    I am purchasing a keyboard without a numeric pad (a Cooler Master Storm Rapid but my question probably applies to any keyboard without a numeric pad) I very occasionally use the numeric pad on my current keyboard, in conjunction with the Alt key, to enter special characters. If the keyboard does not make any special provision for this (no obvious keypad overlay on main section of keyboard, nothing on this subject in user-guide) - is there any way to retain this Alt+nnn capability under Windows-7?

    I've followed this guide: http://www.phamviet.net/2012/06/03/centos-6-2-compile-php-5-4-2-from-source/ It all works as it should, but when I'm done and I type 'service httpd restart' following by 'php --version', it still displays the old 5.1.6 PHP version. This is 'uname -a' : Linux xxxxxx.com 2.6.32-042stab061.2 #1 SMP Fri Aug 24 09:07:21 MSK 2012 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux It's a VPS hosted in my main dedicated server (OpenVZ). Not sure what else to say, but I appreciate any help :) OS: CentOS 6

    Just started working with CentOS 5 after wanting to leave Ubuntu server for something a bit more industry-standard, and while trying to configure php-cgi, I run into this: [root@~~~~~~~ run]# /etc/init.d/php_cgi start Starting php-cgi: spawn-fcgi: child exited with: 255 [FAILED] Not 100% sure what's happening here, but no Google result returns anything regarding error code 255.   • How do I login once I promote my Windows Server 2012 to domain controller in my Amazon VPC?

    I am following this guide: http://d36cz9buwru1tt.cloudfront.net/pdf/EC2_AD_How_to.pdf to setup my domain controller. I get AD installed correctly, but when I do the promotion to DC, the server restarts and when I try to access it, I am unable to login using any of the local system accounts. I even created my own separate user account, but that did not help. I made sure to disable the amazon settings for renaming the machine, the machine has a static ip and has been renamed.

  • hp officejet 5510 is only printing blank pages if used with Ubuntu 9.10

    I'm trying to setup a hp officejet 5510 using HPLIP 3.10.2 under Ubuntu 9.10. The installation of the driver according to this guide was no problem but after installing and selecting the printer I was only able to print blank pages. The printer is working well under windows and scanning (its a multi-functional printer) is also possible under Ubuntu. Does anyone know this problem and a possible solution?

But in there I didn't find an entry for basic commands like ls or ln and a layman's explanation of all the flags and options. Could anybody recommend me something?

  • Email client wont connect to SMTP Authentication server

    Im having trouble installing SMTH Auth for my ubuntu email server. I have followed ubuntu own guide for SMTH AUT (https://help.ubuntu.com/14.04/serverguide/postfix.html). But my email client thunderbird is giving this error " lost connection to SMTP-client 127.0.0.1." I cant add new users to thundbird either because of this connection problem. Do i have to alter any setting on my Thunderbird perhaps since ? I did try to make thunderbird use SSL for imap as well but that neither works. I restarted postfix and dovecot to find errors but both run just fine. Prior to SMTP auth changes thunderbird could connect just fine to my server and send mails. This is my main.cf file in postfix.     My current PHP5.3 installation was compiled with libmysql by default. To run certain mysqli functions, I need the mysqlnd library, but I can't seem to find a step by step guide giving proper description how to recompile PHP 5.3 on Debian 6 with custom settings. All I found was the configuration parameter on the PHP.net manual (http://php.net/manual/en/mysqlinfo.library.choosing.php) saying that this is a compile time decision: $ ./configure --with-mysqli=mysqlnd --with-pdo-mysql=mysqlnd --with-mysql=mysqlnd Any ideas how to do it?     Currently I've Followed this Guide: http://lifehacker.com/5467758/move-the-users-directory-in-windows-7 Pointed my C:\Users, C:\Program Files (x86), C:\Program Files directory's to their respective counterparts on the B: drive. I used mklink /J D:\Users B:\Users (D was the C: drives name in recovery) but when I come to boot, all I get is that the profile can't be loaded. I have to accomplish this, and don't really mind reinstalling as its a fresh install anyway.
