    I recently installed Ubuntu 12.04 alongside windows 7. It was working fine but now when I try to boot with ubuntu after the operating system choice screen I get this. Boot Error Message Try (hd0,0): NFTS5: No ang0 Try (hd0,1): NTFS5: No ang0 Try (hd0,2): NTFS5: No ang0 Try (hd0,3): Extended: Try (hd0,4): NTFS5: No ang0 Try (hd0,5): Extended: Try (hd0,5): EXT2: And when I press ctrl+alt+del it restarts the computer and if I chose to boot with ubuntu same thing happens again.     I installed Kubuntu 11.10 on top of Windows 7. Everything works fine. I tried to update 11.10 to 12.10 and I get error Code that 11.10 is outdated and not supported. Update stops. I downloaded 12.10 iso but there is no upgrade option, just install. How can I remove the 11.10 installation and install 12.10. (Without breaking my Windows 7 install.) I need dual boot option.     I am baking a new project management application at work and added a couple new tables to the database today. When I went into the console to bake the new models, they were not in the list... php /path/cake/console/cake.php bake all -app /path/app/ So I manually typed in the model name and I got a missing database table for model error. I checked and double-checked and the database table was named properly. Turns out that some files inside the /app/tmp/cache/ folder were causing Cake not to recognize that I had added new tables to my database. Once I deleted the cache files cake instantly recognized my new database tables and I was baking away! rm -Rf /path/app/tmp/cache/cake*

  • Graphical Error During Installation of Ubuntu 13.10 32bit

    In trying to install the latest version of Ubuntu, I made a bootable USB and proceeded to give it a shot. As it loaded, the upper half of the screen displayed staticy, multi-colored horizontal lines, but continued to boot into the installer. The installer appeared to be functional using the keyboard, but I was unable to proceed as the graphical display was a mismatched mosaic of the proper screen with no visible cursor. I'll try to edit in a photo later. Attempting the exact same USB on a different device (an old Asus Eee 1005HA) gave no such error and installed without a hitch.

    Using the Microsoft Symbol Server to obtain symbol debugging information is now much easier in VS 2010. Microsoft gives you access to their internet symbol server that contains symbol files for most of the .NET framework including the recently announced availability of MVC 2 Symbols.  SETUP In VS 2010 RTM, go to Tools –> Options –> Debugging –> General. Check “Enable .NET Framework source stepping” We get the following dialog box   This automatically disables “Enable My Code”   Go to Debugging –> Symbols and Check “Microsoft Symbol Servers”. You can selectively exclude modules if you want to.   You will get a warning dialog like so: Hitting OK will start the download process   The setup is complete. You are now ready to start debugging! DEBUGGING Add a break point to your application and run the application in debug mode (F5 shortcut for me). Go to your call stack when you hit the break point. Right click on a frame that is grayed out. Select “Load Symbols from” “Microsoft Symbol Servers”. VS will begin a one time download of that assembly. This assembly will be cached locally so you don’t have to wait for the download the next time you debug the app.   We get a one time license agreement dialog box You might see an error like the one below regarding different encoding (hopefully will be fixed).    Assemblies for which the symbols have been loaded are no longer grayed out. Double clicking on any entry in the call stack should now directly take you to the source code for that assembly. AFAIK, not all symbols are available on the MS symbol server. In cases like that you will see a tab like the one below and be given the option to “Show Disassembly”. Enjoy!     I had a working installation of WordPress, and I recently encountered an issue where when I tried to login to the back-end, the browser would redirect to the login URL of the previous domain WordPress was installed on. I fixed this by reinstalling WordPress, and I can now login to the backend, but any new posts I make, or old posts I have generate 404 errors. Additionally, if I try to navigate to any category page, I again receive a 404 error. I have looked at the wp_posts table of my database, and the GUID field each contains the correct domain name and URL structure. What should I be checking here? Site in question.

    I’ve been using the T4Toolbox to help generate my ASP.NET MVC models and scaffolding for a while now.  Another developer tried using my generator project last week and ran into troubles due to a breaking change around the RenderCore() and TransformText() methods in support for VS 2010.  If you upgraded to the latest version of T4Toolbox and receive a build error similar to the following, you are probably in the same boat: GeneratedTextTransformation.[Template].RenderCore(): no suitable method found to override We took the easy way out.  I had him uninstall the latest version of T4Toolbox and install version 9.7.25.1 which my templates were initially coded against.  For now, that worked great, but it sounds like I’ll be doing some rework of the 20+ templates in my project to support Visual Studio 2010 when we migrate later this month.

  • Ubuntu 13.10 gives "Package 'libapache2-mod-auth-mysql' has no installation candidate" error

    I'm trying to install my LAMP environment on Ubuntu 13.10 using my script file that can be found here. That script worked for Ubuntu 12.04, Ubuntu 13.04 but when I try it on Ubuntu 13.10 it gives the following error: E: Package 'libapache2-mod-auth-mysql' has no installation candidate Any idea on how to fix this? Note, I do want this package to be installed. EDIT: I've found out now that the reason this could not be installed was because it needed the following two packages that were missing: libmysqlclient16 and apache2.2-common. Do I just need to install these packages or were they removed for a reason?
