We're looking for some tools/plugins for: GUI-like web design (drag and drop components) WYSIWYG The tools must be *free We like GWT but any other UI framework is fine. Plugins for NetBeans or Eclipse would be great. Any ideas?

  • Tool to monitor IE performance running JavaScript

    Hi, Company I work for are one of the largest betting companies in Europe and the website has thousands of lines of JavaScript on all our pages. Lately Internet Explorer versions earlier than version 9 are running painfully slow and I want to be able to monitor what parts of a page load (including scripts) that are slow. I know that IE are slower in general and has DOM API issues etc. What I want to accomplish is a way to quickly identify slow parts and see if we can replace the code with IE specific code that will render with higher performance.   • Unable to start Tomcat 6.x when Mac OS X 10.6 is boot up

    I am using Mac OS X 10.6 and installed MAMP and Tomcat. My Tomcat is installed in /Users/(userID)/Tomcat I can start Tomcat server in Terminal without a problem But it cannot be started automatically when Mac OS X is boot up. I put a file org.apache.tomcat.plist in /Library/LaunchDaemons Disabled Label org.apache.tomcat ProgramArguments /Users/henryfok/Tomcat/bin/startup.sh RunAtLoad Any hint ?

  • Lining up the text in a tool tip, with the text in a combobox

    I see a lot of programs where if the text doesn't fit inside the bounds of the control, you can put your mouse over the control and the tooltip text will show you the full unclipped text, and also the tooltip text lines up completly with the text in the control. I'm trying to do that with a combobox in VB 2005 (.net version 2.0). In the tooltip draw event I've tried setting the tooltip location to the location of the AssociatedControl.DisplayRectangle, and the AssociatedControl.ClientRectangle. Each of these seem to put the tooltip text in the top left corner of the combobox, just slightly offset from the text in the combobox. Is there some type of padding I need to account for? or what's going on here?

    I ask this because I am currently trying to work out my own technique, and there are huge strategic hangups for the entire site when your begin this. Of them are: Using jCrop and rMagick, it takes up a huge amount of processing ( to which I have backgrounded ). Because I have it backgrounded, I must by ajax develop a feature that auto-updates every five seconds to check when the backgrounding is done. Has anyone accomplished this with their sites? If so, what are some creative techniques you came across to keep the processing streamline, and the users happy?
