• jQuery Ajax: Copy - Paste thingy

  Hi everyone, I have a form where a check an input field for its value and then i do an Ajax call using the typewatch plugin ( a small little thing which detects that the user has stopped typing after a predefined interval ). It works great. As this field is a "coupon discount" in an order form, the value could be entered by copy pasting the "coupon code" from an email or something. It also works with Ctrl+C - Ctrl+V for Copy and paste but not when a user selects the text with the mouse, clicks copy from the context menu and then paste from this menu. Is there a way in jQuery to check for this kind of behaviour in jQuery somehow?

• How can I make Access combo boxes unfurl on arrow key down?

  With combo box controls, I'm used to being able tab to them, click the down arrow key to open up the options, and then use the up and down arrow keys to navigate those options. In an Access form I've designed, pressing down while a combo box is active moves to the next control. I already have tab for that, so how can I get the down arrow to behave as I expect? These combo boxes are the only thing between me and a mouse-free form, which I consider essential for data entry. Thanks in advance for your help!

  I've got a business class, Spam and the corresponding view class, SpamView. How can I augment MouseEvents coming out of SpamView so the MouseEvents which come out of it contain a reference to the instance of Spam which the SpamView is displaying? Things I've considered which don't work: Adding event listeners to each SpamView: the book keeping (making sure that they are added/removed properly) is a pain. Using event.target: the event's target may be a child of the SpamView (which isn't very useful) Listening for a MouseEvent, creating a new SpamViewMouseEvent, copying all the fields over, then dispatching that: copying all the fields manually is also a pain.

• Dropdownlists creates postback on key changes in IE

  I have created a label and a dropdownlist. The label has the dropdownlist as associated id. If I click on the label and then uses the mouse up or down the dropdownlist creates a postback for each click. This is quite anoying and doesn't happen if you click on the dropdownlist and uses key-up or key-down, or if you uses another browser than IE. Is it possibel to fix this, so you can use key-up and key-down without causing a postback, and first on the enter-key creates the postback (as it does if you click on the dropdownlist and not label)?

When an Item on a list is selected by single mouse click, i want my preview composite to show the data of the item.   Having problems related to WPF WebBrowser not having a visual. Reason being, that it actually a wrapper around the winforms browser. Anyways, I searched the web for any solution to this problem, and got hold of the following suggestions: http://chriscavanagh.wordpress.com/2009/08/25/a-real-wpf-webbrowser/ http://rob.runtothehills.org/archives/60 The first one solves everything, but seems like an overkill. Plus, the dll's should be licensed for commercial use. The second one seems simple, but not able to figure out when to refresh the screen. Plus there's so much to do like sending mouse and keyboard messages to the webbrowser. P.S. The problem I'm trying to solve is to show the same webbrowser on different windows. They both must be interactive, and always in sync visually.

I figure there must be a way to do it since every application is rendered in it's own surface and DWM composites them into the final image.

• How to make WPF app work as a child process in Citrix

  I am working on a 3rd party application that allows plugins to be written in .NET 1.1. I have decided I would like to write my plugin in a seperate process that is called from the .NET 1.1 application (achieved using Process.Start). This is fine- I create a new process that is a WPF app. When I launch this through MSTSC everything works as expected, however when I run the app through Citrix, the WPF child app fails to render correctly, and the mouse position starts going crazy- the child process window is basically not usable. Is there a way to avoid this happening? If I create a seperate WPF application and deploy this through Citrix everything works fine. If I create a child Windows forms app in .NET 3.5, that also works fine.

  I am developing a time management tool for my personal use. I prefer using keyboard over mouse, and on the interface have a general purpose text box which will act like a command line. I have just started thinking about what commands I need, what to use for the command names, how to pass in switches and parameters, and so forth. I wonder if some of you have come across a good read along these lines; something that describes the choices you have for designing a cli, and how those affect the complexity of the interpreter, and extendability of the commands. • Spring-webflow error popup tweak

  There is a link in a spring-webflow2 based application which start different flows. Flows are shown in popup (popup=true). If the session is expired or server is unavailable, the spring-webflow shows small empty popup with "Ajax Request Error" tooltip shown on mouse over. Is it possible to tweak the popup in order to give the user an ability to either re-login or to just close the popup and retry the request? EDIT: Or maybe some ideas how to force Spring-Dojo to make a redirect to login page?

  I'm writing a web application that autorefreshes data with an AJAX call at set intervals. Because it's doing that, server side user sessions never time out, since the last activity is refreshed with every ajax call. Are there good client side rules I could implement to time out the user? I.e. should I track mouse movements in the browser, etc., or should I point the AJAX calls to URLs that don't refresh the session? I like that my AJAX calls hit a session-enabled URL, because I can also validate that the user is logged in, etc. Any thoughts in terms of whether I should even bother timing out the users?

Mouse wheel scrolling support would be awesome, and I'm sure it can work, just not sure how to get it set up.   Hello everybody, I'm currently developing a web application and have run into a little problem. I'm using ExtJS, but I believe this to be a general JS question. When the cursor enters an HTML element, the onmouseover event is fired, when the cursor leaves that element, onmouseout is triggered. So far, so good. Unfortunately, it seems one can't fully rely on this behaviour. Very quick mouse movements can cause the event not to fire (as does repositioning the cursor with a pen tablet, for example). What are the best practices to handle these issues? Do I need to monitor all onmousemove events and manually keep track of where the cursor was last and fire the appropriate onmouseout event myself?

I created my first app, in the settings I set up the domain URL, canvas URL, etc... when I load the app via apps.facebook.com/my_app_name the app is working, but also when I visit the page via the canvas URL I configured. Is there any way to only allow access to the app only when loaded inside the Facebook chrome? Also, in the app that I made are some links, buttons, etc. and when you hover over them with the mouse you can see my own domain in the status bar below. Is there a way to change that?

  Hey folks, Touch devices are on the rise. More and more website developers try to optimize their pages for those devices. Until recently the most common solution was to build a mobile version for the website. But with tablets this will most likely change to adjusting the original pages to be touch compatible. One big issue I encountered are tooltips. There are some websites and web applications relying heavily on storing important informations in some kind of tooltip triggered by hovering the mouse arrow over some interface element - which does not exist on touch devices. So what do you think is a good universal way to adopt these pages without redesigning the site from scratch? Does this universal way even exist? My first idea was a tiny touchable question mark but this would hardly be big enough for a finger.

For example, I can wire onMouseDown to the mouse down event, the issue is that Visual Studio does not display this in the Intellisense. I'm trying something such as: obj.onmousedown = mousestatus; Based on a book I'm reading, the code is valid (at least it works) therefore I see no reason why Intellisense is not picking it up. I've tried this on both a standalone Javascript file, as well as an MVC project to no luck. Is there anything I'm doing wrong - or is there a way to resolve this?

  I have an HTML select list which, when an item is selected, must show different information beneath it. The onclick or JQuery change events are triggered when a select list item is selected by being clicked on (mouse), but not when the user uses key presses (keyboard).
