  • mysql.sock doesn't get installed after mysql installation on snow leopard

    This is a recent problem... MySQL was working and a couple of days ago I must have done something. I deleted MySQL and tried reinstalling using the .dmg file. The mysql.sock file never gets created and I get the following error messages: Hristo$ mysql Enter password: ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) I also tried stopping Apache and installing but Apache gave me an error... I don't know if this is good or bad: Hristo$ sudo apachectl stop launchctl: Error unloading: org.apache.httpd I tried the MacPorts installation as well but the socket file still didn't get created. I don't really know what to do and I don't want to reinstall Snow Leopard and start from scratch :/ Any ideas? Thanks, Hristo

    VMWare tools not installing on Ubuntu 12.04. I'm using Chef to manage the installation, but the Apt commands fail if run manually. I'm using the VMWare tool Debian repo.   • Magento started showing PHP language errors since I downloaded the blank theme using Connect

    I used the Magento Connect downloader to install the blank theme extension, but I did not switch to it as I was unable to access any-page anymore. Instead, it started showing php errors for front-end and Magento generated security errors for admin. Frontend Error: Fatal error: Call to a member function toHtml() on a non-object in D:\xampp\htdocs\newpinch\app\code\core\Mage\Core\Model\Layout.php on line 529 Admin error on Log-in: There has been an error processing your request Exception printing is disabled by default for security reasons. Error log record number: 1608724822 Link to the theme extension I installed. I didn't even change the theme from the default, can anyone please tell me what am I doing wrong. I just installed the theme and then clicked on "Return to admin" in Magento Connect but it was unable to go instead started refreshed the Magento Connect page, only this time without any CSS styling. The only page that still appears correctly is the admin log-in page. Please help me, I have already tried the forums at magentocommerce.com and their community sucks. 0 views & 0 replies. please help...

The line breaks seem to have been introduced in the process of paasting into this form. Well spotted - I was using a PDF file name "ascii". I added a .pdf extension but still get the error. I suspect you're right that it's to do with admin rights. Here's more about the setup and what I'm trying to achieve. Win2pdf is a product for writing PDFs by works by simulating a Windows printer. You "print" the page, select win2pdf in the print dialog and it then asks for a file name. I have it installed on my pc (called Neil) and it works fine in this conventional way. My aim is to write an html page to a PDF file using win2pdf - but via ASP/vbscript/javascript rather than with manual intervention. The script for doing this was provided by win2PDF's tech support but when it did not work, that was the limit of their understanding. In the sample script the file ascii.asp just produces a table of ascii codes/characters. The URL given is on my own PC which has IIS set up to run scripts which it does fine. The error I get occurs on about the fourth line executed. I am logged in with full admin rights - I think! But I'm no expert. I hope this helps to give some more specific suggestions about how to check/fix the admin rights.

    Hello, I am using the validator plugin of jQuery. By default the error label is added below my form. I want to add it above my form. So what I am doing is adding the code below in the validate(): errorPlacement: function (error, element) { error.insertBefore('form#emailForm'); } The problem is that the error label now is added a lot of times above the form, in every click. The Apache Server resolve all request with a domain such as www.request.com, and the path of CAS Server is www.request.com/cas, and JBOSS Server is www.request.com/jboss (This app got a CAS client). My problem is if I set SSLVerifyClient require for the NameVirtualHost of www.request.com in my Apache Server, I got a HTTP 500 error during the redirecting to the JBOSS Server(http://www.request.com/jboss), after logined in the CAS login page successfully.   • LNK2001: What have I forgotton to set?

    Following on from my previous question regarding debugging of native code, I decided to create a simple test from a console app as I wasn't getting anywhere with debugging the service directly. So I created a vc6 console app, added the dll project to the workspace and ran it. Instead of executing as expected it spat out the following linker errors: main.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol "int __stdcall hmDocumentLAdd(char *,char *,long,char *,char *,long,long,long,long *)" (?hmDocumentLAdd@@YGHPAD0J00JJJPAJ@Z) main.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol "int __stdcall hmGetDocBasePath(char *,long)" (?hmGetDocBasePath@@YGHPADJ@Z) Debug/HazManTest.exe : fatal error LNK1120: 2 unresolved externals This seems to be a simple case of forgetting something in the linker options: However everything seems to be normal, and the lib file, dll and source is available. If I change the lib file to load to nonsense it kicks up the fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file "asdf.lib", so that isn't a problem. I have previously linked to dll and they have just worked, so what I have forgotton to do?

    This request caused a new process to be started for your application, and thus caused your application code to be loaded for the first time. This request may thus take longer and use more CPU than a typical request for your application. I've handled all the situations, also DeadlineExceededError too. But sometimes I see these error messages in error logs. That request took about 10k ms, so it's not exceeded the limit too. But there is no other specific message about this error. All I know is that it returned HTTP 500. Is there anyone know the reason of these error messages? Thank you.

    Really Visual Studio can be so annoying sometimes... I did nothing else than deleting 3 UserControls in a folder. Since that time I get a error message I do not get rid of. Whatever I do I can not build successfully my project. I did not touch the SchoolAdministrationUC.xaml file , but I deleted 3 other UserControls also located in the path: TBM\View\SchoolclassAdministration\ Error message from VS: Error 1 The type or namespacename "SchoolclassAdministration" is in namespace "TBM.View" not available.     I'm at a loss to explain this one: I'm getting an error "91" (Object or With block not set) on the second line below: Dim rs As DAO.Recordset Set rs = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset("SELECT * FROM employees") The following also causes it: Set rs = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset("employees") Executing ?CurrentDb.Name alone in the immediate window causes the error as well. Now, clearly the database is open since I'm editing the form within it, so what can cause this error here?

  • How should I handle expected errors? eg. "username already exists"

    I am struggling to understand how I should design the error handling parts of my code. I recently asked a similar question about how I should go about returning server error codes to the user, eg. 404 errors. I learnt that I should handle the error from within the current part of the application; seem's simple enough. However, what should I do when I can't handle the error from the current link in the chain? For example, I may have a class that is used to manage authentication. One of it's methods could be createUser($username, $password). Within that function, I need to determine if the username already exists. If this is true, how should I alert the calling code about this? Returning null instead of a user object is one way. But how do I then know what caused the error? How should I handle errors in such a way that calling code can easily find out what caused the error? Is there a design pattern commonly used for this kind of situation?

  • How to find and fix issue with Pound and HAProxy

    Pound sits in front of HAProxy (on the same box) to perform SSL off-load. Requests are passed to 127.0.0.1:80 where HAProxy then balances the requests across backend servers for a hosted ASP .NET web app. A user is getting HTTP error 500 (Internal Server Error) returned to their browser this morning and I can see it is comming from Pound. They see no log entry in their web app (IIS) server logs, so its not hitting the back end servers. I think the problem is possibly with HAProxy.     Hi, I'm currently replicating the setup of a CentOS box an am running into a strange error while trying to mount a samba share that resides on a NAS. The error I'm getting is: mount error 127 = Key has expired Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g.man mount.cifs) The settings are identical to the old machine, the password is definitely correct as well. I have googled the issue of course, and looked at every single page that references this issue (not that many) and have still not found an answer. The older CentOS box is using version 3.0.28-0.el4.9 of Samba and the one I'm trying to setup now is 3.0.33-3.7.el5_3.1. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but it's certainly one of the only differences between the 2 setups. When I try the mount command this appears in the syslog: Sep 8 10:51:54 helvetica2 kernel: Status code returned 0xc0000072 NT_STATUS_ACCOUNT_DISABLED Sep 8 10:51:54 helvetica2 kernel: CIFS VFS: Send error in SessSetup = -127 Sep 8 10:51:54 helvetica2 kernel: CIFS VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return code = -127 The account is very much not disabled as it works on the old box using the same credentials.   • ssh + tinyproxy: poor performance

    I am currently in China and I would like to still visit some blocked websites (facebook, youtube). I have VPS in the USA and I have installed tinyproxy on it. I log in on my VPS with SSH port-forwarding and I have configured my browser appropriately. Everything works more or less: I can surf to those websites but everything is inusually slow and sometimes data transfer stops abruptly.   • Request Entity Too Large error while uploading files of more than 128KB over SSL

    We have a web portal setup on Java spring framework. It running on tomcat app server. Portal is served through apache web server connected to tomcat through JK connector. Entire portal is HTTPS enabled using 443 port of apache. Apache version is : Apache/2.4.2 (Unix). it is the latest stable version of apache web server. Whenever we try to upload files more than 128 KB into the portal, We are facing 413 error: Request Entity Too Large The requested resource /teamleadchoachingtracking/doFileUpload does not allow request data with POST requests, or the amount of data provided in the request exceeds the capacity limit. In the apache error log we get the following errors: AH02018: request body exceeds maximum size (131072) for SSL buffer AH02257: could not buffer message body to allow SSL renegotiation to proceed We did search over google and there were suggestions to put SSLRenegBufferSize as some high value like 10MB. Based on these suggestions, we had put the following entry in virtualhost section of httpd config file: SSLRenegBufferSize 10486000 But still the error persists. Also we have specified SSLVerifyClient none, but still renegotiation is happening. This is a very inconsistent and frustrating error. Any help will be highly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.
