  • Trouble getting started with Spring Roo and GWT

    Hi all, I am trying to get started with SpringRoo and GWT after seeing the keynote.. unfortunately I am stuck at this issue.   • Trouble creating a Java policy server for a simple Flash app

    I'm trying to create a simple Flash chat application for educational purposes, but I'm stuck trying to send a policy file from my Java server to the Flash app (after several hours of googling with little luck). The policy file request reaches the server that sends a harcoded policy xml back to the app, but the Flash app doesn't seem to react to it at all until it gives me a security sandbox error. I'm loading the policy file using the following code in the client: Security.loadPolicyFile("xmlsocket://myhostname:" + PORT); The server recognizes the request as "<policy-file-request/" and responds by sending the following xml string to the client: public static final String POLICY_XML = "<?xml version=\"1.0\"?>" + "<cross-domain-policy>" + "<allow-access-from domain=\"*\" to-ports=\"*\" />" + "</cross-domain-policy>"; The code used to send it looks like this: try { _dataOut.write(PolicyServer.POLICY_XML + (char)0x00); _dataOut.flush(); System.out.println("Policy sent to client: " + PolicyServer.POLICY_XML); } catch (Exception e) { trace(e); } Did I mess something up with the xml or is there something else I might have overlooked?

  • Having trouble passing text from MySQL to a Javascript function using PHP

    So here's the problem. I have data in a MySQL DB as text. The data is inserted via mysql_real_escape_string. I have no problem with the data being displayed to the user. At some point I want to pass this data into a javascript function called foo. // This is a PHP block of code // $someText is text retrieved from the database echo "<img src=someimage.gif onclick=\"foo('{$someText}')\">"; If the data in $someText has line breaks in it like: Line 1 Line 2 Line 3 The javascript breaks because the html output is <img src=someimage.gif onclick="foo('line1 line2 line3')"> So the question is, how can I pass $someText to my javascript foo function while preserving line breaks and carriage returns but not breaking the code? =========================================================================================== After using json like this: echo "<img src=someimage.gif onclick=\"foo($newData)\">"; It is outputting HTML like this: onclick="foo("line 1<br \/>\r\nline 2");"> Which displays the image followed by \r\nline 2");"

  • Having trouble using 'AND' in CONTAINSTABLE SQL SERVER FULL TEXT SEARCH

    I've been using FULL-TEXT for awhile but I cannot seem to get the most relevant results sometimes. If I have an field with something like "An Overview of Pain Medicine 5/12/2006" and a user types "An Overview 5/12/2006" So we create a search like: '"An" AND "Overview" AND "5/12/2006"' - 0 results (bad) '"Overview" AND "5/12/2006"' - 1 result (good) The CONTAINSTABLE portion of my query: FROM ce_Activity A INNER JOIN CONTAINSTABLE(View_Activities,(Searchable), @Search) AS KeyTbl ON A.ActivityID = KeyTbl.[KEY] "Searchable" is a field contains the activity title, and start date(converted to string) in one field so it's all search friendly. Why would this happen?

    I'm working on a simple subtraction problem, but unfortunately it keeps returning NaN Here is the function function subtraction(a, b) { var regexp = /[$][,]/g; a = a.replace(regexp, ""); b - b.replace(regexp, ""); var _a = parseFloat(a); var _b = parseFloat(b); return _a - _b; } And here is how I'm calling it. txtGoodWill.value = subtraction(txtSellingPrice.value, txtBalanceSheet.value); The numbers that get submitted to the function are ONLY Currency (IE: $2,000 or $20, etc) Now I know that I cannot subtract numbers with a $ or a ,, but I can't for the life of me figure out why they are getting evaluated in the equasion.

  • Trouble parsing quotes with SAX parser (javax.xml.parsers.SAXParser)

    When using a SAX parser, parsing fails when there is a " in the node content. How can I resolve this? Do I need to convert all " characters? In other words, anytime I have a quote in a node: <node>characters in node containing "quotes"</node> That node gets butchered into multiple character arrays when the Handler is parsing it. Is this normal behaviour? Why should quotes cause such a problem?   • Trouble with LINQ databind to GridView and RowDataBound

    Greetings all, I am working on redesigning my personal Web site using VS 2008 and have chosen to use LINQ to create by data-access layer. Part of my site will be a little app to help manage my budget better. My first LINQ query does successfully execute and display in a GridView, but when I try to use a RowDataBound event to work with the results and refine them a bit, I get the error: The type or namespace name 'var' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) This interesting part is, if I just try to put in a var s = "s"; anywhere else in the same file, I get the same error too. If I go to other files in the web project, var s = "s"; compiles fine.   • Having trouble getting MEF imports to be resolved

    This is sort of a continuation of one of my earlier posts, which involves the resolving of modules in my WPF application. This question is specifically related to the effect of interdependencies of modules and the method of constructing those modules (i.e. via MEF or through new) on MEF's ability to resolve relationships. I then used an [Import] to try to get MEF to resolve that for me. Can anyone explain how the two ways I have approached MEF here are flawed? I have been in the dark for so long that instead of reading about MEF and trying different suggestions, I've added MEF to my solution and am stepping into the code. The part where it looks like it fails is when it calls partManager.GetSavedImport(). For some reason, the importCache is null, which I don't understand. All the way up to this point, it's been looking at the part (Window1) and trying to resolve two imported interfaces -- IError and IPlugin. I would have expected it to enter code that looks at other assemblies in the same executable folder, and then check it for exports so that it knows how to resolve the imports...

  • trouble with boost::filesystem::wrecursive_directory_iterator

    I'm trying to write a program to help me manage my iTunes library, including removing duplicates and cataloging certain things. At this point I'm still just trying to get it to walk through all the folders, and have run into a problem: I have a small amount of Japanese music, where the artist and/or album is written in Japanese characters. Because of how iTunes arranges things in its library the directories contain these characters. "shouldn't be a problem, though."   • Trouble setting up php Zend include path

    Hello, I am trying to set up a PHP path to my Zend Framework. I am very confused on how to do this. My Zend Framework is located at the following location on my server: amazon/ZendFramework-1.10.3-minimal I am going to be creating a couple of php files in the amazon/ directory that will require the Zend Framework. My include path is: include("ZendFramework-1.10.3-minimal/library/Zend/Service/Amazon.php"); This works, however inside of Amazon.php is the line require_once 'Zend/Rest/Client.php'; ...and then Client.php has more dependencies set up like that, and so on. How can I set up my include path so that Amazon.php and Client.php (and so on) can correctly reference the location of the Zend Framework? Thanks

    I've installed the newest Android SDK using eclipse's software updates feature to hit the resource at https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/. After installing it, it seems like the SDK is integrated into Eclipse, but when I try to create a new project with a single blank activity in it, I get the following error: [2009-06-06 11:41:24 - TestProject] no classfiles specified [2009-06-06 11:41:24 - TestProject] Conversion to Dalvik format failed with error 1 This is using eclipse version 3.4.2 running on top of Mac OS 10.5.7 on a 32 bit processor. Is this a misconfiguration on my part? Have I missed a part of the installation?

    I am using Native code to render OpenGL in Android and I get periodic errors that look like this: ERROR/IMGSRV(1435): frameresource.c:610: WaitUntilResourceIsNotNeeded: PVRSRVEventObjectWait failed ERROR/IMGSRV(1018): sgxif.c:124: WaitForRender: PVRSRVEventObjectWait failed ERROR/IMGSRV(1435): osfunc_um.c:318: PVRSRVEventObjectWait: Error 13 returned Once these errors come up I have to restart the phone or the rendering won't start again correctly. I have done a lot of web searching and I can't find out what could be the cause of these errors. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

    I can't seem to get an animated transition between line graphs when I pass in a new set of data. Not sure what I am missing? does it have something to do with using an array of objects instead of just a flat array of numbers as data?
