  I've got some text which needs converting to use HTML entities, but it also contains tags. Here's a sample: <p>Ofcom issued the warning to Global-owned GWR in Bristol – which is required to operate as a "contemporary and chart music and information station" – for operating outside the music </p> The (" and -) need to be converted but the paragraph tags must remain HTML. Using something like htmlentities converts everything, how can I convert everything but the tags?

  Does anyone know if theres a jquery autocomplete library that works similar to the one here: http://www.thetrainline.com (try and select a station to see what i mean) The one on here is a prototype library. Basically all the ones ive found will only match characters if they appear at the beginning of a string, for example, if i typed 'ear' it would not match the word 'hear'. However this one seems to do that. If anyone has any ideas id be very grateful.

• NOAA web service for current weather

  I want to get the current weather conditions from the NOAA. I know they have a SOAP web service that can be used to get weather forecasts and XML files for current weather conditions for each of their weather stations. I could just use the XML file for the weather station nearest to where I want, but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to search for the proper xml file by zipcode. Is there a simple way to get current weather conditions by zipcode from the NOAA?

A man in the United States popped out to his local petrol station to buy a pack of cigarettes - only to find his card charged $23,148,855,308,184,500. That is $23 quadrillion (£14 quadrillion) - many times the US national debt.* In hex it's $523DC2E199EBB4 which doesn't appear terribly interesting at first sight. Anyone have any thoughts about what programming error would have caused this?

• Auth-Type :- Reject in RADIUS users file matches inner tunnel request but sends Access-Accept

  I have WPA2 802.11x EAP authentication setup using FreeRADIUS 2.1.8 on Ubuntu 10.04.4 talking to OpenLDAP, and can successfully authenticate using PEAP/MSCHAPv2, TTLS/MSCHAPv2 and TTLS/PAP (both via the AP and using eapol_test). I am now trying to restrict access to specific SSIDs based on the LDAP groups which the user belongs to. I have configured group membership checking in /etc/freeradius/modules/ldap like so: groupname_attribute = cn groupmembership_filter = "(|(&(objectClass=posixGroup)(memberUid=%{User-Name}))(&(objectClass=posixGroup)(uniquemember=%{User-Name})))" and I have configured extraction of the SSID from Called-Station-Id into Called-Station-SSID based on the Mac Auth wiki page. In /etc/freeradius/eap.conf I have enabled copying attributes from the outer tunnel into the inner tunnel, and usage of the inner tunnel response in the outer tunnel (for both PEAP and TTLS). I had the same behaviour before changing these options however. copy_request_to_tunnel = yes use_tunneled_reply = yes I'm running eapol_test like this to test the setup: eapol_test -c peap-mschapv2.conf -a 172.16.0.16 -s testing123 -N 30:s:01-23-45-67-89-01:Example-EAP with the following peap-mschapv2.conf file: network={ ssid="Example-EAP" key_mgmt=WPA-EAP eap=PEAP identity="mgorven" anonymous_identity="anonymous" password="foobar" phase2="autheap=MSCHAPV2" } With the following in /etc/freeradius/users: DEFAULT Ldap-Group == "employees" and running freeradius-Xx, I can see that the LDAP group retrieval works, and that the SSID is extracted. Debug: [ldap] performing search in dc=example,dc=com, with filter (&(cn=employees)(|(&(objectClass=posixGroup)(memberUid=mgorven))(&(objectClass=posixGroup)(uniquemember=mgorven)))) Debug: rlm_ldap::ldap_groupcmp: User found in group employees ... Now users which are in the employees group are authenticated, but so are users which are not in the employees group. • Static route works on one computer, not the other

  I have been struggling with this for a couple days now, maybe I just need some people with a fresh perspective to figure out what the issue is. Basically I have a bunch of computers that are being routed through a specific gateway in order to access a web page that is hosted internally on a separate subnet. I set up static routes on all of the computers, and they all work... except one. So essentially what I am trying to do here is route all traffic to the 10.zzz.zzz.0 subnet through the 10.xxx.xxx.147 gateway. Everything else should go through the 10.xxx.xxx.230 gateway. This is the intended behavior, and again it is working everywhere but that one station. I noticed that the Active Route metric costs differ between the two stations, but I am new to the routing table and I am not sure how that is impacting the behavior. I hope I have been able to explain the situation clearly. Any help would be much appreciated. I can provide any additional information if needed!

• Master Reset iPhone - How?

  Actually - I had a problem with my iPhone. My iphone battery was down & it was switched off. I plugged in it for charging, but after some time - iPhone had a complete white screen. I don't know what actually had happened. Every thing was working perfectly. means suppose I press lock ( button on top-right side ) it sounds that iphone is locked. when I pressed home button & slide on bottom of the screen - it sounds that iphone is unlocked - but the only problem was - screen remains "white" only. someone told me - it needs master reset. I went to an engineer & he just master reset to iPhone. I am wondering how an iPhone can be master reset ? can you guide me about it ? Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge. Sagar

• File sync over LAN

  At the moment, I'm using Dropbox on my computer and Dropsync on my Android phone (over WiFi) to one-way sync the files (such as photos/app backups) on my phone to the Dropbox servers which are then synced to my computer. I like the features of Dropsync which can be set to sync only when the phone is charging and the WiFi is on. So everytime I charge my phone, i know my files are being backed up. Now I'm wondering if there's a similar app/program combo or something that can do what I'm currently doing but remove the middle-man (Dropbox servers)?

• Displaying ads over WiFi hotspot

  I have recently distributed my WiFi network with highpseed antennas to my area which covers almost 300-400 peoples. I am not charging them anything but i would like to generate some revenue through Advertisements placed on the websites that they visit. Is it possible to display ads from Google (I know i can do redirect the Advertisements, using some cache server or firewall) . Its just like a free vpn but i would like to have my advertisements above the websites they visit so i can take out the cost for the WiFi that i offer. Any suggestions would be great!

• Battery management of a Macbook

  I bought a Macbook Pro last week. I mostly use (and plan to use) it like a desktop with an external monitor. I use the system at least 15 hours a day. Now using the coconut battery application, I figured out that the capacity has the current capacity has reduced to 98% of the design capacity. I was wondering what is the best way to manage battery. Should it be always either charging or discharging Should it be plugged in all time. I barely get 2 hours and 30 minutes on battery. Is that normal? I run XCode, VMWare Fusion (for Visual Studio), Mail app, Chrome (5-10 tabs) and Itunes (mp3). The brightness is 60% on battery. I already did the calibration.

• USB 3.0 not functioning fully

  After installing GNU/Linux today onto my Lenovo Y570 laptop, I ran into an issue quickly - the USB 3.0 support. 2/3 of my USB ports are 3.0 so I kind of need them. The ports are powered at the very least - my phone is charging from one, however, plugging in external drives, USB drives, or even a mouse gives no response. The drives spin up, etc, but they do nothing more than that. So there is power, but no information flowing to them. What am I missing here? What can I try to enable to make things work?

• Windows Server 2003 Standby/Sleep Results in Cold Boot when Resuming

  I'm running Windows Server 2003 sp2 on a Dell Inspiron e1705. There has never been a problem going to standby/sleep mode (by closing the laptop lid, or from the Start menu), and then resuming later. Today I did a Windows Update to install the latest patches and fixes. I don't know if there is a correlation, but now when I resume from standby/sleep mode, the machine does a cold boot. The AC adapter is connected. The battery is 2 months old, and all its LEDs light up when pressing its test button. The Power Management shows it at "99% (charging)" all the time. There is nothing suspicious in any of the event logs. Any ideas?
