    Hi, I have several machines (both virtual and physical) in my internal network at home. Currently I have to connect via 1P addresses. The one main machine I connect with to all the other machines is running Windows Vista. Is there a way I can have some sort of DNS capability inside my network as well so I can refer to these machines with a name? I think this would be a common problem in most households (running a few computers) and I think there might be some simple solutions out there. This would be something most routers should support out of the box - but why don't they? Can anyone recommend some of these or an easy way to accomplish this?

I'm not very popular with hosting, but I have a special situation: I live in Tunisia, I can buy a domain name with .tn extention, but the problem is that: 1- The domain could not be pointed to a server outside Tunisia 2- All servers in Tunisia are bad, no one provides really reliable hosting so, I want to use the .tn domain with a basic hosting in Tunisia, and Make other db queries and rich media on another remote server outside Tunisia. How to do it? Is there better alternatives? All suggestions are welcome :) Thank you.

In the outbound SMTP server traffic, I see the internal machine name (exchange.domain.local), and the internal ip address (10.10.10.55). The question is, how do you remove this header from exchange, or change it to have the external machine name/ip addresses. I am not talking about the HELO / EHLO handshake as part of the protocol. Please help.

    This may be a horribly obvious question, but I'm learning and just need someone to confirm it for me. I putting together a private social network that needs to email their members (through the social network software, Elgg) regularly. I'm hosting it on a shared HostGator plan (because they won't receive much traffic) and they'll email 10-1000 emails a few times a week. HostGator restricts you to 500 per hour. I'm also worried about deliverability. I've been searching up and down about how to throttle the emails so it will all send reliably... but then I came across the idea of an outside SMTP relay service. Would using an SMTP service resolve this issue? If so, any opinions on quality SMTP services?

  • Magento My Account Layout XML Problem

    Hi there, I'm having issues getting the customer.xml layout file to work properly for the customer's "my account" pages. The navigation links and the previously ordered items that are usually on the left hand side of the page won't show up on the page, but if I change the reference name to "content" in the xml file, it shows up (except it's obviously then on the right hand side). I've checked the template it's referencing (2columns-left.phtml), and the getChildHtml('left') is there in the correct position.   • Problems with inheritance query view and one to many association in entity framework 4

    Hi, I have situation in with I stucked and don't know way out. The problem is in my bigger model, but I have made small example which shows the same problem. I have 4 tables. I called them SuperParent, NamedParent, TypedParent and ParentType. NamedParent and TypedParent derives from superParent. TypedParent has one to many association with ParentType. I describe mapping for entities using queryView. The problem is then I want to get TypedParents and Include ParentType I get the following exception: An error occurred while preparing the command definition.   • Web SMTP Server(foo.com) will not send mail to exchange server which is also(foo.com)

    I think I understand this problem fully, but I do not know how to approach it or where to go in terms of troubleshooting. I've got my one domain http://foo.com that runs a Zen Cart installation that needs to be able to send emails to users(order confirmation, password reset). This works fine to send to any other domain BUT foo.com. I'm running a locally hosted exchange server that is foo.com, and we can send and receive email just fine. If I run tail -f /usr/local/psa/var/log/maillog I recieve this error: Apr 1 10:08:51 foo qmail-local-handlers[25824]: Handlers Filter before-local for qmail started ... My question is, how can I get the foo.com(web) SMTP service to handle emails meant for my exchange server([email protected]) or how do I handle the mail that needs to be sent to our exchange server?   • Emails sent from Coldfusion using the same SMTP/Exchange server works from one machine but fails for another

    First, apologies if this question is too vague or has too little information to really be answerable. I am not normally working with these issues, and I don't have full access to the environment. However, the hosting provider seems to have a hard time tracking down the issue, so I am hoping that someone can at least provide me with some qualified guesses about the most likely problem. Here goes: A client I work for has a hosted IT environment, based on virtual machines running Windows 2008 R2 Standard. Our website, based on Coldfusion 9 was recently migrated from one virtual machine to another, and though Coldfusion is configured in the exact same way, using the same SMTP server, i.e. the client's Exchange server hosted in the same environment and in the same AD as both web servers, sending emails to external recipients is no longer working. It is still working fine when testing from the old machine. This is what I've learnt so far (all emails are sent using a valid from-address on the client's domain): Emails sent to other recipients on the same domain are delivered without any problem. Emails sent to external recipients on other domains are never delivered. When sending emails to both internal and external recipients, no emails are delivered. When receiving one of these emails to an internal address, the sender is now indicated as "[email protected]", while when sent from the old machine, it used to say just "sender". This seems to me that it could hint that the Exchange machine "recognizes" the old web server while it is a stranger to the new. In Coldfusion's mail log, all messages appear to be successfully delivered to the SMTP server. Any ideas what settings to look at, what log entries to search for or how to compare the old web server with the new one will be highly appreciated.

  • Problem sending mail with simple .net application. Server refusal error.

    I have a very simple .net application for testing SMTP on .net. But i am receiving this weird error. "System.Net.Mail.SmtpException: Failure sending mail. --- System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server --- System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it" SMTP server is remote and doesn't need any kind of authentication so i don't need credentials. But i can send mails from this computer with outlook using same smtp server and same smtp settings without any problem. Any ideas? It will be appreciated so much.   • jQuery Validation using the class instead of the name value

    Hi, I'd like to validate a form using the jquery validate plugin, but I'm unable to use the 'name' value within the html - as this is a field also used by the server app. Specifically, I need to limit the number of checkboxes checked from a group. (Maximum of 3.) All of the examples I have seen, use the name attribute of each element.     I'm trying to get postscreen work. I've followed the man page and it's already running correctly for smtp. But it I want to use it for smtps as well (adding the same line as smtp in master.cf but with smtps) i receive failure messages in syslog like: postfix/postscreen[8851]: fatal: btree:/var/lib/postfix/postscreen_cache: unable to get exclusive lock: Resource temporarily unavailable Some say that postscreen can only run once; that's ok.     I'm having a frustrating problem with one of our clients who is running an exchange SMTP server. I have an emailing component that is written in .net and I've specifically used Mono DLL's to ensure that the email component sends the ELO and QUIT command for each message it sends. Each mail I send will never exceed 10MB's including attachments, which is lower than the session size value set in the clients exchange configuration. Still the problem persists. Any ideas where to look?

    Seven days ago I ordered a domain name with a local (Belgian) domain name agent. I have already webspace at a shared host in the US, so I filled in their nameservers on the form. I immediately payed with my credit card. Three days ago I received an e-mail from the domain name agent, saying that my domain name was registered with the external nameservers I provided, and that the site would be visible within 24 hours. However, 72 hours after that mail I still can't see my domain name. A whois search shows indeed that my domain is registered on my name,but a ping to the domain returns unknown host and a traceroute gives the similar Name or service not known. What can have gone wrong, and which (Linux) commands can I use to find out. Or should I just be patient and will the domain name eventually be propagated?

    I have a DNS server (mega.dude - 123.123.123.123) running bind 9.4. When I: dig mega.dude I get no answer section. I have nameserver 123.123.123.123 in /etc/resolv.conf Here is my zone file: $TTL 1W @ IN SOA mega.dude. names.mega.dude. ( 2009081502 ; serial 3H ; refresh 15M ; retry 1W ; expiry 1D ) ; minimum NS ns1 NS ns2 MX 10 mail.mega.dude. A 123.123.123.123 @ A 123.123.123.123 ns1 A 123.123.123.123 ns2 A 123.123.123.123 www CNAME @ mail A 123.123.123.123 It didn't used to look like this. I read that it's evil to have an mx record pointing to a CNAME. So I changed that. Then I thought maybe that was also the case for NS. So I changed those too. Still no good. The ports are open. I can't figure it out. Oh by the way, all the other zones return fine. But not the servers own domain. So I know I'm doing something stupid. Thanks for your help all!

  • Set Up Of Common Name Of SSL Certificate To Protect Plesk Panel

    A PCI Compliance scanner is balking that the self signed SSL certificate protecting secure access to Plesk Panel contains a name mismatch between the location of the Plesk Panel and the name on the certificate, namely the self-signed cert's name is "Parallels" and the domain to reach Plesk is 'ip address:8443'. So I figured I would go ahead and get a free SSL certificate to try to fiddle with this error. But when I generated the certificate I used my server domain name as the site name when I generated the certificate. So if I visit 'domain name:8443' all is fine, no ssl warning. But if I visit 'ip address:8443' (which I believe is what the scanner does) I get the certificate name mismatch error, Digicert's ssl checker says that the certificate name should be the ip address. Can I even generate a certificate whose common name is the ip address? I am tempted to say I should just do what the PCI scanner accepts, but what is really the correct common name to use? Anybody run into this issue before?
