    I have a Java bean ala @XmlRootElement public class Bean { @XmlElementWrapper(name = "ints") @XmlElement(name = "int") int[] values; // constructors, getters, setters, etc... } JAXB is producing XML like <bean> <ints> <int>12</int> <int>34</int> <int>56</int> </ints> </bean> I would like the array indices to be included on the <int> tags as array position conveys important value. Preferably as attributes like <bean> <ints> <int id='0'>12</int> <int id='1'>34</int> <int id='2'>56</int> </ints> </bean> Is there a way to do this?

    hey people hope all is well.. i am trying to create a form in VS using ASP that when upon submitting a form the details will get automatically stored in an xml file which can be accessed later on a chosen file save path i have 2 files ... "Contact.aspx" and "Contact.aspx.vb" i have created the form in the "Contact.aspx" and when trying to enter the fields in the "contact.aspx.vb" i keep getting several errors such as for example... Error 5 'Formatting' is not a member of 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.XmlBuilder' Error 6 'WriteStartDocument' is not a member of 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.XmlBuilder'. Error 7 'WriteComment' is not a member of 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.XmlBuilder'. Error 8 'WriteStartElement' is not a member of 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.XmlBuilder'. Error 10 'WriteAttributeString' is not a member of 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.XmlBuilder'. there is like 30 errors in total... im literally stuck out my head been trying for 2 days now and can't grasp what im doing wrong ive tried even some of the tutorials online but loads of errors... hope some1 can fix this thank you

    I'm having trouble loading my level. I'm using Ogmo to create my level then I import it. I have no problem converting 0's and 1's into an Array, but I can't figure out how to do the same for -1's. It separates the "-" and the "1". Any help would be great.   • Debian network bridge configuration - /etc/network/interfaces

    I'm running a Lenny Xen dom0 hosting multiple virtual machines in a routed IP setup. To get an additional private subnet, I created the bridge xenbr0 in the dom0 with the following commands: brctl addbr xenbr0 ifconfig xenbr0 10.0.0.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 ifconfig xenbr0 up This works as expected, and domU interfaces are added to the bridge by Xen on VM start. My only problem is: how the heck do i specify this configuration in /etc/network/interfaces that it remains permanent and the bridge is available after a reboot? I tried the following config as found on a lot of tutorials: auto xenbr0 iface xenbr0 inet static address 10.0.0.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 network 10.0.0.0 broadcast 10.0.0.255 bridge_stp no I get 2 different errors, depending on if the bridge already exists or not. If it doesn't exist: root@dom0:~# brctl show bridge name bridge id STP enabled interfaces root@dom0:~# /etc/init.d/networking restart Reconfiguring network interfaces...if-up.d/mountnfs[eth0]: waiting for interface xenbr0 before doing NFS mounts (warning). SIOCSIFADDR: No such device xenbr0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device SIOCSIFNETMASK: No such device SIOCSIFBRDADDR: No such device xenbr0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device xenbr0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device Failed to bring up xenbr0. done. The bridge works fine when created manually, i just need the right config file entries. The most tutorials I found add some devices to the bridge in the config, is that maybe the problem why it is not working?     I'm attempting to get gitweb (git 1.8.4.2, via git instaweb) in a project dir on my Debian server to offer blame views. In my /etc/gitweb.conf: … # default logo, favicon, etc. settings $feature{'blame'}{'default'} = [1]; $feature{'pickaxe'}{'default'} = [1]; $feature{'snapshot'}{'default'} = ['tgz', 'txz', 'zip']; $feature{'highlight'}{'default'} = [1]; $feature{'pathinfo'}{'default'} = [1]; In my global config file: [gitweb] blame = true snapshot = tgz, txz, zip patches = 256 avatar = gravatar [instaweb] local = false httpd = apache2 -f port = 4321 In my project's .git/config file: [gitweb] blame = true And yet, when I try to load a git blame view (via hand-modifying the URL to http://myserversip:4321/?p=.git;a=blame;f=Tests/InchCoordProxyTests.m;h=b4b2…;hb=53b4, since blame action links don't show up): Doing a quick search for “Blame view not allowed” in the gitweb.cgi source reveals plainly that the gitweb_check_feature('blame') conditional is failing. What am I doing wrong? Or, is there a way to verbosely print out why gitweb is doing what it's doing (e.g. which config files were read, which settings were loaded from each file, etc.)?

  • Persuading openldap to work with SSL on Ubuntu with cn=config

    I simply cannot get this (TLS connection to openldap) to work and would appreciate some assistance. I have a working openldap server on ubuntu 10.04 LTS, it is configured to use cn=config and most of the info I can find for TLS seems to use the older slapd.conf file :-( I've been largely following the instructions here https://help.ubuntu.com/10.04/serverguide/C/openldap-server.html plus stuff I've read here and elsewhere - which of course could be part of the problem as I don't totally understand all of this yet! I suspect it is; openssl s_client -connect mydomain.com:636 -showcerts CONNECTED(00000003) 916:error:140790E5:SSL routines:SSL23_WRITE:ssl handshake failure:s23_lib.c:188: I think I've made all my certificates etc OK and here are the results of some checks; If I do this; certtool -e --infile /etc/ssl/certs/ldap_cacert.pem I get Chain verification output: Verified. certtool -e --infile /etc/ssl/certs/mydomain.com_slapd_cert.pem Gives "certtool: the last certificate is not self signed" but it otherwise seems OK? Where have I gone wrong? Surely getting openldap to run securely on ubuntu should be easy and not require a degree in rocket science! Any ideas?

  • What is a good way to store tilemap data?

    I'm developing a 2D platformer with some uni friends. We've based it upon the XNA Platformer Starter Kit which uses .txt files to store the tile map. While this is simple it does not give us enough control and flexibility with level design. Some examples: for multiple layers of content multiple files are required, each object is fixed onto the grid, doesn't allow for rotation of objects, limited number of characters etc. So I'm doing some research into how to store the level data and map file. This concerns only the file system storage of the tile maps, not the data structure to be used by the game while it is running. The tile map is loaded into a 2D array, so this question is about which source to fill the array from. Reasoning for DB: From my perspective I see less redundancy of data using a database to store the tile data. Tiles in the same x,y position with the same characteristics can be reused from level to level. It seems like it would simple enough to write a method to retrieve all the tiles that are used in a particular level from the database. Reasoning for JSON/XML: Visually editable files, changes can be tracked via SVN a lot easier. But there is repeated content. Do either have any drawbacks (load times, access times, memory etc) compared to the other? And what is commonly used in the industry?   • Qmail Toaster and Squirrelmail SSL config location.

    I've been racking my brain and Google to try and find where the location of the SSL config is located for my Qmail / Squirrelmail install. I've installed SSL certs for Apache before, where I specify inside of the proper virtualhost section where the SSL cert is located, but am unable to find it for the services above. Inside of the httpd.conf, there are two include file additions which are for Qmail Toaster and Squirrelmail, but when I edit the files, they don't specify locations for the SSL cert they're using. thanks for the help!

  • Versioning millions of files with distributed SCM

    I'm looking into the feasibility of using off-the-shelf distributed SCMs such as Git or Mercurial to manage millions of XML files. Each file would be a commercial transaction, such as a purchase order, that would be updated perhaps 10 times during the lifecycle of the transaction until it is "done" and changes no more. And by "manage", I mean that the SCM would be used to not just version the files, but also to replicate them to other machines for redundancy and transfer of IP. Lets suppose, for the sake of example, that a goal is to provide good performance if it was handling the volume of orders that Amazon.com claimed to have at its peak in December 2010: about 150,000 orders per minute. We're expecting the system to be distributed over many servers in order to get reasonable performance. We're also planning to use solid-state drives exclusively. There is a reason why we don't want to use an RDBMS for primary storage, but it's a bit beyond the scope of this question. Does anyone have first-hand experience with the performance of distributed SCMs under such a load, and what strategies were used? Open-source preferred, since the final product is to be FOSS, too.

  • Accessing a Web Service: Learning Resource needed

    I have been searching for resources to learn (Java) Web Services. Although I have found a lot of resources and tutorials on JWS, I am confused with the version numbers, the abbreviations and Metro. Plus the last update to Metro was in 2008. Is it a worthwile thing to learn? I wanted to learn how to access Web Services, since an upcoming project is about accessing one. I have some experience with OAuth on Twitter(using code available). Things I know about the project: I have to access a Web Service. Java is the preferred platform to use(Although I know I can use any). Axis can be used to access the Web Service(I have never used Axis) I have a meeting scheduled to learn more, but I sure don't want to look silly since I am no Java expert, have never created or accessed Web Services using Java. My Questions: 1.Can someone point me to a tutorial which will help me learn how to access a already running Web Service (Preferably SOAP(?), not REST. It's XML based) 2. Will you recommend using PHP or Python to do the work of accessing the web service? I am expecting a lot of nay saying, but I hope I get some answers too. I will clarify things if needed.

    I have been battling with .htaccess rules to get my SSL setup working right for the past few days.I get a requested URL not found error whenever I try access any requests that does not do through the index controller. For example this URL would work fine if I enter the it manually https://www.example.com/index.php/auth/register However my application has been built in such a way that the url should be this https://www.example.com/auth/register and that gives the requested URL not found error My other URLs such as https://www.example.com/index/faq https://www.example.com/index/blog https://www.example.com/index/terms work just fine. What rule do I need to write in my htaccess to get the URL https://www.example.com/auth/register working?   • Getting the relational table data into XML recursively

    I have levels of tables (Level1, Level2, Level3, ...) For simplicity, we'll say I have 3 levels. The rows in the higher level tables are parents of lower level table rows. The relationship does not skip levels however. E.g. Row1Level1 is parent of Row3Level2, Row2Level2 is parent of Row4Level3. Level(n-1)'s parent is always be in Level(n). Given these tables with data, I need to come up with a recursive function that generates an XML file to represent the relationship and the data. E.g. <data> <level levelid = 1 rowid=1> <level levelid = 2 rowid=3 /> </level> <level levelid = 2 rowid=2> <level levelid = 3 rowid=4 /> </level> </data> I would like help with coming up with a pseudo-code for this setup.   • Why doesn't libxml2 support XPath 2.0?

    Libxml2 is the faster, stable and most popular "open DOM engine"... And the "XML C parser and toolkit of Gnome". The initial release of Libxml2 was September 1999, 13 years ago. XPath v1.0 was also released at 1999. XPath v2.0 became a recommendation on January 2007, 6 years ago. We can suppose that the Libxml2 community have time and people to develop a XPath2... So, what is the problem? Why doesn't libxml2 (or a "libxml2 fork" or an "experimental lib"!) support XPath 2.0? Some raised hypotheses to discussion at answers, Because Libxml2 community (and Gnome community) dislikes and have no motivation to develop something to XPath2 or xQuery. 1.1. XPath2 needs (by mathematical proof) a very heavy parser, much slower, etc. that is not suitable to real-world Libxml2 applications. 1.2. Other "ideologic" dislikes/motivations. Because it is written with C, and for XPath2 is better to develop with C++. Because the above hypothesis of "Libxml2 community have time and people" is false. Because XPath2 became stable in 2010 with its "Second Edition" release, and ~2.5 years is not (?) enough time.

    I am running Nginx 1.5.6 and I use the Simple Machines Forum software. Most rewrite rules seem to work properly, with the exception of the RSS feeds. In my Nginx configuration, I have the following line which is supposed to handle URLs which contain ".xml": rewrite ^/forum/(\.xml|xmlhttp)/?$ "/forum/index.php?pretty;action=$1" last; The above rule produces the following URL for the main forum, which returns a 403 Error: http://www.mydomain.com/forum/.xml/?type=rss I would like the rewrite rule to produce this type of URL, which returns code 200 (a real page): http://www.mydomain.com/forum/?type=rss;action=.xml Here is the entire block pertaining to the forum rewrites: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=tZkAibW3 I would really appreciate some help to create a rewrite rule to do that.   • Can't uninstall trial version of Expression Blend 3, error writing to file Config.msi

    I can not remove a trial version of MS Expression Blend 3 from my pc. I am always getting the same error: "Error writing to C:\Config.msi\6e6288.rbf." The name of the file varies. On the error message window there are two buttons: "Retry" and "Cancel", but clicking on any of them gives the same result - uninstall is cancelled and everything is rolling back. I tried to change access permissions to that folder in many ways, but result all the same.

  • MongoDB: ReplicaSet slower than a corresponding Master/Slave config

    Is it true that a mongoDB configured as a replicaset (lets say two nodes + an arbiter) will always be slower than the same DB and server specs but configured as a Master? I've run some tests and found out that for a fresh DB, RS is a little quicker than Master/Slave config but when the DB is getting bigger than ~100k records the latter is getting much snappier. am I missing something here? PS: I was testing it with mongoid driver for ruby.

  • Using SQL tables for storing user created level stats. Is there a better way?

    I am developing a racing game in which players can create their own tracks and upload them to a server. Players will be able to compare their best track times to their friends and see world records. I was going to generate a table for each track submitted to store the best times of each player who plays the track. However, I can't predict how many will be uploaded and I imagine too many tables might cause problems, or is this a valid method? I considered saving each player's best times in a string in a single table field like so: level1:00.45;level2:00.43;level3:00.12 If I did this I wouldn't need a separate table for each level (each level could just have a row in a 'WorldRecords' table). However, this just causes another problem because the text would eventually reach the limit for varchar length. I also considered storing the times data in XML files. This would avoid database issues and server disk space can be increased if needed. But I imagine this would be very slow. To update one players best time on one level, I would have to check every node in the file to find their time record to update. Apologies for the wall of text. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
