    I have a game loop like this: #The velocity of the object velocity_x = 0.09 velocity_y = 0.03 #If the location of the object is over 5, bounce off. if loc_x > 5: velocity_x = (velocity_x * -1) if loc_y > 5: velocity_y = (velocity_y * -1) #Every frame set the object's position to the old position plus the velocity obj.setPosition([(loc_x + velocity_x),(loc_y + velocity_y),0]) Basically, my problem is that in the if loops, I change the variable from its original value to the inverse of its old value. But because I declare the variable's value at the beginning of the script, the velocity variables don't stay on what I change it to. I need a way to change the variable's value permanently.     Is it possible to configure CruiseControl.NET to send an email to the user(s) that did modifications to a broken build by mapping their SVN username to the corresponding Active-Directory alias (hence retrieving the correct, updated email address). Our SVN server is set-up to allow users of a certain Active-Directory group to read and commit changes: I don't want to have to maintain the CruiseControl.NET config every time a user gets added to our Programmers group in Active-Directory.   • Problems with PHP System_Daemon and IMAP connection.

    I'm trying to create a PHP daemon that connects to an IMAP server and processes emails as they come in. I have it close to working, but the daemon keeps grabbing the original emails that it finds the first time the daemon is loaded. I believe the reason is because I'm opening the IMAP connection in the parent process. Example below: if ($imapConnection=imap_open($authhost,$user,$pass) or die()) { //start daemon while() { //Grab email headers $imapHeaders = imap_headers($imapConnection); $count = sizeof($imapHeaders) //loop the emails for($i = 1; $i <= $count, $i++) { //process the email //delete the email } System_Daemon::iterate(15); } } imap_close($imapConnection); I'd like to stay away from putting the IMAP connection within the loop. How can I keep the connection to the IMAP server outside of the loop and still get new emails?

    So I wrote a project-management program for a small business using Microsoft Access 2007. Now they've requested lots of additional features (timekeeping, privileged data tiers ...) I personally use Linux, but the whole office uses Windows. I'm relatively new to programming but like to teach myself using projects like this. I'm right on the edge on this -- I can't really tell what the path of least resistance here is: do I stay in access + VBA and teach myself a dying, annoying language -- while struggling against all the limitations of Access? Or do I move to something else? Python seems simple enough ... Whatever I use, i need to be able to offer a GUI.

  • Jboss logging issue - pl check this

    I’m Working as deployer and server administrator. We use Jboss 4.0x AS to deploy our applications. The issue I'm facing is, Whenever we redeploy/restart the server, server.log is getting created but after sometime the logging goes off. Yes it is not at all updating the server.log file. Due to this, we could not trace the other critical issues we have. Actually we have two separate nodes and we do deploy/restarting the server separately on two nodes. We are facing the issue in both of our test and production environment. I could not trace out where exactly the issue is. Could you please help me in resolving the issue? If we have any other issues, we can check the log files. If log itself is not getting updated/logged, how can we move further in analyzing the issues without the recent/updated logs?   • Windows Mobile camera capture issue with DirectShow

    I wrote a C# application that uses DirectShow to allow users to take photos with the camera attached to a Windows Mobile 6 phone. The problem I spotted out is that the preview functionality stops working after a period of not using it. How could I determine what's causing this ? Is there a timeout in Windows registry that tells how much time the camera should stay on ? This is very strange as my code runs perfect when turning on/off the camera quickly enough (i.e. not letting the camera off more than ~15 seconds).

My question is how can I return a dictionary?

  • WPF MVVM Property Change Animation

    I am looking for a clean way to start an animation that will have dynamic values. Basically I want to do an animation where an element changes width based on the data of another element. Say I have a TextBlock that's Text Property is Binding. When this property changes I want a visual element say a Rectangle for our sake to do a DoubleAnimation changing the width from previous value to the new value. I am trying to stay away from putting code in my view if possible. I've looked into DataTriggers but they seem to require that you know what the value would be such as an Enum. In my case it is just the value changing that needs to trigger a storyboard and the animation would need to start at the current(previous) value and move nicely to the new value. Any ideas. Maybe I just missed a property.

    Slashdot has a little widget that allows you to tweak your comment threshold to filter out down-modded comments. It will be in one place if you scroll to the top of the page, and as you scroll down, at some point, where its original home is about to scroll off the page, it will switch to fixed position, and stay on your screen. (To see an example, click here.) My question is, how can I accomplish the same effect of having a menu be in one place when scrolled up, and switch to fixed position as the user scrolls down? I know this will involve a combination of CSS and javascript. I'm not necessarily looking for a full example of working code, but what steps will my code need to go through?

    I know that javascript doesn't have pointers in terms of a variable referring to a place in memory but what I have is a number of variables which are subject to change and dependent on each other. For example: Center (x,y) = (offsetLeft + width/scale , offsetTop + height/scale) As of now I have rewritten the equation in terms of each individual variable and after any changes I call the appropriate update function. For example: If scale changes, then then the center, height, and width stay the same. So I call updateoffset() { offsetLeft = centerx - width/scale; offsetTop = centery - height/scale; } Is this the easiest way to update each of these variables when any of them changes?

  • Android: scaling a button with a background image.

    I'm probably just being daft but my Google searches are not working out well. I have a bunch of buttons i add in code that all have dynamic text. I've set a background image for each of these buttons since the default greybutton doesn't work well for my application. This works perfectly and when the text size (or content) changes, the button automatically grows to accommodate the expanded text. What doesn't work is that I'd like the button to scale proportionally - i.e. if the background image is round, i'd like it to stay round rather than oval as the button gets bigger. With an imagebutton, there is a property "Adjust view bounds" that does exactly this but I cant put text on an imagebutton. Is there something equivalent for a regular button? or am I going about this wrong? i also tried setting the width of the button in code, but I can't seem to determine the new height (button.getHeight() returns 0)
