  • What is a cheap CDN that supports RTMP streaming?

    I hope someone can help. I have been looking into trying to stream movies into my client's site. They are videos about 1 hour long and for web in .flv or .m4v are about 320 megs. We need to get these videos off our server while providing our visitors a way to scrub through the video. I know Limelight does it, but their min plan is $1,000 a month. This is overkill for our needs. Someone told me to go with CacheFly, but they don't support true streaming. SimpleCDN seems to be sold out at the moment. Please help!

  • Linux: Ways to communicate with kernel module from user space.

    Hello, What are the ways to communicate with a kernel module from user space? By communication i mean sending information and commands between the module and a user space process. I currently know of two way: open/close/read/write/ioctl on published device node. read/write on exported and hooked /proc file. More specifically, can someone advice the best way to communicate with a kernel module that does not actually drives any hardware and therefore should not be littering /dev with stub nodes that exists solely for ioctl calls? I mostly need to check its various status variables and send it a block of data with a request type tag and see if the request succeeded. Inso.

    I am trying to view camera feed from a Logitech9000 camera using DSVL(DirectShow Video Library) http://sourceforge.net/projects/dsvideolib/. The xml file currently looks as below: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <dsvl_input xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="C:\Documents and Settings\Thomas\My Documents\projects\ARToolKit &amp; DSVideoLib\ARVideoLib\DsVideoLib\DsVideoLib.xsd"> <camera show_format_dialog="false" friendly_name="Logitech Webcam Pro 9000"> <pixel_format> <RGB24 flip_v="false"/> </pixel_format> </camera> </dsvl_input> However, the image that comes up looks vertically inverted. I tried changing the flip_v value to true in the config above but it did not make any difference. Any suggestions?

I have tried snoopy (http://sourceforge.net/projects/usbsnoop/) but I can't get it working. Possibly I would need to go down the route of installing an earlier version of windows.   • mmap only needed pages of kernel buffer to user space

    See also this answer: http://stackoverflow.com/a/10770582/1284631 I need something similar, but without having to allocate a buffer: the buffer is large, in theory, but the user space program only needs to access some parts of it (it mocks some registers of a hardware). As I cannot allocate with vmalloc_user() such a large buffer (kernel 32 bit, in embedded environment, no swap...), I followed the same approach as in the quoted answer, trying to allocate only those pages that are really requested by the user space. So: I use a my_mmap() function for the device file (actually, is the .mmap field of a struct uio_info) to set up the fields of the vma, then, in the vm_area_struct's .fault field (also named my_fault()), I should return a page. except that: In the my_fault() method of vm_area_struct, I cannot obtain a page through: vmf->page=vmalloc_to_page(my_buf + (vmf->pgoff << PAGE_SHIFT)); since there is no allocated buffer: my_buf = vmalloc_user(MY_BUF_SIZE); fails with "allocation failed: out of vmalloc space - use vmalloc= to increase size." (and there is no room or swap to increase that vmalloc= parameter). So, I would need to get a page from the kernel and fill the vmf->page field. How to allocate a page (I assume that the offset of the page is known, as it is vm->pgoff). What base memory should I use instead of my_buf? PS: I also did set up the vma->flags |= VM_NORESERVE; (in the my_mmap()), but not sure if it helps. Is there any vmalloc_user_unreserved()-like function? (let's say, lazy allocation) Also, writing 1 to /proc/sys/vm/overcommit_memory and large values (eg 500) to /proc/sys/vm/overcommit_ratio before trying to my_buf=vmalloc_user(<large_size>) didn't work.

  • I want to establish a TCP/IP connection over a UART connection (Windows XP/7)

    I want to connect two computer via serial but for each to see each other via a TCP/IP connection. Ie, create new ethernet ports on the computers that are in actual fact serial ports. The reason for this is that I am actually testing the medium in which the serial connection is made (wireless), and part of the experiment will be to use TCP/IP. Preferably I would use something that I can configure (max packet size and setting serial delimiters).

Status Local Remote Network OK Z: \\10.x.x.x\Public Microsoft Windows Network X: \\10.y.y.y\Public My Network Redirector The Microsoft Windows Network(SMB)'s Status has OK value, but we don't. It's just empty. We implemented NPEnumResource function in our Network Provider dll. But I don't know how can I set the value(OK). How can I do that? Thanks

I see that on the website of mongo there is a list of drivers, and I see that you can add drivers in netbeans. I do not know if the same thing, or if this can be used.     The API defined in the ADL SDK manual reads: int ADL_Display_ConnectedDisplays_Get(int iAdapterIndex, int* lpConnections) They say that lpConnections is the pointer to the bit field indicating whether the output connectors on the specified adapter have devices physically attached to them. This information is exactly what I want but nowhere in the documentation I could find any data on what the various bits in the lpConnections obtained might mean. I also tried going through the header files but found nothing relevant on this. I know this is very specific to but can anyone here answer?

    I am trying to capture video from usb camera using OpenCv. #include <highgui.h> #include <iostream> using namespace std; using namespace cv ; int main() { VideoCapture cap (-1); if(!cap.isOpened()) cout << "Cam initialize failed" ; else cout << "Cam initialized" ; return 0; } It is failing to initialize the camera. cap.isOpened() is returning zero. The same program, with same version of OpenCv and same usb camera, is correctly running in my friend's machine. I am running fedora 16. I did some searching in Google and Stack Overflow. But no useful help. Any idea ?

    Hello, Many Zw* functions that work with files (such as ZwCreateFile) need to be called at PASSIVE_LEVEL with APCs enabled: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff566424%28VS.85%29.aspx. This is because, internally, I/O operations are asynchronously and the completion of an operation is delivered through an APC (correct me if I'm wrong). However, the documentation for similar functions from a mini-filter (such as FltCreateFile, FltReadFile, etc) does not specify that APCs should be enabled. Is it safe to call FltCreateFile/FltReadFile with APCs disabled? Thanks!

I think this is happened because i minimize the form and when it copy the image from this clipboard it doesn't shhow anything. How can i solve this problem . Any type of help will be appreciated.     Hello, I am running into an "out of memory" error from OpenGL on glReadPixels() under low-memory conditions. I am writing a plug-in to a program that has a robust heap mechanism for such situations, but I have no idea whether or how OpenGL could be made to use it for application memory management. The notion that this is even possible came to my attention through this [albeit dated] thread on a similar issue under Mac OS X: http://lists.apple.com/archives/Mac-opengl/2001/Sep/msg00042.html I am using Windows XP, and have seen it on multiple NVidia cards.     Is there a copy of the file saved to the ipad/ipod when using progressive http download (apple segmented) that the user could potentially copy off the device? meaning, is this scenario considered 'safe' from a content protection pov: 1. user comes to websites with movies behind paywall 2. user selects a movie to watch online (progressively downloaded or 'pseudo-streamed') 3. segments are downloaded seamlessly by html5 video tag as part of .m3u8 4. movie plays/ends. is there any full copy of this movie on the device that can be transferred off? anyone know apple's stance on this?

    I want to develop a program that will run on the background of my Ubuntu 12.04 so when some text is selected in some textbox of any running program and some key-combination is pressed (like ctrl-F12), the text will be cut, reversed, and pasted in the same place. I know some programs that do it on windows. It is useful in some programs and web-pages that do not support right-to-left languages like arabic and hebrew - the letters are printed from left to right so the text becomes reversed. More specifically I need it in Prezi that has this kind of bug in their embedded flash editor (I thought about writing a chrome-plugin, but I don't think such plugin can manipulate the selected text inside a flash objects). Do you know if such a program exist? Where should I start reading in order to develop a program with such capabilities (manipulate selected text in other programs)? Thanks

    Hello, This image gives a good picture about Virtual Adress space. But it only says half of the story. It only gives complete picture of User Adress space ie.. lower 50% (or 75% in some cases). What about the rest 50% (or 25%) which is occupied by the kernel. I know kernel also has so many different things like kernel modules , device drivers, core kernel itself. There must be some kind of layout right? What is its layout? If you say its Operating System dependent. I would say, there are two major operating systems Windows & Linux. Please give answer for any one these.
