    Hi, Where are the DefaultCredentials stored/accessed from for a WinForms v3.5 app? That is if I am using the settings for defaultProxy for my Winforms v3.5 application, and set a proxy server address here, exactly where does/can the username/password come from? Or in other words where does the framework source the "default credentials" for a winforms application running on the client PC? <defaultProxy enabled="true|false" useDefaultCredentials="true|false" <bypasslist> … </bypasslist> <proxy> … </proxy> <module> … </module> /> Background - apparently ClickOnce can use this for a client side application, however I'm trying to work out where click once would get this defaultCredential from, for a user who is running the clickonce install for my winforms application.

    Hi I would really like to give some sortable goodness to the myriad old tables I have created. A little work has a proof of concept behaving ok. My one sticking point is that the placeholder does not work at all in IE 7 when using item:TR . It works OK in FF. I can make an perform correctly.     How to disable the startup animation in OFC2? Since I started using the dz build, the on-show animation is on by default, which sucks quite a lot. Neither of these work: graph.animate=false graph.on_show=false Also, dz's build implements the tooltip hover support poorly - the tooltip continues to hover even when the cursor is on another flash object. Has anyone overcome these problems?

In other words if you start using EF is it really just a way to easily get data in/out of the database without providing an additional caching layer like DataSet/DataTables did where you have an in-memory representation (on-line/off-line) and which at some point you could say to "persist all changes to database"

  • Why does a user have to enter "Profile" data to enter data into other tables?

    EDIT It appears the user has to enter some data for his profile, otherwise I get this error below. I guess if there is no profile data, the user can not continue to enter data in other tables by default? I do not want to make entering user profile data a requirement to use the rest of the sites functionality, how can I get around this? Currently I have been testing everything with the same user and everything has been working fine. However, when I created a new user for the very first time and tried to enter data into my custom table, I get the following error. The INSERT statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "FK_UserData_aspnet_Profile". The conflict occurred in database "C:\ISTATE\APP_DATA\ASPNETDB.MDF", table "dbo.aspnet_Profile", column 'UserId'. The statement has been terminated. Not sure why I am getting this error. I have the user controls set up in ASP.NET 3.5 however all I am using is my own table or at least that I am aware of. I have a custom UserData table that includes the columns: id, UserProfileID, CL, LL, SL, DateTime (id is the auto incremented int) The intent is that all users will add their data in this table and as I mentioned above it has been working fine for my original first user I created. However, when i created a new user I am getting this problem.     Hi, Question - Is it possible to proxy a HTTPS request using HttpListener & HttpWebRequest? (or is it not possbile due to the encryption?) I have got a .NET proxy working by using HttpListener & HttpWebRequest using the approach here. I'm trying to extend this at the moment to listen for HTTPS too (refer this question) however I'm wondering if I'm trying to tackle something that is not possible...That is if this code works by listening for the HTTPS request (using HttpListener) and then copying headers & content across to a new HttpWebRequest, is this flawed as it may not be able to decrypt the request to get the content? But then normal proxy servers obviously can proxy HTTPS, so I guess perhaps it will work because it will just copy across the encrypted content?

    I am trying to bind a combo box to a list of objects, and it works great, besides the selected value, am I missing somethign? <ComboBox ItemsSource="{Binding OrderInfoVm.AllCountries}" SelectedValuePath="country_code" DisplayMemberPath="country_name" SelectedValue="{Binding OrderInfoVm.BillingCountry}" /> Basically I want to bind value to country codes and set the selected value to the country code bound to OrderInfoVm.BillingCountry (which implements INotifyPropertyChanged) Initially when the control loads selected value is empty, but on click BillingCountry is populated. Selected value does not seem to change. How can I remedy that?

    Hi everyone, I have a strange jquery problem with multiple event handlers. What I'm trying to achieve is this: User selects some text on the page If the selection is not empty - show a context menu If user clicks somewhere else - the context menu should disappear I'm having troubles with the above i.e. sometimes the context menu appears correctly, sometimes it appears and disappears straight after user makes a selection. Please help. See the relevant parts of my code below.   • UIImagePickerController image editing not working

    I am having a problem with implementing UIImagePickerController. When the controller loads, it displays modally, and allows the user to select the image. Good so far. Yet, then when it moves to the editing phase, it often displays somewhat corrupted view (the image cropping box is halfway off the top of the screen) and their is no image. It does not crash, but all UI interaction is blocked. The strange part is that this only happens when I compile with Release settings. Under debug compile settings, the image editing works fine! I have tried checking for memory warnings during this time, but none are showing up. Here is the code calling the image picker controller for reference. When I use the camera (the first method), it always works fine. It is just when selecting images from the Library (called from the second method below) does it fail as described above.   • Any hosted versions of jQuery that have the 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *' header set?

    I have been working with jQuery recently and ran into a problem where I couldn't include it in a userscript because xmlhttpRequest uses the same origin policy. After further testing I found that most browsers also support the Cross-Origin Resource Sharing access control defined by W3C as a workaround for issues with same origin policy. I tested this by hosting the jQuery script on a local web server that included the Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * http header, which allowed the script to be downloaded using xmlhttpRequest so that it could be included in my userscript. I'd like to use a hosted version of jQuery when releasing the script, but so far testing with tools like http://www.seoconsultants.com/tools/headers I have not found any sites that allow cross-origin access to the jQuery script. Turns out, when I call -[NSFileManager attributesOfItemAtPath:error:], NSFileCreationDate isn't one of the provided attributes. Is there no way to discover a file's creation date? Thanks.

  • Proper way to implement IXmlSerializable?

    Once a programmer decides to implement IXmlSerializable, what are the rules and best practices for implementing it? I've heard that GetSchema() should return null and ReadXml should move to the next element before returning. Are these true? And what about WriteXml: should it write a root element for the object or is it assumed that the root is already written? How should child objects be treated and written.   • MS SQL Bridge Table Constraints

    Greetings - I have a table of Articles and a table of Categories. An Article can be used in many Categories, so I have created a table of ArticleCategories like this: BridgeID int (PK) ArticleID int CategoryID int Now, I want to create constraints/relationships such that the ArticleID-CategoryID combinations are unique AND that the IDs must exist in the respective primary key tables (Articles and Categories). I have tried using both VS2008 Server Explorer and Enterprise Manager (SQL-2005) to create the FK relationships, but the results always prevent Duplicate ArticleIDs in the bridge table, even though the CategoryID is different. I am pretty sure I am doing something obviously wrong, but I appear to have a mental block at this point. Can anyone tell me please how should this be done? Greaty appreciated!

  • Modulo operator in Objective-C returns the wrong result

    I'm a little freaked out by the results I'm getting when I do modulo arithmetic in Objective-C. -1 % 3 is coming out to be -1, which isn't the right answer: according to my understanding, it should be 2. -2 % 3 is coming out to -2, which also isn't right: it should be 1. Is there another method I should be using besides the % operator to get the correct result?

  • Rails: keeping DRY with ActiveRecord models that share similar complex attributes

    This seems like it should have a straightforward answer, but after much time on Google and SO I can't find it. It might be a case of missing the right keywords. In my RoR application I have several models that share a specific kind of string attribute that has special validation and other functionality. The closest similar example I can think of is a string that represents a URL. This leads to a lot of duplication in the models (and even more duplication in the unit tests), but I'm not sure how to make it more DRY. I can think of several possible directions... create a plugin along the lines of the "validates_url_format_of" plugin, but that would only make the validations DRY give this special string its own model, but this seems like a very heavy solution create a ruby class for this special string, but how do I get ActiveRecord to associate this class with the model attribute that is a string in the db Number 3 seems the most reasonable, but I can't figure out how to extend ActiveRecord to handle anything other than the base data types. Any pointers? Finally, if there is a way to do this, where in the folder hierarchy would you put the new class that is not a model? Many thanks.

    I am creating a simple green screen app with Python 2.7.4 but am getting quite slow results. I am currently using PIL 1.1.7 to load and iterate the images and saw huge speed-ups changing from the old getpixel() to the newer load() and pixel access object indexing. However the following loop still takes around 2.5 seconds to run for an image of around 720p resolution: def colorclose(Cb_p, Cr_p, Cb_key, Cr_key, tola, tolb): temp = math.sqrt((Cb_key-Cb_p)**2+(Cr_key-Cr_p)**2) if temp < tola: return 0.0 else: if temp < tolb: return (temp-tola)/(tolb-tola) else: return 1.0 .... for x in range(width): for y in range(height): Y, cb, cr = fg_cbcr_list[x, y] mask = colorclose(cb, cr, cb_key, cr_key, tola, tolb) mask = 1 - mask bgr, bgg, bgb = bg_list[x,y] fgr, fgg, fgb = fg_list[x,y] pixels[x,y] = ( (int)(fgr - mask*key_color[0] + mask*bgr), (int)(fgg - mask*key_color[1] + mask*bgg), (int)(fgb - mask*key_color[2] + mask*bgb)) Am I doing anything hugely inefficient here which makes it run so slow? I have seen similar, simpler examples where the loop is replaced by a boolean matrix for instance, but for this case I can't see a way to replace the loop. The pixels[x,y] assignment seems to take the most amount of time but not knowing Python very well I am unsure of a more efficient way to do this. Any help would be appreciated.
