  • Can a python view template be made to be 'safe/secure' if I make it user editable?

    Say I need to have a templating system where a user can edit it online using an online editor. So they can put if tags, looping tags etc., but ONLY for specific objects that I want to inject into the template. Can this be made to be safe from security issues? i.e. them somehow outputing sql connection string information or scripting things outside of the allowable tags and injected objects.

  • Application doesn't start

    Hello, I am having a rather strange problem, I deployed 2 .NET applications on my machine. Both run on v2.0. Now, while one of it works smoothly, the other one doesn't even start! Moreover, it doesn't throw any error, I couldn't see any error listings in the Event Viewer. Becoming hard to debug. On every other machine, both the exe's work perfectly fine! Any known issues?   • Best Practices for Working with Multiple Monitors in Visual Studio 2010

    Now that Visual Studio 2010 has support for multiple monitors, I am curious how other people have their environments arranged. I have yet to come up with an arrangement that I am really satisfied with. The current best I have come up with for my 2 monitor system is to have all code windows detached. Then, on my primary monitor, I am able to have two code windows side by side (using the Windows 7 keyboard shortcuts WinKey+LeftArrow and WinKey+RightArrow.) On my secondary monitor I put the rest of the IDE with all of the tool windows that are normally on the bottom (errors list, find window, call stack, etc...) docked where the code windows normally go. I've also tried having all those things detached and having almost nothing in the IDE proper. The problems with this layout are: Newly opened code windows always open in the IDE, not on top of one of the detached windows. Detached code windows do not remember their exact placement from session to session (they are slightly off, having me to use the winkey + arrow key shortcut again and again for each window. There seems to be no way to have the code panes aware that they are on top of one another (IE -- multiple tabs.) The CTRL+TAB shortcut always displays on top of the IDE proper. The Code Panes are always "on top" of (children of) the IDE. So clicking on any code pane brings the IDE to the foreground, even when I care only about that code pane, and not the IDE. Other more minor issues... What would go a long way to making this better is having the code panes detach such that they are tab strips that can have other code panes docked within them. The new multi-monitor support in VS2010 is good, but it still seems really lacking. Can these issues be solved with an add-in? If so, is anyone aware of one? Is there a better way to work with the IDE on multiple monitors than what I am doing? NOTE: While this question is subjective (there is certainly no "this is the best way and that's final" answer) I'd really like to know possibly better methods of working with the IDE than what I have come up with. The intent is not to start a "mine's best" flame war.

  • Cross platform millisecond timer lasting more than 49 days?

    Hey guys, I'm going to be developing a small dedicated server in C/C++ that will require uptime of forever. I've been looking into some time functions as millisecond timing is required for calculations. I have 2 problems that I'm facing: Using a 32bit integer to store the number of milliseconds since the operation began will wrap around at about the 49 days mark resetting to zero. There doesn't seem to be any standard system calls for getting elapsed milliseconds that are platform independant What should I do to resolve both these issues?

As I fas as I know, BigDecimal is used when arbitrary precision required, when deal with prices for example. Consider simple API updatePrice(Double d) Should i persist double as is or BigDecimal.valueOf(d) is preferable ?

QUESTION - If I use an abstract base class as the basis, can I specify an attribute/property in the class to be generic (e.g. the key property might be an 'int' in one case, or a 'string' in another)?

  • MonoTouch on Device - Vibrates at launch?

    I just deployed my app to my iPhone for the first time. Every time it launches it vibrates before running, and it runs fine. The build is a Debug | iPhone one of my app. Any ideas why it vibrates when it launches and how to stop that? It's definitely not something I coded up and I don't have any exceptions or issues when running in the simulator.

  • IE6 is duplicating characters, can't figure out why. Suggestions?

    Problem is located on http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com/ We have a dresses slider at the bottom, select tabs different dresses shown. Works fine everywhere else, but for some reason, in IE6, the letters "ls" (from the tab "Best Deals") are duplicating inside the content and causing rendering issues. I've yet to find anything that can fix this, or anything that can be blamed for causing this either. I've changed the letters at the end of Best Deals, and the duplicated letters change as well. Open to any suggestions.

  • About Backward Compatibility of .NET Framework 4

    We have an WPF Application build on .net framework 3.5. Some testers find if they uninstall .net framework 3.5, but install .net framework 4.0, our APP fails to launch itself. Dose this mean that .net framework 4.0 does not include all 3.5 libs, and users have to install .net 3.5 even though they have 4.0? I see here are some migration issues listed by Microsoft http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee941656.aspx#windows_presentation_foundation_wpf Are they all breaking changes so that the backward compatibility is ruined?     We are using VSS for version control (changing to another version control system is not an option right now), and are occassionally running into issues where a file has been completely deprecated with its functionality split into other new files. For historical archival reasons we need to keep those files in the version control sytem. Is there some way to clearly mark them as deprecated and no longer used?
