• Unable to connect to Samba printer

  I have a headless Ubuntu 12.04 server for files and printers. It shares files via Samba just fine. However, the HP PSC-750xi connected to the server via USB is not accessible from my Ubuntu 12.04 laptop. I can browse for it in the Printing control panel, but any attempt to authenticate my ID to the printer with my user credentials results in the error "This print share is not accessible". I have included the Samba smb.conf file below. Any help appreciated. Thanks... • Server 2008 Task Scheduler Mapped Drive Access C#

  I'm trying do get Server 2008's Task Scheduler to run a C# console app which backs up data to a mapped backup drive somewhere on FastHosts network. I've written a test app which simply does this Directory.CreateDirectory("Z:\" + DateTime.Now.Ticks.ToString()); i.e. just creates a directory on the root of this Z drive. This works fine when I just run the .exe but when I schedule it in Task Scheduler it says the task has completed with return code 3762507597 - I can't find any info on what this means. I'm running the task with the highest Admin privelages as far as I can see.

• Subdomains on Windows Azure

  Hi, I've got a Windows Azure project I'm working on. It has two web roles - one is a public-facing site, and the second is an administration site for my customer to make changes to the database etc. I had expected to be able to use a subdomain for each role - so for example have mysite.com and admin.mysite.com (obviously CNAME-mapped to the .cloudapp.net DNS name). However it looks like Azure doesn't do this, and instead has one subdomain (mysite.com) with different ports for each web role. So, for example, I would have mysite.com:80 for the main public site, and mysite.com:8080 for the administration. Is this correct? Is there no way I can have subdomains for particular web roles?   Hi, I'm trying to get authentication and authorisation working in an ASP .NET MVC2 site. I've read loads of tutorials and some books which explain how you can use attributes to require authorisation (and membership in a role) like this: [Authorize(Roles="Admin")] public ActionResult Index() { return View(); } I've made classes that implement IIdentity and IPrincipal, I create a userPrincipal object once the user has successfully logged in and I add it to a session variable. When the user goes to another page I want it to set the HttpContext.Current.User to the object that I stored in the session, something like this: if (Session["User"] != null) { HttpContext.Current.User = Session["User"] as MyUser; } My question is: Where abouts do I put the code directly above? I tried Application_AuthenticateRequest but it tells me Session state is not available in this context. Many thanks.

• Missing IUSR account on Windows Server 2008 R2 / IIS7.5

  Ok, I'm stumped. I've been given the job of installing PHP5.4 on this machine. One of the manual installation steps is to configure the IUSR account to have specific permissions. The problem is, I see the IIS_IUSRS group, but no IUSR account. The only users listed are the Admin user, a Guest account, and a user for the security software. I'm not really the Windows server type, more of a *NIX guy - so this is getting a little frustrating. I've searched everywhere and haven't found a suitable answer, but I have learned a lot about IIS7.5 - so it hasn't been a total waste of time. I've tried several recommendations and found several similar problems, but nothing has worked so far. I've also just tried making the IUSR account myself, but to no avail. If anyone knows how to get this going, I will be ever so grateful.

I have to have a server admin update the feed to my liking, so if you can tell me how to get this to work as is, without adding tags to my HTML please let me know. I will be using this with jQuery, and ive been trying to use getJSON which is what returns null. $.getJSON('http://portlandonline.com/shared/cfm/json.cfm?c=27321',function(json){ alert(json); }); that returns null. But if i use a flickr feed for example, it works fine. it returns what it should, [onject Object]. Any ideas?

  Hi All, I'm currently struggling with this "Collection was modified; enumeration operation may not execute" issue. I have searched about this error message, and it's all related to the foreach statement. I do have the some foreach statements, but they are just simply representing the data. I did not using any remove or add inside the foreach statement. NOTE: The error randomly happens (about 4-5 times a day). The application is the MVC website. There are about 5 users operate this applications (about 150 orders a day). Could it be some another users modified the collection, and then occur this error? • WAMP Apache 403 Forbidden error

  I have recently changed from Windows XP to Windows 7 and have reinstalled WAMP server on my localhost testing pc. I have copied over my backup site too and this is working correctly. I have installed tinyMCE javascript editor as well as ajaxfilemanager. Everything works except when accessing a file i get the following error: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /catalog/admin/includes/javascript/tinymce/plugins/ajaxfilemanager/ajaxfilemanager.php on this server. I can access this file/folder through Windows explorer and all other parts of my site works (php, js in other section etc). Thanks for any help!

• Sharing SharePoint Lists across sites without SharePoint Designer

  The problem I've been having is how to show a list from one sub-site to another. I don't have server admin privileges so I am unable to use SharePoint Designer to edit any part of the site. The situation: One parent page with two sub-sites. sub-site #1 has a list on it with several text columns, and one column to be used as a 'visible' column. sub-site #2 has to show a view of the list on sub-site #1 filtering on the 'visible' column The two solutions I've found are to create a linked list in SharePoint Designer directly, or use a Content Query Web Part, edit the part to show the correct columns, and use SharePoint Designer to edit the item style to actually display the proper information. Is there any way to accomplish this without using SharePoint Designer?

I ran the sample application by appengine-java-sdk\bin\dev_appserver.cmd appengine-java-sdk\demos\guestbook\war Then I visited localhost:8080 to find : HTTP ERROR 500 Problem accessing /. • QuickReport throws "There Is No Default Printer Currently Selected" Exception

  I have created a Delphi Service which prints TQuickReports. Everything works fine if compiled and run as a Windows Application. But when converted to operate as a service trying to create a form containing a TQuickRep component throws the exception. This service runs fine on many other boxes but not this one in particular. Here are some details: Using QuickReport version 4.07 Box is a Windows Server 2008 operating system. Using Delphi 2007 Printer.Printers.Count is returning a positive value. In fact I can list out all of the printers. I have tried running the service both using Local System Account and Logged on as an Admin.
