• Asus F5N laptop built-in card reader driver problem

  I have an Asus F5N X50N-AP011C. I have manually installed Windows 7 x64 on it, replacing the original Windows Vista. It also automatically installed a card reader driver, but it can no longer read xD cards. The driver shows in the device manager as "Generic- xD/SDMMC/MS/Pro USB device" (under "drives" - and a drive is also shown in Windows Explorer). The same card reader once used to work with xD cards. I also tried to manually install drivers from this website: http://www.station-drivers.com/page/realtek.htm - the RTS 5158 but it didn't work (it shows as USB device in device manager, but not as a drive in Windows Explorer). Does anyone know what card reader my model has built-in? (I think it's the 5158 but I don't know how to verify that - there's also no hint in the System Information tool, only the driver name is listed under "drives") how it is connected internally? if there is a better Windows 7 x64 driver?

• Ignore Apache Default Server?

  I run several vhosts on our Apache server. Whenever browse the server using either it's IP address or some other name that resolves to that address, but where a virtual host entry doesn't exist for that address I get the generic Apache test page: I want to change the server so I can specify a Virtual Host to see by default instead of the Apache Default Server page. I don't want to just modify the Default Server page either. I just need to be able to specify a Virtual Host to use instead. I added the following Virtual Host: <VirtualHost _default_:*> DocumentRoot /vhosts/default/public </VirtualHost> What I am reading is supposed to take priority over all other Virtual Hosts as the default. But this doesn't seem to take priority over the Apache Default Server/Host. What do I need to do here?

• Application got shut down in WinXP if I close the 2nd window of that application. [closed]

  I'm using WinXP and here is my question: I run an application, such as Chrome, there would be one app in the task bar, and it's fine. Suppose a new window of Chrome opened(so there would be 2 window and 2 in the task bar), and when I close that,the 2nd one, the whole application just shutdown. And so does chrome, firefox, evernote, Becky!(the email client), even TortoiseSVN. So I think there should be a generic problem cause these applications shutdown, such as the platform - WinXP. Please give me some advice or hint, anything comes to your mind would be helpful!

• Magento get loaded collection

  Hey guys I got an issue in magento when listing products. $_productCollection = array(); $key = 'product_collection_'.Mage::app()->getRequest()->getRequestUri(); $_productCollection = Mage::helper('cache')->getDataInCache($key); if (empty($_productCollection)) { $_productCollection=$this->getLoadedProductCollection(); Mage::helper('cache')->setDataInCache($key,$_productCollection,'front_end_collection'); } That's my code, i'm loading the collection and saved in cache, the problem is that I added new products from the admin panel but they are not showing up in the listing. I have refreshed cache, reindex all the data and checke that the products were in stock. Also check the visibility because i understand that the collection gets just the visible products, am i correct? I'm using magento enterprise 1.9 I'm new in magento and i'm having troubles understanding how the Collections works, i hope somebody can help me. Thanks

  Hi All I'm very confused about this issue and can't to underestand it.In the Enumerable Documentation, I readed this: that implement System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable and some methods like Select() return IEnumerable that we can use from other methods like Where() after using that.for example: names.Select(name => name).Where(name => name.Length > 3 ); but Enumerable doesn't inherits from IEnumerable and IEnumerable doesn't contain Select(),Where() and etc too... have i wrong ? or exists any reason for this?

• Ubuntu server header timeout

  I'm running Ubuntu Linux 12.04.1 Kernel and CPU Linux 3.2.0-30-generic on x86_64. Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E31230 @ 3.20GHz, 8 cores I recently came across this problem. I'm using apache2/php latest and when I run $url_headers = @get_headers($url); Inside PHP it would normally take milliseconds to within a second to get the headers. Now recently it can take up to 15 seconds or even timeout. It has worked great for over a year and recently started doing this. I'm not sure how to go about fixing it, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I want to change Text property of each control. Because HyperLink doesn't implement (why??) • Is there good FAT driver for FUSE? (Lightweight, not mountlo)

  FUSE filesystem list show some FuseFat and FatFuse. Both are old, FatFuse is read-only , FuseFat is non-buildable and probably depends on glib. Now I'm using mountlo for the task (mounting USB drives in generic way without root access or suid things (except of fusermount itself)), but it looks too big for such task. Using FUSE to mount external storage devices is good both for security and for flexibility reason: the kernel sees only block reads and writes while actual code that deals with filesystem details runs with user privileges, allowing user to use custom filesystems and preventing from kernel filesystem exploits. Is there good vfat FUSE driver?

• Can I use applescript to click buttons in background?

  Sorry for this generic and probably bad-written question. I've never programmed in applescript, but I'm quite familiar with other coding language. I'm in the need of clicking on 2 sequential button inside the lobby of a software (when you click the first a popup appears and we should click 'ok'). However things are a little bit more complicated then this because: 1) the lobby of this program isn't in foreground: it's covered by other windows opened. (I don't have experience so I don't know if this represent a problem). 2) there should be a timer and the program should click this button at regular intervals. Is this feasible with applescript?

  I am coming back to an old Google App Engine project on which I saw a bug. During this lag, I have been upgrading my AppEngine SDK and is now set at 1.3. When I try to run the same project again, I see the following exception: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com.google.apphosting.api.ApiProxy$Environment.getDefaultNamespace()Ljava/lang/String; at com.google.appengine.api.NamespaceManager.get(NamespaceManager.java:56) at com.google.appengine.api.memcache.MemcacheServiceImpl.setNamespace(MemcacheServiceImpl.java:181) at com.google.appengine.api.memcache.MemcacheServiceImpl.(MemcacheServiceImpl.java:145) at com.google.appengine.api.memcache.MemcacheServiceFactory.getMemcacheService(MemcacheServiceFactory.java:25) The line causing the problem is: CacheManager.getInstance().getCacheFactory().createCache(Collections.emptyMap()); (It is the same line as suggested by the AppEngine documentation to create a memcache object.   Possible Duplicate: Prevent mail being marked as spam I have an Ubuntu server that I want to be able to send out several thousand emails each containing a generic header and an unique pdf attachment containing an invoice. What I want to know is what would be the best way to accomplish this? Also, are there any other programs I need to install such as anti-virus / verification tools? I would like to be able to know what the procedures for this normally are as I would prefer that the emails are not send to the junk folder of the clients receiving the emails. • Dispatcher.CheckAccess() isn't working from my console application, is there a better way.

  I wrote an application in WPF / VB and separated the business logic and UI into different projects. The business layer uses a serial port which runs on a different thread, Now that I'm trying to write a command line interface for the same business layer, it seems to fail when .Invoke() is called. (no error, just doesn't work) I'm pretty sure the reason I had to add in checkaccess and .invoke was because I have collections that would be changed during processing the serial port data and wanted the NotifyCollectionChanged to be handled by WPF data binding. (The reason I'm not 100% sure is because it was months ago I wrote that part and it all worked great from the GUI, now adding the console app has made me rethink some of this) I would like my business layer to run these processes on the thread they were created, I need this to work from both my GUI version and the command line version. Am I misusing the Dispatcher in my business layer? Is there a better way to handle an event from the serial port, and then return to the main thread to processes the data?

  I load a piece of html which contains something like: <em> < input type="text" value="Untitled" name="ViewTitle" id="ViewTitle" runat="server"> </em> into my control. The html is user defined, do please do not ask me to add them statically on the aspx page. On my page, I have a placeholder and I can use LiteralControl target = new LiteralControl (); // html string contains user-defined controls target.text = htmlstring to render it property. My problem is, since its a html piece, even if i know the input box's id, i cannot access it using FindControl("ViewTitle") (it will just return null) because its rendered as a text into a Literal control and all the input controls were not added to the container's control collections. I definitely can use Request.Form["ViewTitle"] to access its value, but how can I set its value?

• 1TB HDD making strange noise (not a common one)

  I built a new PC some days ago, and everything seems perfect, except that the 1 TB HDD I cloned from my old 500 GB HDD is making a deep weird sound. First of all, every time I access the disk, I hear a deep sound, and when the PC is turning on, I hear some clicking (the rapid clicking is my mouse, I'm opening and closing folders to trigger the vibrating deep weird sound I'm describing). I'm using this 1TB disk for data mainly (I use a SSD as the OS). As background information, the disk is a seagate barracuda 7200 rpm which was RMAd and replaced with a refurbished one. Maybe the refurbished disks make these noises? should I worry about my data? (although the disk is working normal and passed a seagatetools short generic test? Thanks! • Are instance initializers good or bad?

  I personally quite like instance initializers - I use them to assign default values to things such as collections so when writing constructors I don't have to remember to assign them the same default values each time. It seems quite elegant to me - avoids annoying NPE's popping up and avoids duplicate code. A private method doesn't seem as nice because a) it can't assign values to final fields, b) it could be run elsewhere in code and c) the method still needs to be explicitly called at the start of each constructor. However, the flip side with others I have spoken to is that they're confusing, some people reading the code might not understand what they do or when they're called and thus they could cause more problems than they solve. Are proper use of these initializers something to be encouraged or avoided? Or is it an "each to their own" case?
