  • SQL Server 2005 transactional replication break before a configured number of retries

    We have a SQL Server 2000 Standard database with some tables being replicated (continuous transactional replication) to dozens of SQL Server 2005 Express and MSDE computers. The step 2 of the replication agent job (Run agent) is configured by default to retry every 1 minute for 10 times if some problem ocurr. Because the client machines get shut down at night (they are POS machines), we changed the number of retries to 5760 (4 days), so replication would not be broken at night and would not need to be restarted manually. But the problem is that every other day we have at least one machine with broken replication, with this error: The process could not connect to Subscriber 'POS986'. NOTE: The step was retried the requested number of times (5760) without succeeding. The step failed. It seems that SQL Server is not respecting the number of retries or the interval between retries as we configured. PS: I have restarted the replication job after changing the number of retries from 10 to 5760.

    I've just installed SQL Server 2008 Developer edition and I'm trying to connect using SQLCMD.exe, but I get the following error: H:\>sqlcmd.exe -S ".\SQL2008" Msg 18452, Level 14, State 1, Server DEVBOX\SQL2008, Line 1 Login failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication. Has anyone seen this before? Any idea what it means??

I'm not sure why, I haven't seen much documentation in php.net regarding this, plus google returned no real results. Does anyone have any idea ?

  • How do I avoid a repetitive subquery JOIN in SQL?

    Hi In SQL Server 2008: I have one table, and I want to do something along the following lines: SELECT T1.stuff, T2.morestuff from ( SELECT code, date1, date2 from Table ) as T1 INNER JOIN ( SELECT code, date1, date2 from Table ) as T2 ON T1.code = T2.code and T1.date1 = T2.date2 The two subqueries are exactly identical. Is there any way I can do this without repeating the subquery script? Thanks Karl

    my .bashrc has the following function function myfile { file $1 } export -f myfile it works fine when i call it directly rajesh@rajesh-desktop:~$ myfile out.ogv out.ogv: Ogg data, Skeleton v3.0 it does not work when i try to invoke it through exec rajesh@rajesh-desktop:~$ find ./ -name *.ogv -exec myfile {} \; find: `myfile': No such file or directory is there a way to call bash script functions with exec? What I need is a T-SQL script that I could simply execute that would have the same effect as calling the ExecuteNonQuery method on the command object. Is there an easy way to do such "script dump" or do I have to manually construct such script from the command object ?

    Hi, Is there any way to find particular C language function's input and output parameters from a framework (apple's ARM) during the runtime or from any method with out knowing the headers. It is a framework and there are no header files for it.I decompile it with IDA Pro and it gives me the function names but not input and output parameters information. I am able to load those private functions using dlsym. Is it possible to find the parameters info in runtime (C language or Objective C) or from IDA Pro ? Regards, Raghu
