How can I create an automatically generated alteranate table row color ?

Good day, I've been trying to make this CSS code work: table.mytable { margin: 0; padding: 0; border: 0; font-size: 0.8em; border-collapse: collapse; } table.mytable td, table.mytable th { width: auto; padding: 2px 4px; vertical-align: top; } table.mytable th { color: #fff; background:url(images/header-bg.gif); text-align: left; } table.mytable tr.alternateColor { background-color:#E9F3FC; } well, it works, if I do write it manually. But as the tables are going to be generated thru asp.NET (Aspx) , which is not manually created- I'd like my table to generate the alternate rows. I've been trying to make this work with Javascript, but I can't figure it out and I believe this is a good resource site. I've been using a manual table with Adobe Dreamweaver cs4 as a test, but I have to put the class of "alternatecolors" in order to make them appear, and I can't do this normally.: Question is , can someone provide me a good Javascript that I would put in the header of the file, and actually help me out to make this work ? I think I'm burned...or maybe I can't see what others see quickly due to the amount of time I've spent. I just tried posting the code of my table here, but I couldn't get it well formatted and I got to run... I'm not using an 'id' on this table, but the class is 'mytable'. With NHibernate, how can I add a child object when updating a parent object?

I have a simple Parent/Child relationship between a Person object and an Address object. The Person object exists in the DB. After doing a Get on the Person, I add a new Address object to the Address sub-object list of the parent, and do some other updates to the Person object. Finally, I do an Update on the Person object. With a SQL trace window, I can see the update to the Person object to the Person table and the Insert of the Address record to the Address table. The issue is that, after the update is performed, the AddressId (primary key on the Address object) is still set to 0, which is what it defaults to when you first initialize the Address object. I have verified that when I do an Add, this value is set correctly. Is this a known issue when trying to add sub-objects as part of an NHibernate UPDATE? How do I change the application background color at run-time in a Flex 3.5 application?

I have a Flex 3.5 application that will serve multiple purposes, and as part of the visual changes that I'd like to make to indicate which mode the application is in, I want to change its background color. The pre is to be 80% of the containing element (which ends up being 80% of the window's width). In the event of overflow in the x dimension, I want scrolling. I did all this in the above CSS, and it almost works. The issue I am having is that the background colors of the list elements don't extend with the content. They seem to be capped to the original width of the pre and/or ol element as demonstrated in the following picture where I scroll all the way right as possible: I tinkered with the CSS for a while, but I cannot determine the root cause for this or the fix. WCF AuthenticationService in IIS7 Error

I have a WCF Server running on IIS 7 using default application pool, with SSL activate, the services is installed in a SBS Server 2008. I implement client application services with wcf and SQL 2005 for setting the access control in my application. The application run under windows vista and is make with WPF. In my developer machine the application and the WCF services run well, the IIS i'm use for the trials is the local IIS 7 and the database is the SQL Server 2005 database hosting in my server. I'm using Visual Studio Project Designer to enable and configure client application services. using https://localhost/WcfServidorFundacion. When i'm change the authentication services location to https://WcfServices:5659/WcfServidorFundacion and recompile the application, the following error show up. Message: The web service returned the error status code: InternalServerError. Details of service failure: {"Message":" Error while processing your request ","StackTrace":"","ExceptionType":""} Stack Trace: en System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse() en System.Web.ClientServices.Providers.ProxyHelper.CreateWebRequestAndGetResponse(String serverUri, CookieContainer& cookies, String username, String connectionString, String connectionStringProvider, String[] paramNames, Object[] paramValues, Type returnType) InnerException: System.Net.WebException Message="Remote Server Error: (500) Interal Server Error." How to set child unordered list position?

Hi folks. I have a nav bar with children unordered lists nested under the main navbar items. My problem is on the inner list, when I position absolute, the inner list is centered to the page, and when I position relative, it is positioning inline with the parent list. Populating array of input fields as alternate fields using jQuery UI datepicker

I've got the following query: ATable .GroupBy(x=> new {FieldA = x.FieldAID, FieldB = x.FieldBID, FieldC = x.FieldCID}) .Select(x=>new {FieldA = x.Key.FieldA, ..., last_seen = x.OrderByDescending(y=>y.Timestamp).FirstOrDefault().Timestamp}) results in: SqlException: Invalid column name 'FieldAID' x 5 SqlException: Invalid column name 'FieldBID' x 5 SqlException: Invalid column name 'FieldCID' x 1 I've worked out it has to do with the last query to Timestamp because this works: ATable .GroupBy(x=> new {FieldA = x.FieldAID, FieldB = x.FieldBID, FieldC = x.FieldCID}) .Select(x=>new {FieldA = x.Key.FieldA, ..., last_seen = x.OrderByDescending(y=>y.Timestamp).FirstOrDefault()}) The query has been simplified. The purpose is to group by a set of variables and then show the last time this grouping occured in the db. I'm using Linqpad 4 to generate these results so the Timestamp gives me a string whereas FirstOrDefault gives me the whole object which isn't ideal. Update On further testing I've noticed that the number and type of SQLException is related to the class created in the groupby clause. So, ATable .GroupBy(x=> new {FieldA = x.FieldAID}) .Select(x=>new {FieldA = x.Key.FieldA, last_seen = x.OrderByDescending(y=>y.Timestamp).FirstOrDefault()}) results in SqlException: Invalid column name 'FieldAID' x 5

I'm trying to work out how to iterate though a returned SimpleXML object. I'm using a toolkit called Tarzan AWS, which connects to Amazon Web Services (SimpleDB, S3, EC2, etc). I'm specifically using SimpleDB. I can put data into the Amazon SimpleDB service, and I can get it back. I just don't know how to handle the SimpleXML object that is returned. The Tarzan AWS documentation says this: Look at the response to navigate through the headers and body of the response. Note that this is an object, not an array, and that the body is a SimpleXML object. python NameError: name '<anything>' is not defined (but it is!)

Note: Solved. It turned out that I was importing a previous version of the same module. It is easy to find similar topics on StackOverflow, where someone ran into a NameError. But most of the questions deal with specific modules and the solution is often to update the module. In my case, I am trying to import a function from a module that I wrote myself. The module is named InfraPy, and it is definitely on sys.path. One particular function (called listToText) in InfraPy returns a NameError, but only when I try to import it into another script. Inside InfraPy, under if __name__=='__main__':, the listToText function works just fine. From InfraPy I can import other functions with no problems. Including from InfraPy import * in my script does not return any errors until I try to use the listToText function. How can this occur? How can importing one particular function return a NameError, while importing all the other functions in the same module works fine? Using python 2.6 on MacOSX 10.6, also encountered the same error running the script on Windows 7, using IronPython 2.6 for .NET 4.0 Thanks. If there are other details you think would be helpful in solving this, I'd be happy to provide them. As requested, here is the function definition inside of InfraPy: def listToText(inputList, folder=None, outputName='list.txt'): ''' Creates a text file from a list (with each list item on a separate line). How to name multiple versioned ServiceContracts in the same WCF service?

When you have to introduce a breaking change in a ServiceContract, a best practice is to keep the old one and create a new one, and use some version identifier in the namespace. If I understand this correctly, I should be able to do the following: [ServiceContract(Namespace = "http://foo.com/2010/01/14")] public interface IVersionedService { [OperationContract] string WriteGreeting(Person person); } [ServiceContract(Name = "IVersionedService", Namespace = "http://foo.com/2010/02/21")] public interface IVersionedService2 { [OperationContract(Name = "WriteGreeting")] Greeting WriteGreeting2(Person2 person); } With this I can create a service that supports both versions. This actually works, and it looks fine when testing from soapUI. However, when I create a client in Visual Studio using "Add Service Reference", VS disregards the namespaces and simply sees two interfaces with the same name. In order to differentiate them, VS adds "1" to the name of one of them. I end up with proxies called ServiceReference.VersionedServiceClient and ServiceReference.VersionedService1Client Now it's not easy for anybody to see which is the newer version. Should I give the interfaces different names? E.g IVersionedService1 IVersionedService2 or IVersionedService/2010/01/14 IVersionedService/2010/02/21 Doesn't this defeat the purpose of the namespace? Should I put them in different service classes and get a unique URL for each version?
