    Everyone, every blog is talking about HTML 5 and giving solution to use HTML in all browsers including IE6. Should we leave XHTML 1.0 now and go for HTML 5 and use JavaScript for IE6 support? Does all other desktop/mobile browser except IE6 supports HTML 5 without adding JavaScript? Will every browser render CSS written for HTML 5 elements? What about Screen- readers? What are pros and cons to choose HTML 5 for all new projects?

    Soon I could use a SIP to GSM gateway, because I'll need to make phone calls from Germany to a mobile phone in Czech Republik. Hence, I thought about implementing one. Now, the questions are: Does such a solution already exist (for a reasonable price)? Is it possible to redirect a (voice) stream to a GSM connection with the available Android APIs (SDK or NDK)?   • my layout breaks in IE7 and javascript page reloads make the screen blink

    My layout breaks if I change the window size in IE7/AOL, so I added a simple javascript function that fires on window.onresize, but no matter how I change the location I get problems. It was suggested I post a link and here it is: link text I already use PHP to detect browser and include an IE7-only inline stylesheet (and for mobile browsers), and my page looks nearly identical to the way it does in FF, Opera, Chrome, Safari and IE8, but when I change the window size, some things go wonky, and come back into line if you refresh. Any advice is welcome :)

    With the recent changes in the SDK agreement, I am kinda confused if I'm able to put any type of analytics into my app. I don't want to do anything nefarious, just want to see which functionality of my app is getting used the most. I was looking at Google Analytic's mobile sdk to track the different views, just like page views but I have a feeling it is not allowed anymore. Can someone clear up if Google Analytics are still allowed; if not, are any analytics allowed?

  • Responsive grid, floated elements move underneath one another when min-width is reached

    I'm in the process of creating a responsive site (currently only working on the main content.) I've created two floated divs with percentage based widths. One contains an image which resizes with the browser resizing. The image has a min-width of 100px. Can anyone tell me why when put into a mobile sized width it doesn't drop down?   • ASP.NET Password textbox, has text as characters entered

    When I look at gmail on my mobile web browser the password textbox hashes the characters as I type so I can see the actual input as I type before is hashed with an asterisk. So as I enter it becomes, P -- *a -- **s etc.. How is this done? I presume its javascript? If somone can point me in the right direction that would be great.

    When I use jQuery for a simple click event it only works for links. Is there a way to make it work for spans etc: $("span.clicked").live("click", function(e){alert("span clicked!")}); $("a.clicked").live("click", function(e){alert("link clicked!")}); Example is here: http://ip1n.j-www.com/test/index2.html The SPAN works in Safari but not Mobile Safari (on iPhone or iPad) whereas the A tag works in both.

  • globalize2 with xml/json support

    I'm implementing a distributed application, server with rails and mobile clients in objective c (iPhone). To enable internationalization, I use the rails plugin 'globalize2' by joshmh. However, it turned out that this plugin does not translate attributes when calling to_xml or to_json on an ActiveRecord. Does anyone know of a workaround / patch? Do you have any ideas how to fix this, where to alter globalize2? Using: Rails 2.3.5 globalize2: commit from 2010-01-11
