  I am using gfortran to compile FORTRAN 77 and would like to have DEBUG build options by using the preprocessor directive #ifdef. However, when I use them I get compile time warnings "Illegal preprocessor directive". Is it possible to have this functionality without deviating from the standard toolchain?

  Does anyone know a c++ library that uses advanced encryption standard encryption that can achieve encryption and decryption (using counter mode) in just two lines of codes. No need of padding or buffering the plaintexts the library will take care of all this. I have had a look at crypto++, openssl and libtomcrypt but in these it seems I need to write codes to buffer and pad the plaintexts which I don't want. In brief, I need something along these lines: ciphertext = encrypt(ctr_mode(),plaintext,key) plaintext = decrypt(ctr_mode(),ciphertext,key) Thanks!

GL games typically have custom buttons, custom lists, etc. Take the Quake player list for example, if ported, it wouldnt be a typical UI list object.   I have both Fruityloops and Propellerheads Reason software synths on my Windows PC. Any way I can get at and script these from either Visual Basic or Python? Or at least send Midi messages to the synths from code? Update : attempts to use something like a "midi-mapper" (thanks for link MusiGenesis) don't seem to work. I know I can use jQuery.live() for dynamically adding click handlers etc, but how do I apply a jQueryUI button() to them?

If I change the alignment to the right then only the text will move to the right but the button itself will still be at the left.. How would I achieve this without knowing the bounds of the NSButton?   I would like to run a backup job on a directory tree from a bash script if any of the files have been modified in the last 30 minutes. I think I can hack together something using find with the -ctime flag, but I'm sure there is a standard way to examine a directory for changes. I know that I can inspect the ctime of the top level directory to see if files were added, but I need to be able to see changes also. FWIW, I am using duplicity to backup directories to S3.
