  • Problems adding static library QT project

    I have problems adding a static library to my Qt project. I have two project one is my static library and the other one is a Qt GUI project. As I add all classes to my GUI project as c++ or header files everything works just fine but I want this to be in a separate library. When I select the option to add a library I check External library then I select the .a file I have build and the folder where my header files can be found because I am working on a Mac I select Mac as the target platform. Then I click continue and then done. macx: LIBS += -L$$PWD/../../MyLib/build-MyLib-Desktop_Qt_5_2_1_clang_64bit-Debug/ -lMyLib INCLUDEPATH += $$PWD/../../MyLib/build-MyLib-Desktop_Qt_5_2_1_clang_64bit-Debug/include DEPENDPATH += $$PWD/../../MyLib/build-MyLib-Desktop_Qt_5_2_1_clang_64bit-Debug/include macx: PRE_TARGETDEPS += $$PWD/../../MyLib/build-MyLib-Desktop_Qt_5_2_1_clang_64bit-Debug/libMyLib.a When I build my GUI project I get the following error: The process "/usr/bin/make" exited with code 2.   • USB Device Not Recognized (Mac)

    Fortunately, my Mac-pro also made one of my USB storage devices inoperable. My data loss in that USB device but such as another USB device and USB keyboard are unaffected. I have heard that my friend usually trigger this problem by having at least two devices plugged in - typically thumb drives/USB flash drives, and then once a second flash drive is plugged in that become unrecognized. I have only two USB ports and first I think port loose when I connect two USB devices. But later I found these hidden files (“.Spotlight-V100”, “.TemporaryItems”, “.Trashes”, and “._.Trashes”) are created by Mac OS. And before unrecognized that USB device I have deleted these files and my friend had also done the same action. Now I don’t want to test for next USB device to become unrecognized and I won’t deleted any hidden system file inside the flash drives. But I really want to know why these problems happened. Can I delete these hidden files when I only connect to virtual machine (Vista), because I used to delete all useless hidden files from USB flash drives? Any suggestions or thoughts to prevent this or alternative suggestions to fix the problem that take lossless would be much appreciated.

  • Apache on CentOS 5.9 VM serves my optimized images corrupted (but my Mac doesn't)

    I'm using a Vagrant VM to mirror the client's environment as closely as I can. As part of our build process we do no optimization of assets early on; that comes as we're ready to take a site live. Needless to say, this issue is beginning to worry me as we need to take the site live very soon. I use ImageOptim to automate optimization of image assets, which runs a whole series of tools (Zopfli, PNGOUT, OptiPNG, AdvPNG, PNGCrush). I always set the optimizations to their maximum setting. After optimization, my PNGs start looking like this: What's weird is, if I serve the same file through my Mac's copy of Apache, not through Vagrant, the image loads fine. In fact, the only time it's ever corrupt like this is when the image is served from the Vagrant VM and its install of Drupal. All optimized JPEGs display only the first ~20% of the image. And PNGs, depending on the image, may show either a portion or the "progressive"-style corruption below. The browser itself makes no difference, the same browser will serve an uncorrupted image from my Mac's Apache instance and a corrupt image from the VM. When I disable all PNG optimizations except PNGCrush, and the removal of the PNG metadata, the image is served corrupted. I'm optimizing JPEG images with JPEGmini. The server is running CentOS 5.9, Apache 2.2.3-85, PHP 5.3.3, and Drupal 7. As best as I can tell the error lies somewhere within the VM, either with Apache or with (perhaps) the network stack. Seems like the tools that optimize the compression of the PNGs and JPEGs are what trigger this error. I've already determined that the .htaccess file isn't interfering with how the images load. What should I try to troubleshoot this?

  • Using pragma once in a C++ project in Xcode 4

    I know that #pragma once is non-standard, however it is supported by most compilers. So on my Mac I can compile C++ code with headers that use #pragma once on the command line using clang++. The strange thing however is that it does not seem to work within Xcode. I get Invalid preprocessing directive when I try to use #pragma once. I am using the newest version of OSX (10.8.2) and Xcode (Version 4.5.1 (4G1004)).

    I'm trying to compile a program called hiQlab on OSX 10.8 g++ -g -O2 -I`echo /Users/.../Documents/hiQlab/hiqlab-2006-07-20/tools/`/lua/include -I`echo /Users/.../Documents/hiQlab/hiqlab-2006-07-20/tools/`/tolua++/include -c cscmatrix.cc cscmatrix.cc:13:12: fatal error: 'umfpack.h' file not found #include "umfpack.h" but I just installed SuiteSparse through macports which includes umfpack and umfpack.h is in fact present in default directory /opt/local/include/ do I need to add the path or something?   • I have UFW block messages from local network machines, how can I analyse if they are malicious?

    I'm getting a lot of messages in my UFW log, and I'm trying to figure out if these are malicious or just normal. A UDP broadcast is coming from a windows laptop x.x.x.191, and some from our synology disks x.x.x.{6,8,10,11}. I have not figured out which macine 114 is yet. I would appreciate some advice in how to read the log, and get the most I can out of these calls.   • Why is iTunes starting and stopping play randomly, and how do I stop it?

    Since yesterday morning my copy of iTunes has been starting and stopping randomly. If iTunes is not running, then it opens and sometimes begins playing, other times sits idle. Eventually, after a random interval it will begin playing a song, and then stop, and so on... Needless to say, it's driving me mad. (Mac OSX, 10.6.3, on a new-ish (< 1 year old) 24" iMac) I've made five changes to my system that may or may not be connected to this: My office phone was replaced with a Linksys IP Phone, which necessitated a change to my networking; where previously my Mac was connected directly to the office network port, now it is connected through the phone. My network connection now uses auto link detection in lieu of forcing 100Mbit I unpaired my bluetooth headset. I removed the USB audio device associated with another headset. I upgraded to Safari 5. I don't use it as a primary browser, but it's often open to run web apps that I'm developing. All of these things happened in pretty close proximity to each other, so one or more of them may be the culprit. One other thing that may or may not be related; for some reason my built-in microphone is no longer picking up audio. It seems like this might be connected to the iTunes issue, because it happened around the same time. In terms of things that I've tried in order to solve this, I'm at a bit of a loss. I followed the instructions at http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/technotes/tn2004/tn2124.html#SECLAUNCHDLOGGING to enable detailed launchd logging to see if I could track down which process was asking iTunes to open (when it's not already open) but I wasn't able to make heads or tails of the output. I'm not even sure if I'm looking in the right place, to be honest; it actually acts like something is activating the application with AppleScript, but I have no processes running that are doing that, as far as I know. I'm running a few apps that have iTunes integration: Adium, iChat with Chax, Quicksilver. None of these have been changed lately, so I consider them low risks of causing this, but it's not impossible. Moreover, I'm not using any of those features intentionally.     I was trying to install Debian 5.04 on a Mac G4, and in typical geek tradition, I didn't RTFM. During installation, I nuked all existing partitions, creating new to my liking. But as I learned later during the installation process, yaboot needed a NewWorld partition, so I can't boot the installation. I don't have any OSX CDs with me (this is a used G4 I purchased of craigslist) with which to create a HFS partition. I've re-run the Debian installer, which lets me create a partition that is supposed to be of type 'NewWorld', but the installer does not seem to like it or recognizes it. Any ideas how to proceed from here? Thanks.

  • I can access my company mail on iPhone, but not on a PC/Mac

    On my iPhone (4), I can set up my company e-mail, which allows me to receive and send e-mail and use the calender to manage appointments. The company is using Exchange 2003. The problem is that this is the only way I can access my e-mail when I'm not at the office. I've tried setting up an account on Outlook 2007, Outlook 2010, Outlook 2011 (Mac) and the OSX Mail app, but it doesn't work. The server cannot be reached, even though I've used the exact same settings as on the iPhone. The info I use on the iPhone is: Server name of the company mail server (it's the same as for webmail) Use SSL AD Domain of my account My AD account name Password When I enter this on the iPhone, it works like a charm, but whatever I try on one of my desktops, it doesn't work. FYI: I can't ask the company IT guys because according to them, it doesn't work from a remote location, not even on the iPhone (but obviously, that works just fine)

  • Information on the BMPP File Extension/Format

    I am looking for information on the file type BMPp. Namely I need an application that can create this file type, preferably open source or free. Wikipedia says for BMP File Format that 'BMPp' is a "type code", which is the "mechanism used by pre-OSX Macs ... to denote a files format..." (Look in the little info-box of general information under "Type code"). Continuing my research, I found an old 2009 archived mailing list "Re: Incorrect png file type 'PNG' that talks about something related to another problem a developer is having. In the response he talks about there being variant file types, and lists BMPp as being linked to an old version of Graphics Converter. The company Lemkesoft sells Graphics Converter, which I am not willing to purchase. I can't imagine that the only program in existence to make a BMPp file is that program. There has got to be another way to make that file type, other than creating a BMP file and just renaming it to BMPp (unless of course it is really that easy)? This is the first time I've run into this file format, and it took a bit on Google, Bing, and Wikipedia to find the information that I've posted here. Any further help would be appreciated.

  • bluray playback stuttering/choppy on mac

    I have had a few issues with bluray playback on mac with the following details: 2.4 GHz Core 2 duo NVidia 8600 m GT 256 mb ram 4 GB ram OSX Lion 10.7.5 Using VLC 2.03 for playback Files either mounted as a disc or stored on hardisk. I have tried various sources and playback is always choppy and stutters. Where the video and audio pause for a few seconds before resuming ok. If I transcode the same bluray files into mkv files play back is seemless. I am not applying any compression and the resolution is the same as is the nominal file size. For a recent example 11.2 GB m2ts and 10.5 GB mkv file. This stuttering and choppy playback of bluray files through VLC has occured for a number of different sources. For each of these sources transcoding to mkv solves the stuttering/choppiness. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

    We're using Mac OSX 10.6.8 with NFS for home directories. Chrome seems to not like this, for a user who is logged in more than one machine. AFP was ok, but for other reasons we need NFS. It only allows you to start one instance. Ie, userA logged in to Mac1, Mac2. Can only have chrome open on Mac1 OR mac2, not both. I have read at this thread, changing working directory, and sym link can fix... but I can't find the details. Can someone help?

Basically the ability to manage my Macs easily and in a native way. At first I tried the magic triangle solution, but I found this to be very complicated. Not only does it require a Mac OS X Server, but it gives you two points of failure. Additionally each Mac workstation must be bound to both servers.     I'm trying to connect a VPN connection (on Mac OS X 10.6.6) through a Check point java applet. The first time it ran I chose NOT to give it access to my files and such and now every time I try to lunch the applet it tells me too "Please confirm the use of this Java applet and then refresh or reopen the window." But I don't know how to confirm it nor delete the applet. How can I change the permissions afterwards and where can I find java applets installed on my computer? Update: This turns out to be a problem in Firefox. Cleared cookies, Java cache and certificate in Safari and it seems to work.

    I'm currently installing a number of Apple Xserve boxes running Mac OS X Server (10.6). After poking and prodding for a while I can't find any obvious way, or documentation telling me how, to set up the 2 ethernet ports in a failover or load-balancing configuration. There seems to be an obvious way to do link aggregation, but not failover or load-balancing? What's the default configuration if I enable both ports with the same (manually configured) IP address?

    I recently upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard, and now I'm having strange issues with a previously working NetExtender. After debugging a "can't read/execute /etc/ppp/peers" problem (since /etc/ppp didn't exist) and following the advice on the Apple support forums (I tried a clean install, and sudo chmod u+s /usr/sbin/pppd had no effect), I'm getting this error: Connected. Logging in... Login successful. Using SSL Encryption Cipher 'DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA' Using new PPP frame encoding mechanism SSL-VPN logging out... FATAL: An error was detected in processing the options given, such as two mutually exclusive options being used. (2) SSL-VPN connection is terminated. Thanks for any help.

  • FFmpeg extract clip - stream frame rate differs from container frame rate (x264, aac)

    Summary H.264 video seems to have a really high frame rate that requires a scaling factor to the applied to the duration of video that I'm trying to extract (900x lower). Body I'm trying to extract a clip from a movie that I have in MP4 format (created using Handbrake). After trying mencoder and VLC, I decided to give FFmpeg a shot since it was the least troublesome when it came to copying the codecs. That is, compared to mencoder and VLC, the resulting file was still playable in QuickTime (I know about Perian, etc, I'm just trying to learn how all this works). Anyway, my command was as follows: ffmpeg -ss 01:15:51 -t 00:05:59 -i outofsight.mp4 \ -acodec copy -vcodec copy clip.mp4 During the copy, The following comes up: Seems stream 0 codec frame rate differs from container frame rate: 45000.00 (45000/1) -> 25.00 (25/1) Input #0, mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2, from outofsight.mp4': Duration: 01:57:42.10, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 830 kb/s Stream #0.0(und): Video: h264, yuv420p, 720x384, 25 tbr, 22500 tbn, 45k tbc Stream #0.1(eng): Audio: aac, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16 Output #0, mp4, to 'out.mp4': Stream #0.0(und): Video: libx264, yuv420p, 720x384, q=2-31, 90k tbn, 22500 tbc Stream #0.1(eng): Audio: libfaac, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16 Stream mapping: Stream #0.0 -> #0.0 Stream #0.1 -> #0.1 Press [q] to stop encoding frame= 2591 fps=2349 q=-1.0 size= 8144kB time=101.60 bitrate= 656.7kbits/s … Instead of a 5:59 duration clip, I get the entire rest of the movie. So, to test this, I ran the ffmpeg command with -t 00:00:01. What I got was exactly a 15:00 minute clip. So I did some black box engineering and decided to scale my -t option by calculating what value to enter given that 1 second was interpreted as 900 s. For my desired 359 s clip, I calculated 0.399 s and so my ffmpeg command became: ffmpeg -ss 01:15.51 -t 00:00:00.399 -i outofsight.mp4 \ -acodec copy -vcodec copy clip.mp4 This works, but I have no idea why the duration is scaled by 900. Investigating further, each ffmpeg run has the line: Seems stream 0 codec frame rate differs from container frame rate: 45000.00 (45000/1) -> 25.00 (25/1) 45000/25 = 1800. Must be a relation somewhere. Somehow, the obscenely high frame rate is causing issues with the timing. How is that frame rate so high? The best part about this is that the resulting clip.mp4 has the exact same feature (due to the copied video codec), and taking further clips from this needs the same scaling for the -t duration option. Therefore, I've made it available for anyone willing to check this out.     I have a Belgian AZERTY keyboard on my MacBook Pro. Sadly, it appears to be impossible to use Caps Lock to type numbers — I still need to hold Shift for every number I want to type. Is it possible to change the Caps Lock key’s function to Shift Lock so that it affects the whole keyboard rather than just the letters? I’d like to be able to type numbers without holding Shift.

  • Copy all files and folders excluding subversion files and folders on OS X

    I'm trying to copy all files and folders from one directory to another, but exclude certain files. Specifically, I want to exclude subversion files and folders. However, I'd like a general yet concise solution. I imagine I'll find the need to exclude several types of files in the near future. For example, I might want to exclude .svn, *.bak, and *.prj. Here is what I've put together so for, but it is not working for me. The first part, find works, but I'm doing something wrong with xargs and cp. I tried cp with and without the -R. Also, I'm using OS X and it appears to have a less featured version of xargs than linux systems. find ./sourcedirectory -not \( -name .svn -a -prune \) | xargs -IFILES cp -R FILES ./destinationdirectory
