  • Why can I no longer pin tabs in Google Chrome?

    I am using the latest dev channel version of Chrome in Ubuntu 9.10. Before Chrome automatically updated a few days ago, I had the option to pin tabs. This option no longer appears when I right-click on a tab. Is anyone else having these problems? If not, any idea what I can do to fix this? Thanks.

    I have an Ubuntu Virtualbox guest with two network interface, eth0 (NAT) and eth1 (bridged). I want to connect to a PPTP VPN using eth1, but I don't know how to specify which interface to use. If i just try: sudo pon myvpn nodetach It fails with: Using interface ppp0 Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/pts/1 Modem hangup Connection terminated. Looking at routes with route seems to indicate that eth0 is being used: x.x.x.x.no 10.0.2.2 255.255.255.255 UGH 0 0 0 eth0

  • Bridging two wireless interfaces with brctl?

    I have this topology: [internet] ^ L-------[wlan0]-[host]-[wlan1]-----[client-1] I tried to bridge wlan0 wlan1 but it wont work with brctl; but magically when I issue this command #iw set dev wlan0 4addr on it adds wlan0 to the bridge BUT I lost all internet connection and I was unable to hook it to the internet router. can somebody please explain why did that happen and is there a way to get this done ?

My question is, will staying with a hosting company (namely, FatCow) be a complete disaster? Or is there an alternative?     I'm using CloudInit to automate the startup of my instances on AWS. I followed the (scarce) documentation available at http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~cloud-init-dev/cloud-init/trunk/annotate/head%3A/doc/examples/cloud-config.txt and examples on /usr/share/doc/cloud-init, but still haven't figured out how to change the default username (ubuntu, id:1000). I know I can create a script to manually delete the default ubuntu and add my user, but seems counter intuitive given that CloudInit exist exactly to automate the initial setup. Any ideas?

Whe I launch the program in the emulator, I get a huge number of errors (none of the exceptions seems to be related with lines in my code).   • Javascript: selfmade methods not working correctly

    Hi everyone, I tried to figure this out for some days now, I tried to use my own object to sort of replace the global object to reduce problems with other scripts (userscripts, chrome extensions... that kind of stuff). However I can't get things to work for some reason. I tried some debugging with JSLint, the developer tools included in Google Chrome, Firebug and the integrated schript debugger in IE8 but there is no error that explains why it doesn't work at all in any browser I tried. I tried IE 8, Google Chrome 10.0.612.3 dev, Firefox 3.6.13, Safari 5.0.3 and Opera 11.     Hello, I want to setup Oracle for SSL communication. I am not using SSL authentication for database user. As first requirement, generated self signed certificate using OpenSSL and added certificate to wallet. The wallet location is specified in server configuration. Created listener and it is starting however it does not provide any service. The default listener (non SSL) is working fine. When I execute LSNRCTL.EXE status SSLLISTENER it gives below output.   • Windows system monitoring and profiling

    I have several dozen 64-bit Windows 2003 servers in a high performance environment with very bursty system utilization. I am looking for a tool (or tools) to monitor and analyze system performance (eg, CPU utilization, bandwidth, etc). This tool can either query servers from a central location (SNMP) or require installation of a component on each server. It should poll on a 1-second interval. It should be able to generate pretty graphs which show trends over time. As a nice-to-have, it should be able to send out emails or IMs when certain thresholds are exceeded. The tools I have investigated so far, including Solarwinds and PRTG, are not designed to poll this frequently. They seem to be designed for a ~30-second interval. Solarwinds wouldn't go lower than 3-sec, and PRTG chokes at 1-sec. They both default to 1-min. All three tools seem more focused on outage monitoring and reporting than metric collection. Given the bursty nature of our applications, such infrequent polling would result in a very inaccurate picture of performance. I am considering rolling my own solution using perfmon. This would be a lot of work, and seems like reinventing the wheel. Are there any tools out there that meet my needs?

  • Need a way to determine if a file is done being written to.

    The situation I'm in is this - there's a process that's writing to a file, sometimes the file is rather large say 400 - 500MB. I need to know when it's done writing. How can I determine this? If I look in the directory I'll see it there but it might not be done being written. Plus this needs to be done remotely - as in on the same internal LAN but not on the same computer and typically the process that wants to know when the file writing is done is running on a Linux box with a the process that's writing the file and the file itself on a windows box. No samba isn't an option. xmlrpc communication to a service on that windows box is an option as well as using snmp to check if that's viable. Ideally Works on either Linux or Windows - meaning the solution is OS independent. Works for any type of file. Good enough: Works just on windows but can be done through some library or whatever that can be accessed with Python. Works only for PDF files. Current best idea is to periodically open the file in question from some process on the windows box and look at the last bytes checking for the PDF end tag and accounting for the eol differences because the file may have been created on Linux or Windows.

    Hi Guys I have (yet another) powershell query. I have an array in powershell which i need to use the remove() and split commands on. Normally you set an array (or variable) and the above methods exist. On the below $csv2 array both methods are missing, i have checked using the get-member cmd. How can i go about using remove to get rid of lines with nan.
