    I've got google apps setup, with the mx records working. Any emails to [email protected] now go to my google apps, great. Now i want to use google apps for sending automated emails (ie lost password, registration) How do i set it up so that php's mail() using googleapps? is this correct? also, is there anyway for test (sending myself multiple emails) without google thinking im spamming?

  • Problem installing SSL on centos 5.2 with plesk

    Hello, I'm trying to install an ssl certificate to a dedicated centos 5.2 server. I followed the hosting company's instructions but the ssl is not working. When I try to access my website using https, Firefox gives the following error: uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate expired on 3/13/2010 11:56 AM. (Error code: sec_error_expired_certificate) I'm not sure where the problem is. You should also know that this server has plesk installed, even though I'm not using it, it could potentially be somehow overriding my httpd.conf or ssl.conf. Thanks!

    Hello, everyone. I've got a problem with my debian server. Probably there is some vulnerable script at my web-serser, which is running from www-data user. I also have samba with winbind installed, and samba is joined to windows domain. So, probably this vulnerable script allows hacker to bruteforce out domain controller through winbind unix domain socket. Actually I have lots of such lines at netstat -a output: unix 3 [ ] STREAM CONNECTED 509027 /var/run/samba/winbindd_privileged/pipe And our DC logs contain lots of recorded authentication attems from root or guest accounts. How can I restrict my apaches access to winbind? I had an idea to use some kind of firewall for IPC sockets. Is it possible?

  • In Linux, when I use the PS command, why do I see multiple lines for www-data?

    I have a LAMP server that uses ubuntu 9.10, apache2, mysql5 and php5. When I login as root through the shell, I run a "ps aux" command and see something like the following www-data 3151 0.1 4.3 220024 31032 ? S 12:22 0:00 /usr/sbin/apache2 -k start www-data 3153 0.2 3.6 214776 26020 ? S 12:22 0:01 /usr/sbin/apache2 -k start www-data 3162 0.3 5.1 225060 36920 ?     Current I have an .htaccess file like this. RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f [OR] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/(always|rewrite|these|dirs)/ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ router.php [L,QSA] It works create when the site files are in the document_root of the webserver (ie. domain.com/abc.php - /abc.php). But in our current setup (which isn't changeable), this isn't ensured. We can sometimes have arbitrary folder in between the document root and folder of the .htaccess file (ie. domain.com/something/abc.php - /something/abc.php). The only problem with is that is the second RewriteCond no longer works. Is there anyway to dynamically check if the accessed path by a path relative to .htaccess file. For Example: If I have a site where domain.com/rewrite/ is the directory of the .htaccess file. NOT FORCED TO REWRITE -> domain.com/rewrite/index.php FORCED TO REWRITE -> domain.com/rewrite/rewrite/index.php If I have a site where domain.com/ is the directory of the .htaccess file. NOT FORCED TO REWRITE -> domain.com/index.php FORCED TO REWRITE -> domain.com/rewrite/index.php

    Okay. I installed apache2 and php on my Ubuntu 10.04 machine. I copied the phpmyadmin files to /var/www/phpmyadmin so that the hierarchy looks like this: -var (755) -www (144) -phpmyadmin (644) -index.php... etc. (644) -index.html (644) The numbers in brackets are the permissions. What permissions should the phpmyadmin folder have? What am I doing wrong?

  • In Djano, why do I get a 500 server error when browsing, but "python mysite.fcgi" from SSH works fin

    If I browse to my site, I get a 500 "internal server error." However, if I SSH into my server and go to my site's folder and run "python mysite.fcgi" I see the HTML rendered fine. Obviously, something is wrong, but I'm not sure what.   • Smart subdomain routing via reverse proxy

    I have two servers on my home network: OSX Server and an Ubuntu Server. I'd love to have external subdomains osx.mydomain.com point to osx and ubuntu.mydomain.com point to ubuntu. I know the normal way to do this is to have a static external IP address for each, but that's not an option as this is just my home setup. My question is: is there a way to do this with some reverse proxy trickery? OSX is currently the default entry point for all traffic. I was able to setup a reverse proxy on OSX for ubuntu.mydomain.com on port 80, so web traffic was correctly being proxied to my ubuntu. I'd like to ssh and do a bunch of other stuff though!

    I think I understand why sessions are evil but for snappy client user experience I don't want to have to re-query the database on each HTTP request. (As a comparision, Java servlets can effortlessly keep tons of session objects in memory.) Can PHP be set to do this or does it have to serialize because it runs from CGI/FastCGI and therefore by definition is a new process each time a request comes in? I will be running PHP using LAMP.

I found I can restrict access using the .htaccess, and using something like <FilesMatch "\.(text,doc)"> Order allow,deny Deny from all Satisfy All </FilesMatch> to serve up everything except a regular expression. Is it possible to instead restrict access to only files which meet some regular expression?

  • Adding SSI support causes mod_dir "trailing slash" redirect to stop working

    I have enabled SSI using the following directives in .htaccess AddHandler server-parsed .html AddOutputFilter INCLUDES html However when I add these, the trailing slash redirects stop working. For eg. http://testwp.humbug.in/test/index.html works fine but http://testwp.humbug.in/test/ doesn't work. In chrome it gives a "Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE)" error while in firefox it shows a blank page. What additional configuration do I need for both mod_dir and mod_include to work properly?

In this guide it says to use this command: sudo apt-get install sun-java6-bin sun-java6-jre sun-java6-jdk But on Suns website, it says JDK includes the JRE, so why the JRE in the line above?   • Write permissions on uploaded files - PHP & Linux

    I am working on a PHP script that transfers files using FTP functions. It has always worked on my production server (which is a hosting service). The development server I have just setup (I am a novice to servers) is Debian Lenny with Apache2, PHP5, and MySQL5. The file transfer works correctly, but once the file has been written to the server, it has permissions of 600. This makes it impossible for me to view the file (JPEG) in the web browser, as permission is denied. I have scoured the internet and even broken my server installation and reinstalled it trying to figure this out (which has been fun, nonetheless!). I know it is unwise to set 777 permissions on public accessible files, but even that will not solve the problem. The only thing that works is if I chmod 777 thefile.jpg after it has been transferred, which is not a working solution. I tried changing the owner of my site files to www-data per this post, but that also does not work. My user is mike, and it still does not work whether the owner of the files is mike or root. Would somebody point me in the right direction? Thanks! And, of course, let me know if I can clarify anything.

This is the only meaning of this directive. But why does this method switch off PHP handler, that assigned .php extensions, and I can view source code of scripts in my browser? And another: AddType application/x-httpd-php5 .php Why does this method switch on PHP handler? This simply must send header "Content-Type: application/x-httpd-php5" to my browser and this must be only meaning of directive AddType from mod_mime. I'm confused. Thanks for your replies.

    One can use the a2enmod [module] command to enable mods located in /etc/apache2/mods-available. But what about mods in /etc/php5/mods-available? When I try to enable a mod in this directory (eg. xdebug), I get the following error: ERROR: Module xdebug does not exist! Yet, /etc/php5/mods-available/xdebug.ini exists. I understand a2enmod may work only with *.load files (it makes sense since *.ini files are just configuration files) but then what's the correct way of enabling modules located in /etc/php5/mods-available?

  • Sun Java keytool importing EV certificates into a single keystore

    At my current job we are using tomcat, customers have custom web portals setup on their own local machines. EV certs are new to me, they have 2 part intermediary and a primary certificate. For our product to work it appears I need to get all three parts installed under a single keystore entry. How can I roll all three parts into a single x.509 compliant file for import? They syntax I am using is as follows: /blah/system/j2sdk/bin/keytool -import -alias foo -keystore /zix/system/jdk1.5.0_06/jre/lib/security/cacerts -file certname.pem -trustcacerts where foo = the keystore name and certname.pem is the main cert. I have tried importing the intermediate certs under their own names into the keystore and I don't know if it's just the product I have to work with (not vanilla tomcat) or what but it doesn't see those. I have seen a working system and all three certs were under the single keystore alias. Anyone have any ideas?
