• Problem when compressing SWF in Linux with java.util.zip

  Hi! I've created a servlet that changes the binaries of a SWF file and output it to the user. The SWF is compressed by ZLIB by default. Then I inflate, change the binaries, deflate and output the result. Everything was running right on a Windows Server 2008 (also in 2003). Currently, we need change the server to Linux, and then, this servlet is somehow outputing a corrupted SWF File... what could be the problem? What intrigues me more is that there is no difference between the Windows and Linux servlet versions. Is there any undocumented linux specific behaviour for the java.util.zip package? My Windows Server is (where the servlet is working): Windows Server 2008 (6.0 - x86) Apache 2.2.11 Tomcat 6.0.16.0 Java JDK 1.6.0_12-b04 My CentOS Server is (where te servlet doesn't work) CentOS 5.4 (2.6.18-164.15.1.el5 - i386) Apache 2.2.3 Tomcat 6.0.16.0 Java JDK 1.6.0_12-b04 Any lead would be appreciated! • Coordinate system problem with the grid control

  In my WPF application im trying to visualize some temperature data. I have a list of temperatures for the 7 past days and want to make a point to point line diagram. My problem is with the different koordinatesystems and adjusting data to the grid. How to i correct my application so the line always is centered? As it is now it starts out centeded but if i crank up the slider to 3-4 the line goes up and above the applicationwindow.   I have an abstract class called Grouping. I have a subclass called GroupingNNA. public class GroupingNNA : Grouping { // blah blah blah } I have a List that contains items of type GroupingNNA, but is actually declared to contain items of type Grouping. List<Grouping> lstGroupings = new List<Grouping>(); lstGroupings.Add( new GroupingNNA { fName = "Joe" }); lstGroupings.Add( new GroupingNNA { fName = "Jane" }); The Problem: The following LINQ query blows up on me because of the fact that lstGroupings is declared as List< Grouping and fName is a property of GroupingNNA, not Grouping. var results = from g in lstGroupings where r.fName == "Jane" select r; Oh, and this is a compiler error, not a runtime error. Thanks in advance for any help on this one! More Info: Here is the actual method that won't compile. • Problem with ScriptManager when trying to email rendered contents of ASP.NET page

  I recently added a Telerik control to an ascx that is included in an aspx page. This page has a "Send email" button, which when clicked will email the user the rendered output of the page. The Telerik control I added requires a ScriptManager, so I added that to the ascx. However, now the email button won't work. I get the following error: The control with ID 'myIdHere' requires a ScriptManager on the page. The ScriptManager must appear before any controls that need it. I know the script manager exists because the page works fine when I go that url, it is only failing when it tries to email the rendered output. Here's a code snippet, any ideas as to whether there is a problem with scriptmanager when doing this sort of thing? • PHP sql with foreach loop variable problem

  This is really getting frustrating. I have a text file that I'm reading for a list of part numbers that goes into an array. I'm using the following foreach function to search a database for matching numbers. $file = file('parts_array.txt'); foreach ($file as $newPart) { $sql = "SELECT products_sku FROM products WHERE products_sku='" . $newPart . "'"; $rs = mysql_query($sql); $num_rows = mysql_num_rows($rs); echo $num_rows; echo "<br />"; } The problem is I'm getting 0 rows returned from mysql_num_rows. I can type the sql statement without the variable and it works perfectly. I can even echo out the sql statement from this script, copy and paste the statement from the browser and it works. But, for some reason I'm not getting any records when I'm using the variable. I've used variables in sql statements tons of times, but this really has me stumped.

  I have an FBML app that will use the tab as a promo tab before the full app goes live. The purpose of the promo tab is to allow users to opt in to email notifications (using the FB API sendNotifications call), so I need to prompt them to allow the app and grant extended permissions on that promo tab. Grant extended permissions (intab)</a></h1> The result.php page just tags the API to ensure the allow prompt will show up. The problem is with the Step 2. Once the user has allowed the app, and they click on the Step 2, nothing happens. If they click on it twice, THEN the extended permissions dialog box popups up, but it asks them to grant extended permissions TWICE. OR.... If the user clicks on Step 1, and allows the app, and then reloads the fan page tab, they only have to click on the Step 2 link once, and the permissions show up. Anyone have any ideas? I have been beating myself in the head over this for hours.

• Problem using a COM interface as parameter

  I have the following problem: I have to projects Project1 and Project2. In Project1 I have an interface IMyInterface. In Project2 I have an interface IMyInterface2 with a method that receives a pointer to IMyInterface1. When I use import "Project1.idl"; in my Project2.idl, a #include "Project1.h" appears in Project2___i.h. But this file does not even exist!. What is the proper way to import an interface defined into other library into a idl file? I tried to replace the #include "Project1.h" by *#include "Project1_i.h"* or *#include "Project1_i.c"*, but it gave me a lot of errors. I also tried to use importlib("Project1.tlb") and define my interface IMyInterface2 within the library definition. But when I compile Project2PS project, an error is raised (something like dlldata.c is not generated if no interface is defined). I tried to create a dummy Project1.h. But when Project2___i.h is compiled, compiler cannot find MyInterface1. And if I include Project1___i.h I get a lot of errors again! Apparently, it is a simple issue, but I don't know how to solve it. I'm stuck with that!. By the way, I'm using VS2008 SP1. Thanks in advance.

• Periodic GPU performance problem

  Hi folks! I have a WinForms application that uses XNA to animate 3D models in a control. The app have been doing just fine for months but recently I've started to experience periodic pauses in the animation. Setting out to investigate what is going on I have established these facts: It (currently) happens on my machine only Removing everything from my render loop does not improve the problem In 2. I didn't actually remove everything, I limited my loop to set the viewport on my GraphicsDevice and then do a GraphicsDevice.Present. Trying to dig further I fired up PIX to capture some statistics. Screenshots of two PIX runs can be viewed here (Run6) and here (Run14). Run6 is using my original render loop and Run14 is using the bare-bones Present loop. PIX tells me that the GPU is periodically doing something, and I assume this is causing the pauses. What could be the cause of this? Or how do I go about finding out what the GPU is actually doing? Note: I'm using XNA 3.1 on a Windows 7 x64 dual-core machine with 8GB RAM. Note2: also posted this question on the XNA Creators forums here.

• Context problem while loading Assemblies via Structuremap

  I want to load plugins in a smiliar way as shown here however the loaded assemblies seem not to share the same context. Trying to solve the problem I just build a tiny spike containing two assemblies. One console app and one library. The console app contains the IPlugin interface and has no references to the Plugin dll. I am scanning the plugin dir using a custom Registration convention: ObjectFactory.Initialize(x => x.Scan(s => { s.AssembliesFromPath(@"..\Plugin"); s.With(new PluginScanner()); })); public void Process(Type type, Registry registry) { if (!type.Name.StartsWith("P")) return; var instance = ObjectFactory.GetInstance(type); registry.For<IPlugin>().Add((IPlugin)instance); } Which thows an invalid cast exception saying he can not convert the plugin Type to IPlugin. public class P1 : IPlugin { public void Start() { Console.WriteLine("Hello from P1"); } } Further if I just construct the instance (which works fine by the way) and try to access ObjectFactory in the plugin ObjectFactory.WhatDoIHave() shows that they don't even share the same container instance. Experimenting around with MEF, Structuremap and loading the assembly manually whith Assembly.Load("Plugin") shows if loaded with Assembly.Load it works fine. Any ideas how I can fix this to work with StructureMaps assembly scanning?

  I use Ruby on Rails 3 and I have 2 applications (APP1 and APP2) working on two subdomains: app1.domain.local app2.domain.local and I am tryng to run two consecutive HTTP GET requests from APP1 to APP2 like this: Code in APP1 (request): response1 = Net::HTTP.get( URI.parse("http://app2.domain.local?test=first&id=1") ) response2 = Net::HTTP.get( URI.parse("http://app2.domain.local/test=second&id=1") ) Code in APP2 (response): respond_to do |format| if <model_name>.find(params[:id]).<field_name> == "first" <model_name>.find(params[:id]).update_attribute ( <field_name>, <field_value> ) format.xml { render :xml => <model_name>.find(params[:id]).<field_name> } elsif <model_name>.find(params[:id]).<field_name> == "second" format.xml { render :xml => <model_name>.find(params[:id]).<field_name> } end end After the first request I get the correct XML (response1 is what I expect), but on the second it isn't (response2 isn't what I expect). Doing some tests I found that the second time that <model_name>.find(params[:id]).<field_name> run (for the elsif statements) it returns always a blank value so that the code in the elseif statement is never run. Is it possible that the problem is related on caching <model_name>.find(params[:id]).<field_name>? P.S.: I read about eTag and Conditional GET, but I am not sure that I must use that approach. I would like to keep all simple.

• Iphone: XML image problem

  Hi! I have a question about parsing XML and putting it into a table. I parsed the following elements from a RSS feed : title, dc:creator and enclosure url (= an image). The parsing is working, i can see everything showing up in the console. But when i try to load everything into the tablecell, everything shows up except for the image. So i figured that the problem must be in the CellForRowatIndexPath method in the RootViewController.m ( or in the TableCell.m) What am i doing wrong? Please help! Ive been struggling for days with this and just cant seem to figure it out! • JLabel transparency problem

  I have a dark-gray JPanel with a JLabel on it. I set new Color(0, 0, 0, .5f) (tranparent) as the background of the JLabel and I change the text several times using a button. The problem is, everytime the text is changed, the previous text still remains behind the new text. I change the text from "123456789" to "1234567", "12345" and "123". Here is the screenshot: How do I get rid of this "shadow"? • XML parsing problem

  I'm having this strange XML parsing problem. I have this XML string I'm trying to parse <?xml version="1.0"?> <response status="success"> <lot>32342</lot> </response> I'm using XPath with Java in order to do this. I'm using the Xpath expression "/response/@status" to find the text "success". However whenever I evaluate this expression I get an empty string. However I am able to successfully parse this string using "/response/@type" <?xml version="1.0"?> <response type="success"> <lot>32342</lot> </response> So why would simply changing the name of the attribute change the return string to nothing? is = new InputSource(testWOcreateStrGood); xPathexpressionSuccess = xPath.compile("/response/@status"); responseStr = xPathexpressionSuccess.evaluate(is); reponseStr is the string I posted earlier with the "status" attribute

I docked those controls to bottom since i have another control which has to be at top always... • Android EVO4G SenseUI Flash Lite 4 cookie problem

  Got the EVO4G today, watching it run Actionscript3 out of the box was EXTREMELY cool. Ran into a problem though. When I connect to a server which creates an HTTP session and hands a cookie to my application, subsequent calls from my client to the server do not have the cookie attached to the HTTP request. That causes the server to invalidate the session and my user is logged out. This appears to be a bug between the Flash Lite 4 player and the SenseUI/browser running in Android 2.1 for the EVO4G. This same application works on other platforms, including the HTC HERO if compiled for flash lite 2. If I hardcode my HTTP requests in the browser address bar, the cookies work, so I know cookies are working on the phone. But when my application is running in the Flash Player, the cookies are not working. I realize this may not be the best forum for this question, so if you cant answer or help me, if you could give me some more appropriate forums to ask on, I would appreciate that. Thanks!

• Problem in displaying image in FireFox

  Hello friends, I have a JSP page on which I have a div tag in which there is a a IMG tag. Using this IMG tag I want to show an image in it. Here the source path of an image is comes from database so I assigned a JSP variable using JSP scriplet. This JSP variable have the source path of an image. This path of image may be of different machine or of same machine i.e. images are stored on different machine or on same machine i.e. on local machine on different drive. The problem is that how to give path of image stored on different machine as well as on same machine. I have tried different ways like by giving ip address of that machine. Here is the path that of local machine where the image is stored img src= file:\localhost\D:\ScannedSheets\testproj/batch1/IMG001.jpg style="z-index:1; position:absolute; top:0; left:0; width:850; height:1099" With this syntax the image is visible in Internet Explorer but With the same syntax Its not visible in FireFox, Google Chrome etc. Please Guide me in friends. Also tell me that how to give path of the image stored on different machine which works In Internet Explorer, FireFox, Google chrome etc.

• How to debug JBoss out of memory problem?

  Hello, I am trying to debug a JBoss out of memory problem. When JBoss starts up and runs for a while, it seems to use memory as intended by the startup configuration. However, it seems that when some unknown user action is taken (or the log file grows to a certain size) using the sole web application JBoss is serving up, memory increases dramatically and JBoss freezes. When JBoss freezes, it is difficult to kill the process or do anything because of low memory. When the process is finally killed via a -9 argument and the server is restarted, the log file is very small and only contains outputs from the startup of the newly started process and not any information on why the memory increased so much. This is why it is so hard to debug: server.log does not have information from the killed process. The log is set to grow to 2 GB and the log file for the new process is only about 300 Kb though it grows properly during normal memory circumstances. This is information on the JBoss configuration: JBoss (MX MicroKernel) 4.0.3 JDK 1.6.0 update 22 PermSize=512m MaxPermSize=512m Xms=1024m Xmx=6144m This is basic info on the system: Operating system: CentOS Linux 5.5 Kernel and CPU: Linux 2.6.18-194.26.1.el5 on x86_64 Processor information: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5420 @ 2.50GHz, 8 cores This is good example information on the system during normal pre-freeze conditions a few minutes after the jboss service startup: Running processes: 183 CPU load averages: 0.16 (1 min) 0.06 (5 mins) 0.09 (15 mins) CPU usage: 0% user, 0% kernel, 1% IO, 99% idle Real memory: 17.38 GB total, 2.46 GB used Virtual memory: 19.59 GB total, 0 bytes used Local disk space: 113.37 GB total, 11.89 GB used When JBoss freezes, system information looks like this: Running processes: 225 CPU load averages: 4.66 (1 min) 1.84 (5 mins) 0.93 (15 mins) CPU usage: 0% user, 12% kernel, 73% IO, 15% idle Real memory: 17.38 GB total, 17.18 GB used Virtual memory: 19.59 GB total, 706.29 MB used Local disk space: 113.37 GB total, 11.89 GB used

• Mootools Form Post Problem, Abort increasingly+1 with each request

  Hi all, i'm using Mootools 1.2. Ihave 15 Forms with same name only change in their id's like form1, form2, form3, ... ,form15 same with their elements. i need to submit all forms by ajax. It gives no error, just abort and again request automatically. i can't understand what is the problem. please any one can help me.
