• Why aren't IOKit notifications being delivered with this code?

  I wrote this code to subscribe to USB devices being plugged in and unplugged; the point is for IOKit to deliver notifications to my iAttached() and iDetached() functions when the corresponding events occur. However, I don't get notifications. The code can be seen here: http://gist.github.com/402391 I didn't want to over-populate this page with it, as it is moderately long.

• Can someone execute a php function in my library but not called on the viewed page???

  Let's say I have a php file, test.php with 2 functions: test1() and test2(). If I have an external php file, index.php, with include(test.php) in its code. If in the index.php file has a reference to test1() but not test2(), is there any way that someone would be able to execute test2() by doing something malicious while using the index.php file?

  I have been playing with this webbrowser control example I got it working and added some timers using ON_WM_TIMER. Now I would like to access the m_Browser (CWebBrowser class instance) defined inside the protected CMyBrowserView class into a different class. (for example CMyBrowserApp in the code sample) and use .Navigate and other functions. How can I do this? (im using visual studio 6 c++)

• How to check if String value is Boolean type in Java?

  I did a little search on this but couldn't find anything useful. The point being that if String value is either "true" or "false" the return value should be true. In every other value it should be false. I tried these: String value = "false"; System.out.println("test1: " + Boolean.parseBoolean(value)); System.out.println("test2: " + Boolean.valueOf(value)); System.out.println("test3: " + Boolean.getBoolean(value)); All functions returned false :(

  Hi there, i run a C++ app from objective-c I can successfully symbolicate my function names using Shark profiler but not with the Object Allocations instrument.à In the detailed pane, i only see my C++ app name with the hexadecimal value for my C++ functions. I tried to do a "File/Re-Symbolicate Document", selecting my app folder containing both my app and my Dsym file but nothing change. Any clues?   Hello all, I am just reading this article and I came across this: Filter: Remove any functions in the WHERE clause, don't include views in your Transact-SQL code, may need additional indexes. If I do not use views, what are the alternatives?   Is there any functionality in IDL that will allow it to evaluate a a string as code? Or, failing that, is there a nice, dynamic way of including /KEYWORD in functions? For example, if I wanted to ask them for what type of map projection the user wants, is there a way to do it nicely, without large if/case statements for the /Projection_Type keyword it needs? With even a small number of user options, the combinations would cause if/case statements to get out of hand very quickly to handle all the possible options.

• remove utf-8 figure spaces with php

  I have some xml files with figure spaces in it, I need to remove those with php. The utf-8 code for these is e2 80 a9. If I'm not mistaken php does not seem to like 6 byte utf-8 chars, so far at least I'm unable to find a way to delete the figure spaces with functions like preg_replace. Anybody any tips or even better a solution to this problem?
