  • Win C#: Run app as administrator without UAC prompt

    Hello, I need one of my .exe to always run as administrator without UAC prompt. My program will be installed with setup, which will have for one time admin rights, and I need to perform such step in this setup that my exe will be always executed as admin without UAC prompt. I've found 2 solutions so far: 1) Use custom service, which will elevate the program for me. 2) Use tash scheduler: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/create-administrator-mode-shortcuts-without-uac-prompts-in-windows-vista/ Is there any other solution? Some manifest probably? Thanks.

  • Disabling Magnifying Glass in UITextView in an iPhone App

    I want to display text and I want to be able to know where in this text a user touches. Because the text could be long, I wanted to use a UITextView so that wrapping and everything would be taken care of. I want my own event handling for when a touch begins or moves. My problem is that the magnifying glass and select/select all menu are interrupting my touchesMoved events. How can i disable the magnifying glass, but still have user interaction enabled so that I can detect the touches?

  • Facebook Iframe App with multiple pages in Safari Session Variables not persisting

    I have a facebook Iframe application with multiple PHP pages in it. I have some links that point relatively to the files inside my "iframe folder". Having some issues with session variables inside the iframe. I set some session variables but they do not persist from one page to another. This does work on other browsers. I've been reading that Safari does not support Cross-Domain cookies and this might be the problem , but im not sure how to fix this. Any help?

  • AdMob ads on Android app are not rotating / refreshing

    Has anyone else had this problem? I have a game, and the Ads show at the top of the phone above my game view. When I'm tapping away on the game, the ads just stay the same. BUT, if I don't touch anything and wait the 15 seconds, as is set in my Interval, THEN the ad changes (usually). I don't get any error reports. There's nothing to indicate that this shouldn't be working just fine, but I have no idea why my ads aren't refreshing or rotating while I'm interacting with the other View in my application. Any direction or thoughts would be helpful, thank you!

  • How to handle ViewModel and Database in C#/WPF/MVVM App

    I have a task management program with a "Urgency" field. Valid values are Int16 currently mapped to 1 (High), 2 (Medium), 3 (Low), 4 (None) and 99 (Closed). The urgency field is used to rank tasks as well as alter the look of the items in the list and detail view. When a user is editing or adding a new task they select or view the urgency in a ComboBox. A Converter passes Strings to replace the Ints. The urgency collection is so simple I did not make it a table in the database, instead it is a, ObservableCollection(Int16) that is populated by a method. Since the same screen may be used to view a closed task the "Closed" urgency must be in the ItemsSource but I do not want the user to be able to select it. In order to prevent the user from being able to select that item in the ComboBox but still be able to see it if the item in the database has that value should I... Manually disable the item in the ComboBox in code or Xaml (I doubt it) Change the Urgency collection from an Int16 to an Object with a Selectable Property that the isEnabled property of the ComboBoxItem Binds to. Do as in 2 but also separate the urgency information into its own table in the database with a foreign key in the Tasks table None of the above (I suspect this is the correct answer) I ask this because this is a learning project (My first real WPF and first ever MVVM project). I know there is rarely one Right way to do something but I want to make sure I am learning in a reasonable manner since it if far harder to Unlearn bad habits Thanks Mike

  • Simple iPhone drawing app with Quartz 2D

    I am making a simple iPhone drawing program as a personal side-project. I capture touches event in a subclassed UIView and render the actual stuff to a seperate CGLayer. After each render, I call [self setNeedsLayout] and in the drawRect: method I draw the CGLayer to the screen context. This all works great and performs decently for drawing rectangles. However, I just want a simple "freehand" mode like a lot of other iPhone applications have. The way I thought to do this was to create a CGMutablePath, and simply: CGMutablePathRef path; -(void)touchBegan { path = CGMutablePathCreate(); } -(void)touchMoved { CGPathMoveToPoint(path,NULL,x,y); CGPathAddLineToPoint(path,NULL,x,y); } -(void)drawRect:(CGContextRef)context { CGContextBeginPath(context); CGContextAddPath(context,path); CGContextStrokePath(context); } However, after drawing for more than 1 second, performance degrades miserably. I would just draw each line into the off-screen CGLayer, if it were not for variable opacity! The less-than-100% opacity causes dots to be left on the screen connecting the lines. I have looked at CGContextSetBlendingMode() but alas I cannot find an answer. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Other iPhone apps are able to do this with very good efficiency.

    Attempting to pull my database from Heroku gives an error partway through the process (below). Using: Snow Leopard; heroku-1.8.2; taps-0.2.26; rails-2.3.5; mysql-5.1.42. Database is smallish, as you can see from the error message. Heroku tech support says it's a problem on my system, but offers nothing in the way of how to solve it. I've seen the issue reported before - for example here. How can I get around this problem?     Hello! The title explains all... I have this snippet of code in my application: String url = createTelUrl("3112007315"); Intent intent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_CALL); intent.setData(Uri.parse(url)); context.startActivity(intent); It does make a call, but once the call ends, my application crashes. I'd like to return to my application once the call has finished, but I read this post and it seems not to be possible. So... is there anyway to at least pause my application and resume it once the call has finished? Thank you so much for reading.

  • How to Animate a Gradient on a Path to visualize data flow in WPF/WCF app

    I have an interesting project where several "nodes" on a cnavas are connected via a Path similiar to a mindmap tree. The path is used to visualize the connection state between two nodes. Red means the nodes are disconnected, green means they're connected. The next step would be to illustrate data flow (from A to B or B to A) using that path and an animation. Basically I would want to start the animation with the data transfer and stop it when the transfer is complete. Does anyone know how this could be done in WPF?

The reason I ask is because the application takes command line arguments and I want to have a genuine experience.     Hi there, I've got a 32 bit application that connects normally to a DB2 database. (written in C) When I run it on a machine with a DB2 64 bit client, I get a SQLCODE -1390 from connect. (Win7 64 Bit, DB2 V9.7 client 64 bit) Connecting from the command line works (db2 connect to ...) With a 32 Bit DB2 client on the same Win7 64 Bit machine, the connect also works.   • How to authenticate a Windows Mobile client calling web services in a Web App

    I have a fairly complex business application written in ASP.NET that is deployed on a hosted server. The site uses Forms Authentication, and there are about a dozen different roles defined. Employees and customers are both users of the application. Now I have the requirement to develop a Windows Mobile client for the application that allows a very specialized set of tasks to be performed from a device, as opposed to a browser on a laptop. The client wants to increase productivity with this measure. Only employees will use this application. I feel that it would make sense to re-use the security infrastructure that is already in place. The client does not need offline capability. My thought is to deploy a set of web services to a folder of the existing site that only the new role "web service" has access to, and to use Forms Authentication (from a Windows Mobile 5/.Net 3.5 client). Can I do that, is that a good idea, and are there any code examples/references that you can point me to?

In some examples, they show a url being sent to google (which seems easy enough), but in others they show javascript. It seems for reverse geocoding, the request might be be harder than sending the url with some parameters (but I hope I am wrong). Can someone point me to the correct way to make a request? (In objective-C, so I can wrap my head around it)

  • How To Update a Facebook App Page Status

    Hi all, I've done a few searches and couldn't find an answer. I'm trying to update the status of my business's "Application Page" (not personal page, and not "Fan Page") on Facebook. Two questions for the community: 1) How to update the "Application Page" status programmatically? I found the answer for a "Fan Page" here (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2097665/authorizing-a-facebook-fan-page-for-status-updates). Does anyone think it will work for an "Application Page" as well? 2) How to update the "Application Page" status through a third party service? Ideally, I'd like to post to one location and have it show up a) on my business twitter status and b) on my Facebook "Application Page" status.   • aapt not found when building new Android app in NetBeans

    I just installed NetBeans and the Android SDK following the instructions here. I am running Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic). NetBeans is 6.7.1. The Android SDK is version 7.   • Listview navigation behaviour in an xbap versus a standalone app

    Hello, I have an wpf application which contains a listview. When the application runs as a standalone I can navigate through the list with the arrow up and the arrow down keys on the keyboard. When the application is deployed as an XBAP and runs in a browser window I can do this too but when I for example reach the top element and press the up arrow key one more time the focus jumps to the url bar in the browser. Does anyone know if there’s an easy way to prevent this? Thanks.
