• how do i get the dimensions of the visible swf in AS 3.0

  my movie is 500 by 200 px. However i am loading display object much larger than that and have just a portion of them show. How do i programatically get the visible dimesions? root.stage.width gives me the extended value. for the sake of good programing practices i dont want to hardcore the values.

• Sharing code between two different git projects

  I have two different .Net projects, hosted on github. I would like to create a shared "commons" library for the two projects. How should I structure my repository to facilitate this sharing? Ideally, a change in this common library in one project could easily be pushed into the other project. I prefer to keep the code itself editable from the two projects (within Visual Studio), and not include it as a library. Are there best practices for this?

• Has Windows 7 Fixed the 255 Character File Path Limit?

  As I understand it, the limitation of 255 characters in a file path is a Windows limitation. What is the reasoning for this? If so, has this been resolved in Windows 7? In our continuous integration practices, we often have deeply nested project structures and it would be extremely useful to be able to go beyond 255 characters. Right now we are somewhat forced to structure our projects in such a way as to not hit this artificial ceiling.
