    I need to create an automated report in a spreadsheet format. Unfortunately, There seems to be an easy way to create these reports using OpenOffice Calc, but upper managements wants them in MS Excel format. As these reports are to be created and emailed automatically, is there a nice, command-line way to convert between these file formats?

    I quite often use the handy subnet calculator here: http://www.subnet-calculator.com/ Which I find very useful. However, does anyone have details/a link for a version of this that offers similar functionality but is in an excel spreadsheet. I could then include it in a worksheet and I wouldn't have to keep visiting the website. Also handy if I don't have internet access - which can often be the case when I need it. Many thanks

    In my spreadsheet, I'm trying to figure out a way to collapse rows in a specific column. Right now, if I do Data - Group - Group... - Rows, it'll collapse the entire row. I want to collapse rows only in a specific column.     In a Google Spreadsheet, is it possible to take the sum of only the colored cells in a column? I have a column of numbers, where I've changed the background color of some of the cells to blue. All of the other cells in the column have the regular white background. Is it possible to create a formula to add up only the colored cells in the column? Thanks so much!

    How can I pair two rows on a spreadsheet, so that for each data entry I can sort the matrix but the pair of rows moves as a single list of data, retaining the structure of the two rows?     Hey everyone, I'm trying to import some csv data into google docs spreadsheet. The data I am entering is all made up of 16 digit integers. About 90% of them are imported perfectly but 10% are rewritten automatically into scientific notation. How do I turn this feature of. I just want all the numbers kept in their standard form.   • Are there any good utilities out there to create datastore / LUN diagrams for VMware ESX 3.5?

    We are working to get a large (inherited) VMware ESX 3.5 environment with multiple SANs under control. We first need to create a diagram / Excel spreadsheet / whatever that explains what VM is stored where. This is a rather time-consuming task to complete by just using the VI client to copy down everything. Is there a good script or tool out there that can do this for us? I would like to see: VM Name, LUN, Actual file-name/location of VMDK/VMX, Power State, Host Any ideas?

    Google docs doesn't have a database app (yet) but can anyone point me to a good, free, online substitute? It'll be for simple things like a database of my DVD collection and I'd want to be able to import/export using standard file formats and add/edit fields of existing databses. By the way, I'm not interested in using a spreadsheet as a database.

Is there some checkbox, configuration option, or function key I have accidentally pressed or need to press?

Basically, I'd like to take some basic performance data from each one, through such into a spreadsheet, and compare. CPU load, RAM load, whatever... The problem is, that some cell get their content included on quotation marks: 1,1,"I don't want quote",Mee too but I'm lucky,1 To avoid this issue, I usually re-edit the field on google document until the export excludes the quotation marks (I don't know why or when they are included). I've tried with format but apparently it doesn't help. What should I do?

I do not want to use VBA, I was successful in sequencing the protection steps, but now can not repeat the process. There has to be a way to use the protect sheet "delete rows" check box and locked cells together to enable this process

The issue is that I'd like this to update based on the filter that I have applied. I'm using the SUBTOTAL function to do this for other functions such as SUM and AVERAGE.     I have a spreadsheet with several cells in one column. Each cell has identical conditional formatting: In 1 cell value equal to ='Y' In 2 cell value equal to ='N' In 3 cell value equal to ='?' What I would like to achieve is, if all 7 cells contain "Y" as the option then a separate cell will display "Yes", but if any of the cells contain "N" as the selection then the separate cell will display "NO". How can I achieve this?

    I'm trying to prevent people from modifying (most) of my spreadsheet while still alowing them to use the sort function of the AutoFilter. What I've done so far is used the Worksheet_Change event and Application.Undo to automatically undo any values entered into cells that I don't want to be modified. This works great, except that it can't detect changes in formatting. Does anyone know of a means to trigger an event when the format (text/background color) of a cell is changed? Thanks!
