Firebug Lite bookmarklet is no help here, on half the pages it doesn't even show up.
What I need is basically this:
to show what IE is connecting to, because my application is working fine in firefox and chrome, but in an enterprise/corporate environment, I have to get it working with IE as well, and it's not working there.
Any ideas of how I can get something similar just to see what the page is trying to (or not trying to) connect to? I'm using IE8 for this (on an windows XP machine, can't use IE9)
Or another similar program? All I want to do is record the sounds coming from say firefox, or any other app, for use as samples in music. I need to do this in both windows and linux (ubuntu 9.10).
I have looked through the preferences of audacity but didn't find anything that let me select the system sound. Perhaps I overlooked it, because I was able to do this with earlier versions of audacity.
my company share internet through two proxy server. without enterning proxy detail in program such as firefox, I don't have any access to internet. each proxy server bandwidth limit is 512kbps. how can i combine two proxy server traffic to get 1mbps bandwidth?

Hi,
I am running ubuntu 8.04. How can I configure my environment so that another user can log in to my machine and see my desktop and X programs (e.g. firefox) (i.e. ssh won't work for me).
Thank you.
A few weeks ago I came across a utility which listed good quality free/open source software and made it easy to install - stuff like Firefox, Open Office, GIMP etc....
...and now I can't find it. Clues gratefully received!
On firefox 3 on WinXP, Win7 and Ubuntu when I try to access www.OpenID.net it asks me to save a gzip archive. Is that normal ? I need to look at the documentation, is their an alternative sources ?
my PC is connected to 3 different networks: 2 different LAN connections and a VPN connection.
when i am connected to the vpn, i cannot browse to the LAN intranet as the DNS is all going through the vpn and it cannot see the domains on the LAN.
Is there a way to set firefox/chrome/etc to use a specific connection, so that i don't have to disconnect from vpn to get to the other intranets?
I am going to be administering a small network of linux based workstations for a charity institution (not all have the same distro- some are ubuntu and some are fedora). Is there something in Linux that is similar to group policy in windows?. For example I would like to standardize the wallpapers - have only firefox as a browser - default VLC as the media player etc etc.
Thank you, any suggestions are very appreciated.
I'm running Xubuntu, (actually linux mint with xfce on top, but I suppose it's essentially the same thing)
I set my appearance theme to (a modified version of) MurrinaStormCloud, but if I run gitk, it uses ugly font rendering, ugly colors, ugly widgets.
I think tcl is the thing to blame here, but can I fix it?
Here's a picture for comparison between what firefox looks like under the current theme and what gitk looks like:
I am trying to connect to connect to www.czebox.cz using internet explorer on Windows 2003 server.
If you have a server to test from please do, and you'll notice that it does not connect instead returns - Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage.
From Firefox it works fine on the server.
From Windows 7 it works fine in Internet Explorer.
How can I get it to work in Windows 2003 Server using IE?
Is there an easy way to add an RSS feed in Chrome to your Bloglines account?
There are add-ons for IE and Firefox that let you do this. Haven't seen anything for Chrome.
Is there some tool within Opera, or possibly an add-on, which will let me take a screenshot of an entire web page? I usually use Screengrab to do this with Firefox, but in this situation I want a screenshot of the page as Opera renders it (because I want to show the page as rendered with HTML5 form controls like date and time).
I am currently using Opera 10.60 x86_64 on Fedora 12, so solutions that work in browser would be preferable rather than external programs.
I need to install java (j2se sdk) on my computer for running a program (SQLDeveloper). All the write ups talk about installing the FireFox plug-in.
What do I have to do to get this installed?
I have a page with a bunch of HTML tables that I need to print.
Each table should fit on one page, but both Firefox and Safari want to break them over multiple pages and put more than one on a page.
Is there any way to force it to not break the tables across pages?
I can use any Mac program to print.
Thanks.
When opening a new window in finder, the new window will go below the screen. This is not a big deal, but when using macvim or terminal it can be annoying since your command prompt is now hidden. Firefox seems to be smarter, it never overlaps below the screen.
Same deal for the right hand side of the screen, windows often open with their right edge cut off. Is there any way to prevent this?
Using Ctrl+Tab in Internet Explorer 7 (on Windows XP) seems to follow no sequence that I can work out.
Using Shift+Ctrl+Tab even jumps around with no clear logic in what tab order is being followed.
It doesn't even work to the reverse as expected from using it in other programs, such as Firefox.
Please explain to me how this key combo works in IE7 because I can't figure it out.
I have just installed ubuntu 10.4 but when i open Firefox it takes lon timeto open and

Hi all,
I'm wondering if it's possible in Google Chrome (Mac) to display all the available "accesskey" keyboard shortcuts for a web page. What I would like to achieve is something like this for Firefox.
Win7 Home Prem 32-bit
I use Firefox as my browser of choice but my computer came with Internet Explorer pre-installed.
Is it safe to remove Internet Explorer from my computer completely or will this cause any problems?
When I type a single double quote, no character is displayed. if I type another character, the apostrophe and the next character appear at the same time. This applies to double quotes (") and apostrophes ('). What could possibly be causing this?
This occurs in all applications I have tested - wordpad, firefox, ms word etc.
I use firefox to visit a web server running on a computer on my LAN. I notice that sometimes TCP doesn't acknowledge the packets it receives. For example, in the following captured packets:
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B-LaBUj9KtQhS0RYNXF1RjZTa2M/edit?usp=sharing
the 7th 9th and 11th packets are duplicated ACK, the browser receives TCP packets 6,8 and 10, but the browser TCP stack doesn't acknowledge the received packets, why?
Hi everyone,
I need to download the demo videos at my office so that I can view it later at home since I have slow internet connection there but it seems to be no way to download the videos at [the site][1], and other resources in this site.
Using some of the firefox addons to download them is not possible. Do you have any tips for me? Please share.
