  • Problem with a call button - doesn't open tel:// URL

    I am trying to make a call button that will call 18 which is Fire Dept in France. So my code is : [[UIApplication sharedApplication] openURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@"tel://18"]]; It doesn't work and I get this message in the console : < warning Ignoring unsafe request to open URL tel://18 But I saw other application that have the same button fully working ! I am trying this on the device of course. What am I missing ?

  • Why is lua crashing after extracting zip files?

  • Sending Mail using PHP on IIS 7 - Windows 2008 Server

    Hi, I'm having trouble sending mail using PHP mail() on IIS 7 using Windows 2008 Server. The server is dedicated, thus I have full control over my machine. php.ini looks fine - ([mail function] is configured) I don't get any error from mail() (with the right parameters of course) btw - I got ASP and ASP.NET sending mails without any problems.     In a day or two I'll be ready to submit my iPhone app to the AppStore and I'm curious whether people who have gone through this process have any tips / suggestions for a smooth submission process. Here's things I've covered; No memory leaks Tested performance on an actual device Doesn't crash :) Using correct certificates / profile What I'm a little unsure about are how to configure the "Bundle Display Name" /"Bundle Identifier" and "Bundle Name" in info.plist. I understand the first is the text that's shown on the iPhone itself, but what about the last? Does this have to match Bundle Identifier? Are there any other things I should add to the info.plist? I've noticed that when built for Adhoc distribution my app does not have any author/title information in iTunes.

    Hi, I want to raise the: private void txtbox_startdate_Validating(object sender, System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs e) {} Function from a key leave event. The leave event looks like: private void txtbox_startdate_Leave(object sender, EventArgs e) {} The trouble is of course if I try and call it in this manner: txtbox_startdate_Validating(sender, e) An error is raised because in this case 'e' is an EventArgs whereas the validation function wants a System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs and so, how do I convert EventArgs to a System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs or create one so that I can call my validation function? I don't know why, I followed all instructions to link the libraries and nothing seems to be working. I might be missing something simple through my anger (I've been trying to run sample code for a week, nothing has been working), so can anybody throw me a bone?

  • How to use R-Tree for plotting large number of map markers on google maps

    After searching SO and multiple articles I haven't found a solution to my problem. What I am trying to achieve is to load 20,000 markers on Google Maps. R-Tree seems like a good approach but it's only helpful when searching for points within the visible part of the map. When the map is zoomed out it will return all of the points and...crash the browser. There is also the problem with dragging the map and at the end of dragging re-running the query. I would like to know how I can use R-Tree and be able to achieve the all of the above.

  • Letting users trial your web app before sign-up: sessions or temp db?

    I've seen a few instances now where web applications are letting try them out without you having to sign-up (though to save you need to of course). example: trial at http://minutedock.com/ I'm wondering about doing this for my own web app and the fundamental question is whether to store their info into sessions or into a temp user table? The temp user table would allow logging and potentially be less of a hit on the server correct? Is there a best practice here?

  • .NET / WPF Alternative

    I know the .NET framework and WPF pretty well, but I think the whole thing has gotten too blown up, especially for small apps as the whole .NET framework 3.5 weighs 197 MB by now. I am looking for a language/framework/library that provides functionality similar to that of WPF (animations, gradients, a.s.o.) and the .NET framework (of course not everything, but the basic features) and which is faster and more lightweight than the .NET framework and creates smaller and faster applications than the ones using .NET. Do you have any suggestions?

  • How to wire a verifier to a 2.0m5 Restlet using the spring extension and an xml config?

    I can't seem to find any example of how to do this. Imperatively in java it would be a piece of cake of course, but I can't seem to figure out how to inject my JaasVerifier into my SpringComponent declaratively from within the xml. It appears from the method signatures that Verifier is designed to be attached to Context, but the instance of Context itself is created as a side effect of the SpringComponent creation so I can't get a hold of it in Spring. There must be something I am missing.

  • How to retrieve the size of a file before uploading it?

    I have an file input tag in my web app. I'd like to check that the file isn't too big before sending it to the server. Of course, I still have validation server side. Is there any way to do this with JavaScript? It must work in IE7+ and FF3+. Thank you. EDIT: somefileinputobject.files[0].filesize works in FF, but not IE.

In pseudo code, something like: def otherMap = [hi: "world"] foo("bar", hi: "bye", otherMap*) So that it prints [hi:world] This doesn't work of course. Also, trying to pass just the map mixes the order of arguments: def otherMap = [hi: "world"] foo("bar", otherMap) will print bar How can I fix this?

  • Drupal: Renumbering node ids

    Having spent some time migrating old data into a new drupal site, my first node id is already into the 4 digit territory. Has anyone had any experience in this position of renumbering node ids starting from #1? Maybe using direct queries on the database, or a module that traverses and renumbers all the nodes? Of course, nodereferences have to be preserved... are there any other potential hangups if I try to script this?

  • IconDownloader, problem with lazy downloading

    My problem is simple to be described but it seems to be hard to solve. The problem is loading icons, with a custom class like IconDownloader.m provided by an official example from Apple, avoiding crashes if I release the view. I've added the IconDownloader class to my app, but it's clear that this approach is good only if the tableview is the root. The big problem is when the view is not the root one. F.e: if I start to scroll my second view (the app now load the icons) and, without leaving it the time to finish the download, I go back to root, the app crash because the view that have to be updated with new icons doesn't exist anymore. One possible solution could be implement an OperationQueue in the view, but with this approach I've to stop the queue when I change the view and restart it when I come back and the idea to have N queues don't make me enthusiastic. Anyone found a good solution for this problem?

The SQL query: SELECT dato, SUM(pris*antall) AS total FROM produkt, ordre WHERE ordre.varenr = produkt.varenr GROUP BY dato HAVING total >= 10000 The relational algebra: stotal >= 10000( ?R(dato, total)( sordre.varenr = produkt.varenr( datoISUM(pris*antall(produkt x ordre)))) Is this the correct way of doing it?

    Have a simple console app where user is asked for several values to input. Input is read via console.readline(). Ex Name: Fred //string Lastname: Ashcloud //string Age: 28 //int I would like to make sure that int and double types are entered and if the user enters garbage, lets him repeat the procedure. Example, if the user enters "28 years old" where age expects int the app will crash. What is the best way to check for these inputs? Right now I can only think of: while (!Int32.TryParse(text, out number)) { Console.WriteLine("Error write only numbers"); text = Console.ReadLine(); } Is there any other way to do this? try catch statements if one wants to give a more detailed feedback to the user? How in that case?

  • Use Apache authentication in Django without popup

    I am using Apache to authenticate users for Django, but I would like to do so without the popup form that Apache uses in its basic configuration. How do I embed the login form within a page while still using Apache for authentication? That is, I'd like a page that says "Please login" and provides a form asking for username and password, and passes this information on to Apache for authentication. (I'd do this over an SSL connection, of course.)

  • Operating system scheduler question

    I recently asked myself: If a program, like Mozilla Firefox for example, is started - the control must be somehow given to it. But when the program crashes, why doesn't my whole system crash like in early Windows version? How can Windows take back the control from the program, or even not give it to it fully? (Note: This is not my homework; I go to school but in my informatics class are really only guys that would answer with "Can I eat that?" when I ask them about kernels. Same with my teacher.)
