  I have an issue with IIS7 url rewrite module, when I add following rule I get an 404 error on all pages. <rule name="Remove .aspx" stopProcessing="true"> <match url="(.+)\.aspx" /> <action type="Redirect" redirectType="Permanent" url="{R:1}" /> All I want to do to remove all files extensions. • Alt + # shorcut, how to remove?

  Being a World of Warcraft player, I use keyboard combinations to cast spells and "alt + #" is one of the combination, # being the key just before the 1 2 3 4 [...], under "escape" and on top of "tab" (I have a "French(canada)" keyboard). I've searched in the keyboard options, the shorcuts parts and I found nothing, I even tried to assign it randomly, hopping it'll overwrite the real shorcut but it didn't. When I press "alt + #" I have a "alt + tab" like but just for one type of window. For exemple it'll make me navigate through many instances of folder, but it won't switch to another application. It just cycle through the open windows of one application. Help me get rid of this annoying shorcut please ! Thanks in advance.

  I visited japan.indymedia.org and firefox gave me the "Invalid certificate" screen. I added an exception, but did not click "Store this exception permanently." But now firefox still happily visits the same site without giving any warnings, even after a restart of the browser. I tried going to the Options-Advanced-Encryption-View Certificates-Servers to remove the certificate but I did not find it there. How to remove this exception and make firefox give me the warning when visiting the site?

  Unity is misbehaving after installing GLX Dock - HUD does not open with GLX Dock turned off and there are ugly shadows in the panel,three control buttons (close,minimise,maximise) and "Ubuntu Desktop" label when there are no apps running.I have to click the top panel to get the super key to open the dash. I have tried unity --reset and unity --replace commands ,but they do not help. Can I un-install and re-install Unity?

  I have an old box and want to switch to Ubuntu 12.04. It has two hard drives. The first is a 40 gig disk that runs Windows XP; the other is 80 gigs partitioned into 40, 20, and 20 gigs. I am prepared to abandon Windows altogether and everything stored on the drives. So my question is, do I just install from CD/DVD onto the C drive? Or onto one of the partitions in the other disk first and then uninstall Windows? What will happen to the partitions on the second disk, which I don't particularly see a need for? Thanks in advance for any advice.

  I installed Ubuntu using Wubi installer, but I couldnt boot to it. So I uninstalled it on the Control Panel. Then I tried the full installation wherein it boots to the Ubuntu environment. After installing Ubuntu there, I couldnt boot to my Windows 7 anymore! So in an attempt to salvage the whole thing, I inserted the Ubuntu CD again and chose Erase Ubuntu and Reinstall. (I was wondering, why wasn't there an option to just "Erase Ubuntu"?) I did that though, and I got my Windows 7 back. But upon checking my drives via the "Create your own partition scheme" (not sure if it's the exact words) I saw that one of my partitions still has Ubuntu on it, and there's no way I can delete it if I don't overwrite another Ubuntu! I can't access that partition on windows 7 either! Need help!

  I just format my root partition (and keep my Home partition), and reinstalled Ubuntu 10.10. But the theme of macbuntu is still there. If I try to run it's "uninstall.sh" even with "--force" I get "The script is not able to determine what version is currently installed" (the version is 10.10). By the way, I also deleted ".macbuntu" from my Home directory, but I'm still not able to uninstall it. Any hint?

  I have a case where I am using the ArrayList to keep a list of items that are keyed by their position in the list. Other objects reference the ArrayList items by their position. If I delete one of the items from the list, I don't want the list to shrink because that would invalidate all other references to items in the list (e.g. item 2 is now in position 1). My solution to the shrinking array list problem is to null the position in the arraylist so that the list will not shrink. I am curious whether this will free the memory formerly held by the item at that position. If there is a better way to accomplish this requirement, I would like to know about it.

  I am using Perl running in user space (not installed via root) and installing modules via the command-line cpan. I would like to know if there is a simple way to remove a module without having to do a lot of work deleting individual files. I searched for this question on the internet and found some answers, but the answers I've found seem to either discuss using the Perl package manager (specific for Microsoft Windows), otherwise operating-system specific (BSDpan), suggesting using cpanplus (which I've had several bad experiences with), or ended by pointing to a dead link as follows: http://www.cpan.org/misc/cpan-faq.html#How_delete_Perl_modules. My question is specifically whether there is a clean way to remove a module installed via cpan.

  I would like to remove selected commits from a linear commit tree, so that the commits do not show in the commit log. My commit tree looks something like: R--A--B--C--D--E--HEAD I would like to remove the B and C commits. So that they do not show in the commit log, but changes from A to D should be preserved. Maybe by introducing a single commit, so that B and C become BC and the tree looks like. R--A--BC--D--E--HEAD Or, ideally, after A comes D directly. D' representing changes from A to B, B to C and C to D. R--A--D'--E--HEAD Is this possible? if yes, how? Some notes that might be helpful: This is a fairly new project so has no branches as of now, hence no merges as well.   I have a problem with Exchange 2010 which is a nightmare for me. The problem is, that in Exchange management console i have several store databases in database management tab. only one is mounted, because i am using it. the second one is mounted, but it was used on other server before (now that server is dead). that database mounted status is UNKNOWN. The file of that database does not exist, but it still shows there. I can't remove it from management console, because it has mailboxes. i removed all mailboxes and disabled two arbitrary mailboxes. i can't delete it because i still have one arbitrary mailbox left. i can't move it, because it requires connection to dead server. i can't disable it, because i get error that it is the last one in organization. Can somebody help me? Solved it by using this command: Get-Mailbox -Arbitration -Database db1 | Remove-Mailbox -Arbitration -RemoveLastArbitrationMailboxAllowed Now i have another problem. Exchange management console shows public folder from different server which is dead now. That folder was copied here, but it is not needed anymore. Public folder file has been deleted, and records from ADSI edit has been removed too. But i can't remove that folder from management console. i get an error Exchange isn't able to check for public folder replicas for "My Public Folder Database". Anybody can help me with that?

  I have some windows 7 virtual machines in xen that have devices showing up in "safely remove hardware". I don't want users to ever be able to remove/eject any hardware at all. I'm told vmware has a hotplug option. xen doesn't seem to provide this for pci passthrough devices, therefore I'm looking for a reliable solution to prevent users from ejecting devices. This issue is not necessarily related just to virtual machines but seems to be a common problem with devices that get wrongly reported as removable. I'm ideally looking for a way to prevent all devices from appearing or just prevent the safely remove hardware option from ever coming up. I've tried setting device capabilities for specific devices on boot with a script but this for some reason doesn't always seem to work reliably. Is there a way to prevent this icon from appearing in the notification area completely, either by registry key or group policy? I should point out that setting this in group policy to "Administrators" did not seem to work. I added Windows Media Center to my notebook using the free offer in November (side note: the key was emailed to me within 5 minutes, I see many people have been complaining that it takes a few days). Today I decided to add WMC to my PC as well, so I went onto the Microsoft website, same like last time, and I received the email within a few minutes. Once I added WMC, entered the key and the computer rebooted, my activation is now broken: This product key is already being used on another PC. Try a different key or buy a new one. After rereading the product key email, I realised that the WMC key was exactly the same as the one I had received in November for my notebook (I used the same email, i.e. my Microsoft account Outlook email, for both). I didn't think this would be a problem, as on Microsoft's feature pack page it states: ...is limited to five licenses per customer per promotion. So then I decided, I'll just remove WMC from my PC and go back to Windows 8 Pro. So I turned off the WMC feature, PC restarted, activation still broken because my key has been replaced. I then tried to activate it with my original Pro key. The error it gave was that this key cannot be used with this version of Windows, as it is now Windows 8 Pro with Media Center and not Windows 8 Pro anymore. I've searched a bit and it seems the only way to remove it is do a clean install. I tried the Windows 8 Downgrade Helper, which told me I was already running Win 8 Pro when I tried to downgrade, and that I was running Win 8 Pro with Media center when I tried the other option.
