Magento - Mage::getModel not working on remote server

I'm struggling with an issue for which I can't find an explanation. I have two development environments that I use for my projects. I created a simple module for Magento and I tested it on one environment. After overcoming all Magento's complications, the module works as expected. This is on XAMPP. I then copied the module to the development Linux environment, on a hosted server, and it crashes miserably. I did some debugging, and I found out that a call to Mage::getModel() returns bool(false) instead of the instance of the Model I requested. I double checked all files and directories, and they match. Database is not involved (not from my side, at least, I don't need tables) and both environments have only me as a User, with Admin permissions. Any suggestion on where should I start looking is welcome, thanks.

Form iteration function not working properly

My function is supposed to iterate all forms in the document, and bind an onclick function to each 'calculate' element int he form. The problem is, the function that executes on any of the click events executes in the context of the the last i in the loop. Why my :hover aren't working?

I have am nav, and when i hover some elements, the submenu should be displayed 'block', but this dont work. Serialization of Queue type not working

I.e to check if really the Queue is initialised or not. It is. The right variables are stored etc. (I inserted a value in that Queue, that part of the code is not shown.) But the second WriteLine is not giving the right expected answer: It serializes the entire Queue to 00-00-00.

I am trying to retrieve the AST from scala souce file. But the problem is the program does not exit. The prompt is not displayed after printing "exiting program". I have to use ^c to exit. Any idea what the problem might be

Embedded CSS Media Queries Not Working

I am new to CSS media queries, and I was first trying to get pdf/mp3/mp4 buttons to get centered on this page whenever a mobile device is using it (http://www.mannachurch.org/portfolio-type/recycled-junk/). Keep in mind for that I am using a highly modified wordpress theme. So I tried experimenting to isolate this issue. Our reads are getting screwed up because our code usually returns two (sometimes more, sometimes exactly one) message reads instead of one message read per actual message sent. Appending html code to a section inside a dialog window isn't working in IE6

I'm using jQuery's validation on a form. When the form is validated, I'm using a submitHandler to fill a dialog with data from the form then I open the dialog to display it. Works great except for in IE6. Nothing displays. I've tried initializing the dialog before and after running the validation code but neither makes a difference. ListView setOnItemClickListener in ListFragment not working

I am developing an app that uses ActionBar tabs to display a list of options through ListFragment. The list (and ListFragment) display without a problem, but the ListView's setOnItemClickListener doesn't seems to work, as nothing happens when an item in the list is clicked. Seeking not working in HTML5 audio tag

I have a lighttpd server running locally. If I load a static file on the server (through an html5 audio tag), it plays and seeks fine. However, seeking doesn't work when running a dev server (web.py/CherryPy) or if I return the bytes via a defined action url instead of as a static file. It won't load the duration either. According to the "HTTP byte range requests" section in this Opera Page it's something to do with support for byte range requests/partial content responses. The content is treated as streaming instead. What I don't understand is: If the browser has the whole file downloaded surely it can display the duration, and surely it can seek. What I need to do on the web server to enable byte range requests (for non-static urls). Any advice would be most gratefully received.

sigprocmask not working

I'm using sigprocmask as follows: void mask(){ sigset_t new_set,old_set; sigemptyset(&new_set); sigaddset(&new_set,SIGALRM); sigprocmask(SIG_BLOCK, &new_set, &old_set); } and to my surprise a function which prints a big list somehow gets interrupted by the signal, even though I invoke mask() at its beginning. It looks as if mask fails, since my function doesn't invoke any other functions and therefore nowhere in its run should an unmask() happen. What can cause sigprocmask to fail?

Working with multiple jQuery libraries and Prototype.

Ok, i saw some other posts about this sort of thing, but not exactly related. This is not what I want to do, but need to do unfortunately. We have in this order right now Prototype 1.6 jQuery 1.2.6 with noConflict on jQuery with j I need to add jQuery 1.4.2 in that mix as well. It will always be the last one loaded. No option. Is there anyway i can do this currently? I know this is not good, yada, yada, but it has to be done for now unfortunately. Thanks, Derek

Description Class for Navigation Links not working

My problem is with my navigation links. I've created a class for the links so that the link color is different from the typical links throughout. The problem is that the color defined in a:visited is taking precedence over the color defined in a:link. I've tried everything and can't work this out. Any suggestions?

Hi, I am trying to configure tomcat for HTTPS on localhost. I am using self signed certification. I added folowing line of code to server.xml. <Connector port="8443" protocol="HTTP/1.1" SSLEnabled="true" maxThreads="150" minSpareThreads="25" maxSpareThreads="75" enableLookups="false" disableUploadTimeout="true" acceptCount="100" debug="0" scheme="https" secure="true" clientAuth="false" sslProtocol="TLS" SSLEngine="on" keystoreFile="path-to-keystore" keystorePass="password" /> I am getting following error in browser: An error occurred during a connection to localhost:8443. Peer reports it experienced an internal error. (Error code: ssl_error_internal_error_alert) Can anybody guide me to proper direction. Thanks.

ASP.NET MVC & Windsor.Castle: working with HttpContext-dependent services

I have several dependency injection services which are dependent on stuff like HTTP context. Right now I'm configuring them as singletons the Windsor container in the Application_Start handler, which is obviously a problem for such services. What is the best way to handle this? I'm considering making them transient and then releasing them after each HTTP request. But what is the best way/place to inject the HTTP context into them? Controller factory or somewhere else?

If in a database (MySQL), I have a datetime column (ex. 1899-12-30 19:00:00), how do I sum 1 day to it? Following http://corelib.rubyonrails.org/classes/Time.html#M000240 If I want to add 1 day, it actually adds 60*60*24 days (86,400 days) r=Record.find(:first) =>Sat, 30 Dec 1899 19:00:00 -0600 r.date + (60*60*24) =>Fri, 20 Jul 2136 19:00:00 -0600 But if I do this it actually adds 1 day: t = Time.now =>Mon Jun 14 10:32:51 -0600 2010 t + (60 * 60 * 24) =>Tue Jun 15 10:33:21 -0600 2010 I guess it has to do with the format...how do I make this work?
