    One of the unusual things about IPS is its "facet" feature. For example, if you're a developer using the foo library, you don't install a libfoo-dev package to get the header files. Intead, you install the libfoo package, and your facet.devel setting controls whether you get header files. I was reminded of this recently when I tried to look at some documentation for Emacs Org mode. I was surprised when Emacs's Info browser said it couldn't find the top-level Info directory. However, when the height of the document is the same or less than the window the method above will not work because scrollTop() will always be equal to 0. This becomes a problem if the DOM is updated and the height of the document grows beyond the height of the window after the code runs. Also, I generally don't wait until document.ready to set up my javascript handlers (this generally works). I could append a tall div to the body temporarily to force the method above to work BUT that would required the document to be ready in IE (you can't add a node to the body element before the tag is closed). For more reading on the document.ready "anti-pattern" topic read this. So, I'd love to find a solution that finds the scrollable element even when the document is short. Any ideas?

  • Need AngularJS grid resizing directive to resize "thumbnail" that contains no image

I need all of the grid elements to have the same size so they stack properly. I created an angularJs directive that auto resizes the grid element when placed in said grid element. I have 2 directives that do this for me Directive 1: onload Directive 2: imageonload Directive 2 works. If the grid element uses an image, after the image loads then the directive triggers an event that sends the grid elements height to all other grid elements. If that height sent out via the event is greater than that of the grid element which is listening to the event then that listening grid element changes it's height to be the greater height. This way the largest height becomes the height for all the grid elements. Directive 1 does not work. This one is placed on the outer most grid elements html element, and is triggered when the element loads. The problem is that when the element loads and the onload directive is called AngularJS has not yet filled out the data in said grid element. The outcome is that the real height after AngularJS data binds is not broadcast as an event. My only solution I have thought of (but haven't tried) is to add an image url to an image that exists but doesn't have any data in it, and place that in the grid element (the one that didn't have any images before placing the blank one in). I could then call imageonload instead of onload and I pretty sure the angularjs data binding will have taken place by then. the problem is that that is pretty hacky. I would rather be able to have not an image in the grid element, and be able to call my custom onload directive and have the onload directive calculate the height AFTER angularJS data binds to all of the data binding variables in the grid element. We have to have this so the directive knows which html element to set the new height on. also I use the "title" attribute to set which grid this grid resizing is for (that way you can use the directive multiple times on the same page for different grids and not have the events for the wrong grid triggered). Does anyone know how I can get the "onload" directive to get called AFTER angularJS binds to the grid element? Just for completeness here are 2 images (almost looks like just 1), the second is a grid that contains grid elements that have images and use the "imageonload" directive and the first is a grid that contains grid elements that do not use images and only uses the "onload" directive.

  • IIS 7 (Windows Server 2008) no entrega javascript ni css

    Hace algunos días, jugando con las configuraciones del IIS, revolvíamos las opciones de compresión de contenidos. La intención era habilitar gzip para el contenido estático pero la cosa salió tan mal que el portal, en vez de reducir su tamaño por los contenidos comprimidos, lo "redujo" porque el servidor dejó de enviar los archivos javascript y las hojas de estilo al navegador. Después de estar buscando como hora y media, resultó que la explicación y la solución eran bastante sencillas (y ni siquiera las encontramos nosotros): Al estar cambiando las opciones de compresión de contenidos estáticos del IIS, se crearon unos archivos de configuración (web.config's) tanto en la carpeta de los archivos javascript como en la de las hojas de estilo, que es una estructura que el propio IIS no reconocía y dejaba la aplicación 'cortada', dejando fuera estas carpetas. Eliminar ambos archivos de configuración bastó para volver a visualizar el portal como se debía.. de la compresión, creo que ya ni seguimos buscando.

    Las bondades de ODI Pase un buen rato buscando la forma de usar la función SUM en ODI, encontré que se puede modificar el KM para agregar la función "GROUP by" y agregar una función jython en el atributo destino, pero esa solución es muy "DURA" ya que si agregamos en el futuro un nuevo atributo, tendríamos que cambiar nuevamente el KM.  Pues bien la solución es bastante más fácil, resulta que podemos agregar la función SUM, MIN, MAX, etcétera a cualquier atributo numérico y ODI automáticamente agregará la función GROUP by con el resto de los atributos. Por ejemplo. La tabla destino tiene los siguientes atributos y asignaciones (mapeos en spanglish): T1.Att1 = T2.Att1 T1.Att2 = T2.Att2 T1.Att3 = SUM(T2.Att3)  ODI crea este Quey: Select T2.Att1, T2.Att2, SUM(Att3) from Table2 T2 group by T2.Att1, T2.Att2 Listo Nada más sencillo.

La verdad fue un evento muy bueno, donde la plataforma de presentación fue en un ambiente amigable. Realmente me sentí muy satisfecho por la cantidad de asistentes y por el tema compartido. En lo personal mi presentación estuvo orientada a brindar la forma de desarrollar con Visual Studio y .net aplicaciones para poderlas integrar dentro del CMS Umbraco.   • No me arranca ubuntu 12.04

    Buenos Dias, Tengo un Notebook Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU N270 1.60GHz Version de la BIOS Intel V1585, tenia un sistema operativo de windows xp e intente instalar ubunto 12.04 por medio de live USB debido a que no tengo la adaptación de CD segui todos los pasos y le di instalar completamente formateando el sistema anterior, terminando la instalacion me salio un problema que no encontraba el sistema de arranque o algo asi el hecho es que me salia algo de SDA donde aparecia el modelo del HDD y como es Hitachi HTS543212L9A300 le di en esa y le di finalizar, pero al reiniciar cuando debe iniciar el sistema operativo se queda en negro y no carga nada =S he intentado volver a arrancar la usb pero no me deja hacer nada se me traba =S. soy principiante en este sistema operativo y quiera saber que solución me pueden decir para sacarme de este embrollo. tampoco me sale nada despues de usar ctrl+alt+F1 =S...   • How can I turn a string of text into a BigInteger representation for use in an El Gamal cryptosystem

    I'm playing with the El Gamal cryptosystem, and my goal is to be able to encipher and decipher long sequences of text. I have come up with a method that works for short sequences, but does not work for long sequences, and I cannot figure out why. El Gamal requires the plaintext to be an integer. I have turned my string into a byte[] using the .getBytes() method for Strings, and then created a BigInteger out of the byte[]. After encryption/decryption, I turn the BigInteger into a byte[] using the .toByteArray() method for BigIntegers, and then create a new String object from the byte[]. This works perfectly when i call ElGamalEncipher with strings up to 129 characters. With 130 or more characters, the output produced is garbled. Can someone suggest how to solve this issue? Is this an issue with my method of turning the string into a BigInteger? If so, is there a better way to turn my string of text into a BigInteger and back?   • Is there any way to evaluate (expand-file-name) in .dir-locals.el?

    I'm trying to move all my compilation config (compilation-command and compilation-directory to be exact) to .dir-locals.el file at the top of my project. It is working fine except that I can't find the way to use expand-file-name there and without it I have to use absolute path, which is not really convenient. So, is there a way (or a dirty hack) to make local directory variables to evaluate values before assigning?

  • Can't set element ID in JavaScript, it's always undefined

    Hi, I want to have a function that generates ID's on the fly for a given jquery object, if it doesn't have one already. These ID's should then be used in future requests. I came up with the code below, but it doesn't work. The ID's are never set. The commented out alert statement below always return undefined. I always pass code like $(this) or $(options.el) as a parameter to substitute 'el'. Initially, the elements do not have explicitly ID set in HTML.     Does anyone know of a jQuery plugin that has 'helpers' or extensions like those found in the YAHOO.lang namespace? I have in mind functions such as: isNull isDefined isString isFunction I would also appreciate the same kind of thing for strings and arrays, such as Contains, StartsWith (I know these are easy to write, I'm just looking for a plugin that encompasses them all). It's not in the YAHOO.lang namespace but also form related extensions- determining a radiobox's value (from the one checked), a form element's type in a friendly name. Specifically a plugin with fluent API rather than selector based such as $("input[@type=radio][@checked]") Again I'm aware they're easy to implement but I don't want to reinvent the wheel.
