[closed] 17 answers I need to create a naming scheme for my servers, but I am having a hard time come by a good category list to go by. I want something with an abundance of names to use, so as I scale my server count I won't run out. Some that I have heard being used is greek philosophers (plato) planet names (saturn, mercury, venus, mars) Mario Characters (mario, luigi, yoshi, toad) I feel like the above categories are kind of limited. What are some good naming scheme that you use?

  • how to disable all system sounds - permanently

    I prefer the sound scheme of Windows 7 HP to be set to "No Sounds" ALL the time. The problem is, when I switch themes, the themes switch sound schemes also. I know I can go in and disable/change to "No Sounds" every time by hand, but is there a way to turn it off and keep it off, regardless of the theme? Thanks!

    I've applied the "brushed" theme (https://tools.google.com/chrome/intl/en/themes/theme%5Fbrushed.html) to my main google chrome browser windows without any problem. However none of the "application mode" shortcuts I created pick up this theme. For example, running chrome as follows does not pick up the "brushed" theme: chrome.exe --app=gmail.com I want to be able to apply themes to google chrome in application mode.

  • .Net ListView and System's Icon Size

    I have a ListView using the LargeIcon View mode with some 64x64 thumbnails. The problem is that the padding between ListViewItems is somehow based on the system's Icon size value (Display Properties Appearance Advanced Icon). The default for XP seems to be 32 and the ListView and its thumbnails look fine, but with higher Icon sizes, the items are spaced out horrendously. Is there any way to override this behavior and force it to use the same spacing?

    You know what I'm talking about: for example when you get multiple new emails the notification icon in the status bar is augmented with a little red circle that contains number of unread mails. Twitroid has the same icon. Any idea how it's done? I don't think (or so I hope) there are 10000 similar icons. Is this red circle generated and overlaid the notification icon? If so - any code snippets will be much appreciated.

    Hello, I have developed an application which allows the user to switch between themes. I'm doing this by including the xaml file as a resource in my project and using the following code: MainTheme.ThemeUri = new Uri("SilverlightApplication1;component/Themes/[ThemeName]/Theme.xaml", UriKind.Relative); This worked well, untill I found these themes: http://timheuer.com/blog/archive/2010/05/17/silverlight-4-tools-released-and-new-application-templates.aspx The difference is that these themes consist of multiple files. So I made a Theme.xaml file that only includes MergedDictionaries so I could still use the code above. This is the Theme.xaml file for the Cosmopolitan theme. <ResourceDictionary xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"> <ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> <ResourceDictionary Source="CoreStyles.xaml"/> <ResourceDictionary Source="SDKStyles.xaml"/> <ResourceDictionary Source="Styles.xaml"/> <ResourceDictionary Source="ToolkitStyles.xaml"/> </ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> </ResourceDictionary> However, when I run the c# code above I get the following exception: System.Windows.Markup.XamlParseException: Failed to assign to property 'System.Windows.ResourceDictionary.Source'.   • JLabel with separate text and icon background colours

    Hey, I have a simple Jlabel element with text and icon setting the background changes the full label colour. I want to be able to only render the background colour on the text section of the label, ie - to have separate backgrounds/foregrounds for the icon and text. Selecting/deselecting the label will flip the colour behind the icon and text. Is this possible to do this by just extending JLabel, and if so which methods should i be looking to customise? My alternative idea is to create a panel with two separate label elements, one with an icon the other with text. It seems a bit messy, and before i start i'm wondering is there a smarter way of achieving this with Swing.

    The following code works when running the NetBeans IDE. this.getFrame().setIconImage(Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getImage("PlagiaLyzerIcon.png")); However, once it was built into Jar file, the icon was gone. Anyone has idea what's the problem? I realized I've to put the icon image on the root directory, however, after compiling into JAR, the icon gone. Thanks for any help..

  • mx:Tree not dispatching "itemClick" event when click on icon

    I have a flex tree that worked perfectly fine when we set the defaultLeafIcon={null} and the folderClosedIcon and folderOpenIcon to {null}. We decided to put the icons back in and took out the nulls. Now they show up fine, but if you click on the icon instead of the label or the rest of the row, it seems to change the selected item, shows the highlight around the new item, but doesn't dispatch the ItemClick event. This makes it really hard to know that the tree's selected item has changed! The weird part is that once you have clicked on the icon once and it looked like the selectedItem changed (or at least it applied that style), if you click the same icon again, it will actually fire the itemClick event. if you click any other icon, it does the same thing again, switching the selectedItem and styling that row, but not firing the itemClick event. Any ideas? Thanks. (This is in flex 4 btw)
