    I have an amazon S3 web server and a domain name registered in name.com (the name is sam-experiments.com). I am trying to have a static page hosted on the amazon web server to be displayed on http://www.sam-experiments.com On the web server side, my bucket name is 'www.sam-experiments.com', and it links to here: http://www.sam-experiments.com.s3-website-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/ On name.com, I added a new record with the followin characteristics: Record Type: CNAME Record Host: www.sam-experiments.com Record Answer: www.sam-experiments.com.s3.amazonaws.com. (as specified in the documentation here: http://docs.amazonwebservices.com/AmazonS3/latest/dev/VirtualHosting.html#VirtualHostingCustomURLs) TTL: 300 However, nothing gets displayed on www.sam-experiments.com, and I am not able to find what I am doing wrong.     I use both chrome and firefox at the same time. As I always open Gmail first and then use the Reader link in upper left conner of Gmail to open Google Reader, I noticed that chomre hides the Google Reader Link. I can't find it anywhere in Gmail. Why doesn't chrome behave differently?

  • thunderbird - how to have emails erased automatically removed from gmail?

    I understand that by connecting via imap to my gmail account with thunderbird, whatever i do in thunderbird would be reflected in gmail. Yet, if i delete emails in thunderbird, those emails are still present in gmail, even after a while. I set my account preferences in thunderbird under the option "leave messages on the server?" to: "until i delete them". Did i understood imap wrong, or did i set up something wrong? I would really like to be able to clean up my gmail account via a desktop client, such as thunderbird, as it is much more responsive, and i have 4gb of messages to clean up.

  • Why is "www.mysite.com" different from "mysite.com"?

    In any browser if I use www.mysite.com or just mysite.com the web page is correctly retrieved, but I am having trouble with Google Analytics and Facebook App. Facebook: To be able to get Likes, I create the Facebook App needed and set the site URL to http://mysite.com/. Using their tool http://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/ when I test my page using http://mypage.com it works but using http://www.mypage.com fails with the message: Object at URL 'http://www.mysite.com/' of type 'website' is invalid because the domain 'www.mysite.com' is not allowed for the specified application id. Google Analytics: To be able to get traffic statistics, I created a Property and a Profile both with the URL http://www.mypage.com and no statistics were gathered in a week, when I changed the configured URL to http://mypage.com statistics where available a few hours later. What should I do to have statistics and likes for both www.mysite.com and mysite.com ??

  • Is Gmail Being Blocked by my ISP (wait till you read this)?

    This is the strangest thing I have ever encountered. I have a desktop on which I cannot access Gmail and also youtube sign in (I believe since youtube is owned by google they both use the same sign in system). So okay, maybe my ISP is blocking these for some reason or maybe my firewall is, or maybe there is something wrong with my connectivity, right? NO. On other computers that uses the same connection via a wireless router I can access both gmail and youtube sign in just fine. On this computer which doesn't have a wireless card and so I have to connect via Ethernet cable (connected to a USB converter since the Ethernet port doesn't work anymore) I can access all sites and services including things like aol and hotmail. But only when it comes to gmail, do I get complete and utter throttling. I even turned off my AV ad Firewall momentarily and no luck. The gmail ages starts to load and by mid point it just stays there loading and loading and loading... never ends. I tried everything, I reset the modem and router multiple times. I reinstalled my operating system from a vista to a windows 7 hoping a complete reinstall would solve the issue, but no luck. So can anyone for the life of them figure out why this could be? And yes, I am going to call my ISP but not to solve this issue, but to cancel them. I want to upgrade to cabel from DSL anyway. I didn't mention my ISP because I'm not sure if that is within the rules (if it's okay some one let me know and I will). P.S. All this happened one day, before gmail was perfectly accessible in this computer. I can't remember anything special that happened on that day prior to this. The only thing I can think of is, my ISP or Google itself is blocking this computer based on it's mac address, but I don't know if that's even done. Additional info: PC: Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit Connection Type: DSL Connecting Medium: Ethernet cable via USB converter

  • Greasemonkey script for inserting math in gmail

    I wish an easy way to communicate mathematical equations with gmail. There's a javascript script called AsciiMath, which should translate Tex-like equations into standard mathML. I thought that it would be nice to use this script with GM. I thought that before sending the email, this script would convert all the TeX-like equations in your email to MathML. Thus the reader which is using FF (or IE with MathPlayer installed) would be able to easily read those equations. Ideally, I wish to somehow keep the original TeX-like equations in a plain-text message, so that it would be readable by plain text email clients, such as mutt. Obviously the weakest link here is the client software, which most likely doesn't support MathML. Still if my correspondent is using Firefox and some kind of webmail (which is pretty reasonable) - it should work. My question is, is it possible? Did anyone do that? Do you see any technical problems with this approach (gmail filtering the MathML, client not parsing it correctly etc.)? Any smarter ideas?

    Currently I had a situation where I sent an email to xxx@abc.com.tw, but when I receive mail from xxx@abc.com.tw, it showed as xxx@abc.com.tw.com, with extra '.com' behind the email address, this just happen within this week. Before this, I didn't change any setting, currently I am using Outlook 2010. When I checked the email in webmail, it also showed it as xxx@abc.com.tw.com. It seem that it has nothing to do with Outlook. However, I also tried on Thunderbird 16.0.1, but still the problem is the same. Has anyone experienced this before? Is the problem caused by the sender or receiver?   • Does .net calling COM which in turn calls other .net COM object works when using SxS and manifest fi

    I have a .net application calling to a COM component (C++) which in turn calls to another COM object implemented in .NET. This application is using Windows SxS capabilities and does not register any of it's COM components. Not the one written in C++, and not the one written in .net. This first call to the C++ COM component works fine. But when the C++ COM component calls to the .net one, it fails with class not registered. I have tried creating a small C++ app with a manifest file which calls the .net component and it works. It seems that when the flow is .net - COM NATIVE - .NET COM. Then SxS breaks and does not work. When looking at Fusion Logs (assembly loading logs) I see that no one is even attempting to resolve the .NET COM assembly. Is this SxS scenario even supposed to work (I think it does supposed to work)? If yes, then what can I be doing wrong ?

    I am currently studying COM. I found that COM DLL is kind of built upon the traditional DLL infrastructure. When we build COM DLLs, we still rely on the traditional DLL export methods to lead us to the internal COM co-classes. If COM is for component reusing at the binary level, I think the traditional DLL can achieve the same thing. They both expose functions, they are both binary, so what's the point of turning to COM approach? Currently, I have the feeling that the traditional DLL expose methods in a "flat" manner, while the COM DLL expose methods in an "OOP" hierarchy manner. And the OOP manner seems to be a better approach. Could this be the reason why COM prevails? Many thanks.

If commomMessage.BodyHtml.Text contains only Latin characters, there is no problem.
