Why does my simple strict XHTML file give errors when I include jquery?

How do I build latest Tycho

I've tried to build Tycho now for a couple of hours and just can't get it to work. I've followed these instructions: https://docs.sonatype.org/display/TYCHO/BuildingTycho So, I've downloaded Eclipse 3.6RC2 and Delta-packs linked from this instruction (is it for 3.5 only?): http:// (remove space) aniefer.blogspot.com/2009/06/using-deltapack-in-eclipse-35.html I've added the DeltaPack to the TargetPlatform inside of the Eclipse-installation. I've installed Maven: Apache Maven 3.0-beta-1 (r935667; 2010-04-19 19:00:39+0200) I can run the first bootstrap of the build, but the second fails: mvn clean install -e -V -Pbootstrap-2 -Dtycho.targetPlatform=$TYCHO_TARGET_PLATFORM ERROR] Internal error: java.lang.RuntimeException: Could not resolve plugin org.eclipse.core.net.linux.x86_null -> [Help 1] I've tried different stuff, I built an older revision against 3.5 as in this blogpost: http:// (remove space) divby0.blogspot.com/2010/03/im-in-love-with-tycho-08-and-maven-3.html and that actually built a running maven, but that version then can't find the tycho plugin: org.apache.maven.plugin.version.PluginVersionResolutionException: Error resolving version for plugin 'org.codehaus.tycho:maven-tycho-plugin' from the repositories [local (/Users/viktor/.m2/repository), central (http://repo1.maven.org/maven2)]: Plugin not found in any plugin repository I thought that the point was that the plugin was going to build in when I had built a Tycho-dist…? Java: Reading images and displaying as an ImageIcon

I'm writing an application which reads and displays images as ImageIcons (within a JLabel), the application needs to be able to support jpegs and bitmaps. For jpegs I find that passing the filename directly to the ImageIcon constructor works fine (even for displaying two large jpegs), however if I use ImageIO.read to get the image and then pass the image to the ImageIcon constructor, I get an OutOfMemoryError( Java Heap Space ) when the second image is read (using the same images as before). For bitmaps, if I try to read by passing the filename to ImageIcon, nothing is displayed, however by reading the image with ImageIO.read and then using this image in the ImageIcon constructor works fine. I understand from reading other forum posts that the reason that the two methods don't work the same for the different formats is down to java's compatability issues with bitmaps, however is there a way around my problem so that I can use the same method for both bitmaps and jpegs without an OutOfMemoryError? (I would like to avoid having to increase the heap size if possible!) Hudson fails to use unix user/group to do authentication

I'm trying to use unix user/group database as security realm of hudson. The linux server is using NIS for user management. My account could login the hudson server via ssh. And the hudson server is running by user 'hudson' that is also a member of group 'shadow', so hudson could read /etc/shadow. And I tested the configuration using 'test' button, hudson tells me it works well. But I can't use my unix account and password to login the hudson sever. Spring security and authentication provider

Why is Lua considered a game language?

I have been learning about Lua in the past month and I'm absolutely in love with the language, but all I see around that is built with lua are games. I mean, the syntax is very simple, there is no fuss, no special meaning characters that makes code look like regex, has all the good things about a script language and integrates so painlessly with other languages like C, Java, etc. The only down-side I saw so far is the prototype based object orientation that some people do not like (or lack of OO built-in). I do not see how ruby or python are better, surely not in performance ( http://shootout.alioth.debian.org/gp4/benchmark.php?test=all&lang=lua&lang2=python ). I was planning on writting a web app using lua with the Kepler framework and Javascript, but the lack of other projects that use lua as a web language makes me feel a bit uneasy since this is my first try with web development. Lua is considered a kids language, most of you on stackoverflow probably only know the language because of the WoW addons. I am trying to use jdk6 to run JBOSS 5.1, and I downloaded the JDK6 version of JBOSS 5.1. This works fine and my EAR application deploys fine. The only way I found for the code above to run under JDK6 was to take the JBOSS_HOME/lib/endorsed folder and copy it to JDK6_HOME/lib. This seems like it shouldn't be necessary, but it is. Is there any other way to make this work other than using the workaround I just described?

How do I sort an internationalized i18n table with symfony and doctrine?

I would like to display a list of records from an internationalized table using sfDoctrinePager. Not all the records have been translated to all the languages supported by the application, so I had to implement a fallback mechanism for some fields (by overriding the getFoo() function in the Bar.class.php, as explained in another post here). I have different fallback list for each culture. Everything works fine until when it comes to sorting the records in alphabetical order. I'm sorting the records at the SQL (Dql) level, by adding an -orderBy('t.name') to the query: $q = Doctrine::getTable('Foo') ->createQuery('f') ->leftJoin('f.Translation t') ->orderBy('t.name') But here come the troubles: the list gets not sorted correctly, regardless of the active culture. I get rather better results when I limit the translations to the active culture, like this: ->leftJoin('f.Translation t WITH lang = ?', $request->getParameter('sf_culture'); Then the sorting is correct, as far as all the translations exist for the active culture. If a translation does not exist and I have to take the name from the fallback language, the record will be displayed at the very beginning of the list (I understand this happens because the value for the current culture is null). My question is: is there a best practice for getting internationalized fields (needing fallbacks) sorted correctly with doctrine and sfDoctrinePager? Thank you in advance.

when a button click, I need to have stuff running in my background, so I have a async Servlet. From my managed bean, if I do redirect, it works great (meaning that it execute my run() method inside my class that extends Runnable correctly). In the 1.6 API, is there a way to ensure that the onStart() method of a Service is called after the service is killed due to memory pressure? From the logs, it seems that the "process" that the service belongs to is restarted, but the service itself is not. I have placed a Log.d() call in the onStart() method, and this is not reached. To test my service under memory pressure, I spawn it from an activity, then launch the web browser and visit some Javascript-heavy websites like Slashdot until my service is killed. How do I fix this installation problem with multicore Solr on Ubuntu 10.04?

Following instructions from the two sites below, I've installed Tomcat 6 and Solr 1.4. http://gist.github.com/204638 https://wiki.fourkitchens.com/display/TECH/Solr+1.4+on+Ubuntu+9.10+and+CentOS+5 I have successfully got it up and running on a server running 9.04 with multicore support, but on the 10.04 I can't seem to get it to work. Android - ListActivity, add Header and Footer view

I'm using ListActivity, listview. listView = getListView(); just working perfectly. I added footer view as LayoutInflater inflater = getLayoutInflater(); listView.addFooterView( inflater.inflate( R.layout.footer, null ), null, false); and everything was shiny but ugly, so i wanted to add this footer view (which contains only 1 edittext and only 1 button ) to header of listView as LayoutInflater inflater = getLayoutInflater(); listView.addHeaderView( inflater.inflate( R.layout.footer, null ), null, false); and suddenly everything goes wrong, and i get RuntimeException immediately. Suspended(exception RuntimeException) ActivityThread.performLaunchActivity(ActivityThread$ActivityRecord, Intent) ActivityThread.handleLaunchActivity(ActivityThread$ActivityRecord, Intent) ActivityThread.access$2200(ActivityThread, Activity$ActiviyRecord, Intent), so on.. Why is it throws exception ? What is different between addFooterView and addHeaderView, and how can i add Header to ListActivity ? UPDATE So as you can read in comments, my logcat still doesn't work, but i just tried next at this moment: } catch(Exception e){ Writer result = new StringWriter(); PrintWriter printWriter = new PrintWriter(result); e.printStackTrace(printWriter); String error = result.toString(); } and afterward i put breakpoint, and i can read error in expressions section. it said : java.lang.IllegalStateException: Cannot add header view to list -- setAdapter has already been called. it was instructive for all of us. After change sort of commands, it works perferctly.
