e:4d:61:1a [ether] on eth1 peak-colo-196-219.peak.org (69.59.196.219) at 00:21:5e:4d:38:e5 [ether] on eth1 peak-colo-196-222.peak.org (69.59.196.222) at 00:15:5d:0a:3e:09 [ether] on eth1 peak-colo-196-209.peak.org (69.59.196.209) at 00:26:88:63:c7:80 [ether] on eth1 peak-colo-196-217.peak.org (69.59.196.217) at 00:21:5e:4d:2c:e8 [ether] on eth1 Why would arp occasionally set the entry for this failed server as <incomplete>? Should we be defining our arp entries statically? I've always left arp alone since it works 99% of the time, but in this one instance it appears to be failing. Are there any additional troubleshooting steps we can take help resolve this issue? THINGS WE HAVE TRIED I added a static arp entry for testing on one of the linux gateways which still didn't help. root@haproxy2:~# arp -a peak-colo-196-215.peak.org (69.59.196.215) at 00:21:5e:4d:61:1a [ether] on eth1 peak-colo-196-221.peak.org (69.59.196.221) at 00:15:5d:00:b2:0d [ether] on eth1 stackoverflow.com (69.59.196.212) at 00:21:5e:4d:45:c9 [ether] on eth1 peak-colo-196-219.peak.org (69.59.196.219) at 00:21:5e:4d:38:e5 [ether] on eth1 peak-colo-196-209.peak.org (69.59.196.209) at 00:26:88:63:c7:80 [ether] on eth1 peak-colo-196-217.peak.org (69.59.196.217) at 00:21:5e:4d:2c:e8 [ether] on eth1 peak-colo-196-220.peak.org (69.59.196.220) at 00:21:5e:4d:30:8d [ether] PERM on eth1 root@haproxy2:~# arp -i eth1 -s 69.59.196.220 00:21:5e:4d:30:8d root@haproxy2:~# ping 69.59.196.220 PING 69.59.196.220 (69.59.196.220) 56(84) bytes of data. --- 69.59.196.220 ping statistics --- 7 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 6006ms Rebooting the windows web server solves this issue temporarily with no other changes to the network but our experience shows this issue will come back. Swapping network cards and switches I noticed the link light on the port of the switch for the failed windows server was running at 100Mb instead of 1Gb on the failed interface. I moved the cable to several other open ports and the link indicated 100Mb for each port that I tried. I also swapped the cable with the same result. I tried changing the properties of the network card in windows and the server locked up and required a hard reset after clicking apply. This windows server has two physical network interfaces so I have swapped the cables and network settings on the two interfaces to see if the problem follows the interface. If the public interface goes down again we will know that it is not an issue with the network card. (We also tried another switch we have on hand, no change) Changing network hardware driver versions We've had the same problem with the latest Broadcom driver, as well as the built-in driver that ships in Windows Server 2008 R2. Replacing network cables As a last ditch effort we remembered another change that occurred was the replacement of all of the patch cords between our servers / switch. We had purchased two sets, one green of lengths 1ft - 3ft for the private interfaces and another set of red cables for the public interfaces. We swapped out all of the public interface patch cables with a different brand and ran our servers without issue for a full week ... aaaaaand then the problem recurred. Disable checksum offload, remove TProxy We also tried disabling TCP/IP checksum offload in the driver, no change. We're now pulling out TProxy and moving to a more traditional x-forwarded-for network arrangement without any fancy IP address rewriting. We'll see if that helps. Switch Virtualization providers On the off chance this was related to Hyper-V in some way (we do host Linux VMs on it), we switched to VMWare Server. No change. Switch host model We've reached the end of our troubleshooting rope and are now formally involving Microsoft support. They recommended changing the host model: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Host_model http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2007.09.cableguy.aspx We did that, and.. we'll see.

  • BIND DNS server (Windows) - Unable to access my local domain from other computers on LAN

    - by Ricardo Saraiva
I have a BIND DNS server running on my Windows 7 development machine and I'm serving pages with WAMPSERVER. My ideia is to develop some tools (in PHP) for my intranet at work and I want them to be accessible via LAN in this format: http://tools.mycompany.com I've already placed BIND and I can access http://tools.mycompany.com on the machine that holds BIND server, but I cannot access it from other LAN computers. I've done the following on my router: defined static IP's for all LAN computers set Port Forwarding to my server (remember: it serves DNS and Web pages) set DNS server configuration to point to my LAN server On LAN computers, I went to Local Area Network properties and also changed the DNS server IP in order to point to my local DNS server. If it helps, here is my named.conf file: options { directory "c:\windows\SysWOW64\dns\etc"; forwarders {127.0.0.1; 8.8.8.8; 8.8.4.4;}; pid-file "run\named.pid"; allow-transfer { none; }; recursion no; }; logging{ channel my_log{ file "log\named.log" versions 3 size 2m; severity info; print-time yes; print-severity yes; print-category yes; }; category default{ my_log; }; }; zone "mycompany.com" IN { type master; file "zones\db.mycompany.com.txt"; allow-transfer { none; }; }; key "rndc-key" { algorithm hmac-md5; secret "qfApxn0NxXiaacFHpI86Rg=="; }; controls { inet 127.0.0.1 port 953 allow { 127.0.0.1; } keys { "rndc-key"; }; }; ...and a single zone I've defined - file db.mycompany.com.txt: $TTL 6h @ IN SOA tools.mycompany.com. hostmaster.mycompany.com. ( 2014042601 10800 3600 604800 86400 ) @ NS tools.mycompany.com. tools IN A 192.168.1.4 www IN A 192.168.1.4 On the file above 192.168.1.4 is the IP of the local machine inside my LAN. Can someone help me here? I need my web pages to be accessible from other computers inside my LAN using my custom domain name. I've tried on other computers and they can access my server via http://192.168.1.4/, but no able when using http://tools.mycompany.com . Please, consider the following: I'm completely new to BIND I have basic knowledge in Apache configuration Thanks a lot for your help.

  • Trying to get DNS services running on Windows Server 2008 R2, what am I getting wrong ?

    - by LaserBeak
Ok, So I am basically trying to get a home server pc up that will provide Domain name services, act as Mail server and web server. I have one static IP, well it's not officially static but hasn't changed in two years so I'll call it static. I have done the following: Configured router NAT/virtual port forward UDP/TCP port 53 to the internal IP of my server 192.168.1.16, in adapter settings specified the manual settings: 192.168.1.16 IP, gateway 192.168.1.1, Subnet: 255.255.255.0 and loopback DNS: 127.0.0.1 Using my public my public IP Checked using http://www.canyouseeme.org/ that port 53 is open and is not being blocked by my ISP. It can see services on this port. Registered Domain name (mydomain.com.au) Updated whois database through the domain registrars site and registered NameServer names: ns0.mydomain.com.au and ns2.mydomain.com.au, both have been associated with my single public IP. (Waited 24 hours) Update the nameserver for mydomain.com.au: primary ns0.mydomain.com.au secondary: ns2.mydomain.com.au (waited 24+ hours) Installed Server 2008 R2, install web server role and DNS role. Webserver works when I enter my public IP into browser of any PC/mobile, get IIS7 welcome page. In DNS server: Created new forward lookup zone: ; ; Database file mydoman.com.au.dns for mydomain.com.au zone. ; Zone version: 10 ; @ IN SOA mydomain.com.au. mydomain.testdomain.com. ( 10 ; serial number 900 ; refresh 600 ; retry 86400 ; expire 3600 ) ; default TTL ; ; Zone NS records ; @ NS ns0.mydomain.com.au. @ NS ns1.mydomain.com.au. ; ; Zone records ; @ A 192.168.1.16 www A 192.168.1.16 The Domain name services will however not work, the whois database updated with ns0.mydomain.com.au etc. but when I type in my site name www.mydomain.com.au from an external machine it will not open site and I can't even ping it (Can't find host) When I check the ns0.mydomain.com.au NS record using a tool Like: http://www.squish.net/dnscheck/ I get: Security: Server ns0.mydomain.com.au (XXX.XXX.XXX.XX <- my public IP) is recursive Domain exists but there is no such record Any ideas, thanks...

  • Mac OSX 10.8 Server DNS Domain Routing

    - by Oldek
I just cant seem to figure out the logic in how to configure my Mac Server. So I have set up an DNS, which will take the domain and all subdomains and point towards an IP. File: db.mydomain.com (in /var/named/) mydomain.com. 10800 IN SOA mydomain.com. admin.mydomain.com. ( 2012110903 ; serial 3600 ; refresh (1 hour) 900 ; retry (15 minutes) 1209600 ; expire (2 weeks) 86400 ; minimum (1 day) ) 10800 IN NS mydomain.com. 10800 IN A 10.0.1.2 www.mydomain.com. 10800 IN A 10.0.1.2 So I want all of these requests to be requested to the 10.0.1.2 server, as I run 2 servers in my cluster. This one has always handled the requests, and now I want to add a server in between. So the server in between will get all the signals from my router which NAT the trafic coming from outside. So after setting this up and trying to point my port 80 towards my new server which will be the middle point, it doesn't work. Is it even possible to do it this way? First server: Mac Second server: Linux So what I try to achieve once more: 1. User goes to mydomain.com or www.mydomain.com 2. User request gets handled by my first server 3. First server refers to a local server, which is only available locally (it is configured to allow requests on port 80 and handle them) 4. Second server receives signal 5. Second server returns a request (either directly send to user or send through first server, whichever is most secure and configurable) I also want to be able to set up domains that lead to other servers in the future, and some that are only available within the VPN. (If that changes anything) I hope some kind soul could help me with this, it is really cumbersome for my mind to get the logic here. Do I have to configure my other server in any way? /Marcus

  • How to remove MySQL completely with config and library files?

    - by codeartist
I tried everything till now: sudo apt-get remove mysql-server mysql-client mysql-common sudo apt-get purge mysql-server mysql-client mysql-common sudo apt-get autoremove and even more commands... But whenever I am trying to locate mysql. I get a no. of files related to mysql command: shell>> locate mysql Output: /etc/mysql /etc/apparmor.d/usr.sbin.mysqld /etc/apparmor.d/abstractions/mysql /etc/apparmor.d/cache/usr.sbin.mysqld • Start a Mapping or Process Flow from OWB Browser

    - by Dong Ruirong
Basically, we start a Mapping or Process Flow from Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB) Design Client. But actually we can also start a Mapping or Process Flow from OWB Browser. This paper will introduce the Start Report first and then introduce how to start/rerun a Mapping or Process Flow from OWB Browser. Start Report Start Report is used to start an execution of a Mapping or Process Flow. So there are two kinds of Start Report: Mapping Start Report (See Figure 1) and Process Flow Start Report (See Figure 2). Start Report shows the Mapping or Process Flow identification properties, including latest deployment and latest execution, lists all execution parameters for the Mapping or Process Flow, which were specified by the latest deployment, and assigns parameter default values from the latest deployment specification. You can do a couple of things from Start Report: Sort execution parameters on name, category. Table 1 lists all parameters of a Mapping. Table 2 lists all parameters of a Process Flow. Change values of any input parameter where permitted. For some parameters, selection lists are provided. For example, Mapping’s parameter Audit Level has a selection list. Reset all parameter settings to their default values. Apply basic validation to parameter values before starting an execution. Start the Mapping or Process Flow, which means it is executed immediately. Navigate to Deployment Report for latest deployment details of the Mapping or Process Flow. Navigate to Execution Job Report for latest execution of current Mapping or Process Flow Link to on-link help Warehouse Report Page, Deployment Report, Execution Report, Execution Schedule Report and Execution Summary Report. Figure 1 Mapping Start Report Table 1 Execution Parameters and default values for a Mapping Category Name Mode Input Value System Audit Level In Error Details System Bulk Size In 1000 System Commit Frequency In 1000 System EXECUTE_RESUME_TASK In FALSE System FORCE_RESUME_OPTION In FALSE System Max No of Errors In 50 System NUMBER_OF_TIMES_TO_RETRY In 2 System Operating Mode In Set Based Fail Over to Row Based System PARALLEL_LEVEL In 0 System Procedure Name In main System Purge Group In WB Figure 2 Process Flow Start Report Table 2 Execution Parameters and default values for a Process Flow Category Name Mode Input Value System EVAL_LOCATION In   System Item Key In-Out   System Item Type In PFPKG_1 Start a Mapping or Process Flow To navigate to Start Report, it’s better to login OWB Browser with Control Center option; if not, after logging in OWB Browser, go to Control Center first. Then you can follow the ways introduced in this section to navigate to Start Report. One more thing you need to pay attention to is that you are not allowed to deploy any Mappings and Process Flows from OWB Browser as it’s not supported. So it’s necessary to deploy the Mappings and Process Flows first before starting them from OWB Browser. If you have deployed a Mapping or Process Flow but have not started it, please navigate from Object Summary Report or Deployment Schedule Report to Start Report. 1. Navigating from Object Summary Report to Start Report Open the Object Summary Report to see all deployed Mappings and Process Flows. Click the Mapping Name or Process Flow Name link to see its Deployment Report. Select the Start link in the Available Reports tab for the given Mapping or Process Flow to display a Start Report for the Mapping or Process Flow. The execution parameters have the default deployment-time settings. Change any of the input parameter values as required. Click Start Execution button to execute the Mapping or Process Flow. 2. Navigating from Deployment Schedule Report to Start Report Open the Deployment Schedule Report to see deployment details of Mapping and Process Flow. Expand the project trees to find the deployed Mappings and Process Flows. Re-run a Mapping or Process Flow If you have executed a Mapping or Process Flow, you can navigate from Object Summary Report, Deployment Schedule Report, Execution Summary Report or Execution Schedule Report to Start Report. 1. Navigating from the Execution Summary Report to Start Report Open the Execution Summary Report to see all execution jobs including Mapping jobs and Process Flow jobs. Click on the Mapping Name or Process Flow Name to see its Execution Report. 2. Navigating from the Execution Schedule Report to Start Report Open the Execution Schedule Report to see list of all executions of Mapping and Process Flow. Click on the Mapping Name or Process Flow Name to see its Execution Report. If the execution of a Mapping or Process Flow is successful, you will see this message from the Start Report: Start Execution request successful. (See Figure 3) Figure 3 Execution Result You can also confirm the execution of the Mapping or Process Flow by referring to Execution Report of the current Mapping or Process Flow by clicking the link in the Available Reports tab for the given Mapping or Process Flow. One new record of execution job details is added to Execution Report of the Mapping or Process Flow which shows the details of the execution such as Start Time, Elapsed Time, Status, the number of records selected, inserted, updated, deleted etc.

  • GoldenGate 12c Trail Encryption and Credentials with Oracle Wallet

    - by hamsun
I have been asked more than once whether the Oracle Wallet supports GoldenGate trail encryption. Although GoldenGate has supported encryption with the ENCKEYS file for years, Oracle GoldenGate 12c now also supports encryption using the Oracle Wallet. This helps improve security and makes it easier to administer. Two types of wallets can be configured in Oracle GoldenGate 12c: The wallet that holds the master keys, used with trail or TCP/IP encryption and decryption, stored in the new 12c dirwlt/cwallet.sso file.   The wallet that holds the Oracle Database user IDs and passwords stored in the ‘credential store’ stored in the new 12c dircrd/cwallet.sso file.   A wallet can be created using a ‘create wallet’  command.  Adding a master key to an existing wallet is easy using ‘open wallet’ and ‘add masterkey’ commands.   GGSCI (EDLVC3R27P0) 42> open wallet Opened wallet at location 'dirwlt'. GGSCI (EDLVC3R27P0) 43> add masterkey Master key 'OGG_DEFAULT_MASTERKEY' added to wallet at location 'dirwlt'.   Existing GUI Wallet utilities that come with other products such as the Oracle Database “Oracle Wallet Manager” do not work on this version of the wallet. The default Oracle Wallet can be changed.   GGSCI (EDLVC3R27P0) 44> sh ls -ltr ./dirwlt/* -rw-r----- 1 oracle oinstall 685 May 30 05:24 ./dirwlt/cwallet.sso GGSCI (EDLVC3R27P0) 45> info masterkey Masterkey Name:                 OGG_DEFAULT_MASTERKEY Creation Date:                  Fri May 30 05:24:04 2014 Version:        Creation Date:                  Status: 1               Fri May 30 05:24:04 2014        Current   The second wallet file is used for the credential used to connect to a database, without exposing the user id or password. Once it is configured, this file can be copied so that credentials are available to connect to the source or target database.   GGSCI (EDLVC3R27P0) 48> sh cp ./dircrd/cwallet.sso $GG_EURO_HOME/dircrd GGSCI (EDLVC3R27P0) 49> sh ls -ltr ./dircrd/* -rw-r----- 1 oracle oinstall 709 May 28 05:39 ./dircrd/cwallet.sso   The encryption wallet file can also be copied to the target machine so the replicat has access to the master key to decrypt records that are encrypted in the trail. Similar to the old ENCKEYS file, the master keys wallet created on the source host must either be stored in a centrally available disk or copied to all GoldenGate target hosts. The wallet is in a platform-independent format, although it is not certified for the iSeries, z/OS, and NonStop platforms.   GGSCI (EDLVC3R27P0) 50> sh cp ./dirwlt/cwallet.sso $GG_EURO_HOME/dirwlt   The new 12c UserIdAlias parameter is used to locate the credential in the wallet so the source user id and password does not need to be stored as a parameter as long as it is in the wallet.   GGSCI (EDLVC3R27P0) 52> view param extwest extract extwest exttrail ./dirdat/ew useridalias gguamer table west.*; The EncryptTrail parameter is used to encrypt the trail using the Advanced Encryption Standard and can be used with a primary extract or pump extract.
