  • Return ArrayList from .net web service to android application using kSoap

    My web service is returning quite a bit of data, so i'm storing it in an arraylist and returning that to my application. I don't know whether or not this is the preferred method or not. When the arraylist is returned and displayed in my application, it also displays the arraylists "anyType" section. I'm new to this whole process so i'm sure i'm missing something somewhere or going about this incorrectly. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

  • Zend Framework how to echo value of SUM query

    Hello, I created a query for the zend framework, in which I try to retrieve the sum of a column, in this case the column named 'time'. This is the query I use: $this->timequery = $this->db_tasks->fetchAll($this->db_tasks->select()->from('tasks', 'SUM(time)')->where('projectnumber =' . $this->value_project)); $this->view->sumtime = $this->timequery; Echoing the query tells me this is right. But I can't echo the result properly. Currently I'm using: echo $this->sumtime['SUM(time)']; Returning the following error: Catchable fatal error: Object of class Zend_Db_Table_Row could not be converted to string in C:\xampp\htdocs\BManagement\application\views\scripts\tasks\index.phtml on line 46 Line 46 being the line with the echo in my view. I've been searching now for two days on how to figure this out, or achieve the same result in a different way. Tried to serialize the value, but that didn't work either. Is there somebody who knows how to achieve the total sum of a database column? Any help is greatly appriciated! note: Pretty new to zend framework...

  • SignalR recording when a Web Page has closed

    I am using MassTransit request and response with SignalR. The web site makes a request to a windows service that creates a file. When the file has been created the windows service will send a response message back to the web site. The web site will open the file and make it available for the users to see. I want to handle the scenario where the user closes the web page before the file is created. In that case I want the created file to be emailed to them. Regardless of whether the user has closed the web page or not, the message handler for the response message will be run. What I want to be able to do is have some way of knowing within the response message handler that the web page has been closed. This is what I have done already. It doesnt work but it does illustrate my thinking. On the web page I have $(window).unload(function () { if (event.clientY < 0) { // $.connection.hub.stop(); $.connection.exportcreate.setIsDisconnected(); } }); exportcreate is my Hub name. In setIsDisconnected would I set a property on Caller? Lets say I successfully set a property to indicate that the web page has been closed. How do I find out that value in the response message handler. This is what it does now protected void BasicResponseHandler(BasicResponse message) { string groupName = CorrelationIdGroupName(message.CorrelationId); GetClients()[groupName].display(message.ExportGuid); } private static dynamic GetClients() { return AspNetHost.DependencyResolver.Resolve<IConnectionManager>().GetClients<ExportCreateHub>(); } I am using the message correlation id as a group. Now for me the ExportGuid on the message is very important. That is used to identify the file. So if I am going to email the created file I have to do it within the response handler because I need the ExportGuid value. If I did store a value on Caller in my hub for the web page close, how would I access it in the response handler. Just in case you need to know. display is defined on the web page as exportCreate.display = function (guid) { setTimeout(function () { top.location.href = 'GetExport.ashx?guid=' + guid; }, 500); }; GetExport.ashx opens the file and returns it as a response.     Hello everyone. In a Latex Report I am making I have to write a regex. There is only one in the whole report, so I don't really want to use packages and so on. This is the regex I am talking about: ^\"((\w|\s)+)\"$ I came up with this for Latex: \grave{ }\backslash\"'((\backslash w\| \backslash s)+)\backslash \"' \backslash \$ This gives me like 10 errors, and I can't really see what is wrong.     Hello all, I'm trying to implement a feature that uses LDAP over SSL (SSL, not TLS), it needs to connect to a SSL-enabled LDAP server (i.e OpenLDAP), bind and then do any additional queries. It also needs to support client-authentication, and this is where things get tricky: The client is a web application written in Ruby, and we are using RubyLDAP (so far we have used it for non-SSL ldap stuff with great success). My question is: Is there a way to load a client certificate and send its data over the wire to the LDAP server when doing a LDAP::SSLConn? I haven't found anything obvious on the API docs (http://ruby-ldap.sourceforge.net/rdoc/) nor while googling around. I know I that I can prevent the server from asking for a certificate by putting the following on slapd.conf (OpenLDAP): TLSVerifyClient never However, this is not an option here. Thanks, Marcelo.

Clients will be sending votes for particular pieces of content, and receiving near-realtime updates of aggregated vote tallies from the server. The datastore needs to support: Storing the votes Summarising the votes in near-realtime Preventing multiple votes within an arbitrary time period (e.g. clients can only vote once for a piece of content every 1 minute) Something that already has client libraries for Node.js would be preferable.

    I recently got bored and fired up my old Mac OS Classic emulator, and then got nostalgic for writing old-school applications for the system. So, my question: Where can I get dev tools that can still target Classic? (Ideally free, since this is just for fun, but if grabbing a used version of CodeWarrior on eBay is the best way to go, so be it.) Where can I get at least reference materials so I don't have to guess-and-check my way around Carbon/the System Toolbox? Are there any forums still running that would be open to answering old-school Mac questions for when I get stuck? This is purely for fun, so don't worry about how impractical this is. I know.

  • Calculating multiple column average in SQLite3

    I need to average some values in a row-wise fashion, rather than a column-wise fashion. (If I were doing a column-wise average, I could just use avg()). My specific application of this requires me ignore NULLs in averaging. It's pretty straightforward logic, but seems awfully difficult to do in SQL. Is there an elegant way of doing my calculation? I'm using SQLite3, for what it's worth. Details If you need more details, here's an illustration: I have a a table with a survey: | q1 | q2 | q3 | ... | q144 | |----|-------|-------|-----|------| | 1 | 3 | 7 | ... | 2 | | 4 | 2 | NULL | ... | 1 | | 5 | NULL | 2 | ... | 3 | (Those are just some example values and simple column names. The valid values are 1 through 7 and NULL.) I need to calculate some averages like so: q7 + q33 + q38 + q40 + ... + q119 / 11 as domain_score_1 q10 + q11 + q34 + q35 + ... + q140 / 13 as domain_score_2 ... q2 + q5 + q13 + q25 + ... + q122 / 12 as domain_score_14 ...but i need to pull out the nulls and average based on the non-nulls. So, for domain_score_1 (which has 11 items), I would need to do: Input: 3, 5, NULL, 7, 2, NULL, 3, 1, 5, NULL, 1 (3 + 5 + 7 + 2 + 3 + 1 + 5 + 1) / (11 - 3) 27 / 8 3.375 A simple algorithm I'm considering is: Input: 3, 5, NULL, 7, 2, NULL, 3, 1, 5, NULL, 1 Coalesce each value to 0 if NULL: 3, 5, 0, 7, 2, 0, 3, 1, 5, 0, 1 Sum: 27 Get the number of non-zeros by converting values 0 to 1 and sum: 3, 5, 0, 7, 2, 0, 3, 1, 5, 0, 1 1, 1, 0, 1, 1, 0, 1, 1, 1, 0, 1 8 Divide those two numbers 27 / 8 3.375 But that seems like a lot more programming than this should take. Is there an elegant way of doing this that I'm not aware of? Update: Unless I'm misunderstanding something, avg() won't work for this. Example of what I would want to do: select avg(q7, q33, q38, ..., q119) from survey; Output: SQL error near line 3: wrong number of arguments to function avg()

    Would you guys show me a way to simulating concurrent access to memcache on Google App Engine? I'm trying with LocalServiceTestHelpers and threads but don't have any luck. Every time I try to access Memcache within a thread, then I get this error: ApiProxy$CallNotFoundException: The API package 'memcache' or call 'Increment()' was not found I guess that the testing library of GAE SDK tried to mimic the real environment and thus setup the environment for only one thread (the thread that running the test) which cannot be seen by other thread.   • warning C6242: A jump out of this try-block forces local unwind

    When we use SEH with __finally block, if we do return in __try block, it causes a local unwind. To Local unwind, the system need to approximately 1000 instructions. The local unwind causes a warning C6242. MSDN suggests using __leave keyword(with saving a return value). But I don't think it's a good idea. If we save a return value and leave the block, there will be many mistakes. Is the waring really necessary? What do you prefer?

  • Visualizing an AST created with ANTLR (in a .Net environment)

    Hi there. For a pet project I started to fiddle with ANTLR. After following some tutorials I'm now trying to create the grammar for my very own language and to generate an AST. For now I'm messing around in ANTLRWorks mostly, but now that I have validated that the parse tree seems to be fine I'd like to (iteratively, because I'm still learning and still need to make some decisions regarding the final structure of the tree) create the AST. It seems that antlrworks won't visualize it (or at least not using the "Interpreter" feature, Debug's not working on any of my machines). Bottom line: Is the only way to visualize the AST the manual way, traversing/showing it or printing the tree in string representation to a console? What I'm looking for is a simple way to go from input, grammar - visual AST representation a la the "Interpreter" feature of ANTLRWorks. Any ideas?

  • PHP gallery, thumbnail listing

    Hi everyone, I am planning a dynamic PHP photo gallery and having difficulty deciding on the best way to display the thumbnails after they have been retrieved via MySQL. I considered using an inline unordered list but this resulted in the thumbs being stacked one on top of the other (touching). Also tried a table but not sure how I would start the next row after x number of thumbnails. Any suggestions on page layout for this purpose? I will be using Lightbox to cycle through the photos themselves, that isn't the issue. Also, would a while() loop be best for fetching the list of thumbs and inserting the appropriate HTML? So i made this Enumeration: public Enumeration<Object> getEnumeration() { return new Enumeration<Object>() { private int itemsDone = 0; Collection<Long> keysCollection = getContent().keySet(); Long [] keys = keysCollection.toArray(new Long[keysCollection.size()]); @Override public boolean hasMoreElements() { if(itemsDone < getContent().size() +1 ) { return true; }else { return false; } } @Override public Object nextElement() { return getContent().get(keys[itemsDone++]); } }; } This goes in my Backpack class public class Backpack extends Item implements Carrier, Enumeration<Object>{ The hashmap is returned by getContent(). The problem now is that eclipse keeps telling me I havent implemented the methods from Enumeration. If I use the quick fix it just adds the hasMoreElements() and nextElement() dummy methods in my class. Somehow it doesn't see these methods in the inner class.. Can anyone help me please? Any help is appreciated.

  • Populating fields in modal form using PHP, jQuery

    I have a form that adds links to a database, deletes them, and -- soon -- allows the user to edit details. I am using jQuery and Ajax heavily on this project and would like to keep all control in the same page. In the past, to handle editing something like details about another website (link entry), I would have sent the user to another PHP page with form fields populated with PHP from a MySQL database table. How do I accomplish this using a jQuery UI modal form and calling the details individually for that particular entry?   • Embedded SQL in OO languages like Java

    One of the things that annoys me working with SQL in OO languages is having to define SQL statements in strings. When I used to work on IBM mainframes, the languages used an SQL preprocessor to parse SQL statements out of the native code, so the statements could be written in cleartext SQL without the obfuscation of strings, for instance in Cobol there is a EXEC SQL .... END-EXEC syntax construct that allows pure SQL statements to be embedded in the Cobol code. <pure cobol code, including assignment of value to local variable HOSTVARIABLE> EXEC SQL SELECT COL_A, COL_B, COL_C INTO :COLA, :COLB, :COLC FROM TAB_A WHERE COL_D = :HOSTVARIABLE END_EXEC <more cobol code, variables COLA, COLB, COLC have been set> ...this makes the SQL statement really easy to read & check for errors. Between the EXEC SQL .... END-EXEC tokens there are no constraints on indentation, linebreaking etc., so you can format the SQL statement according to taste. Note that this example is for a single-row select, when a multiple-row resultset is expected, the coding is different (but still v. easy to read). So, taking Java as an example What made the "old COBOL" approach undesirable ? Not only SQL, but system calls could be made much more readable with that approach. Let's call it the embedded foreign language preprocessor approach. Would an embedded foreign language preprocessor for SQL be useful to implement ? Would you see a benefit in being able to write native SQL statements inside java code ? Edit I'm really asking if you think SQL in OO languages is a throwback, and if not then what could be done to make it better.
