• SSL connection error during handshake on Windows Server 2008 R2

  I have a Windows 2008 R2 Server that runs a HTTPS Tunneling service. The software uses a certificate that is provided via the Windows certificate store. The certificate is located in the local computer private certificates. It supports server and client authentication with signing and keyencipherment. Cert chain The certificate chain looks fine. It's a Thawte SSL123 certificate.   I've just recently received my new MacBook Pro, and I've begun exploring Boot Camp; dual-booting Windows 7 Enterprise. I've heard chatter that there are some new Boot Camp drivers--newer than the ones that come with your OSX Show Leopard installation CD. But I'm having a hard time locating them. These updated drivers should fix a few issues with the trackpad, amongst other things. Can you guys point me in the right direction?

• NTFS External Drive takes too long to takes data in Mac ?

  I've an Seagate 500 GB external HD (NTFS). To read/write it on Mac (OSX 10.6.2) , I've tried MacFUSE and NTFS-3G to write my HD on Mac. Though I could be able to see the hard drive, it takes too long to see the contents like this is this normal ? also the data transfer takes too long time and the hard disk becomes too hot . Any suggestions are most welcome.

  Some OEM include energy saving apps that can switch off certain devices such as webcam or optical drive. Is there any brand-agnostic app out there that can do it? If the list of disabled device is customizable, it would be useful too for mitigating DMA attack (disabling Firewire, PCMCIA, SDIO, Thunderbolt, etc). Even better if it can recognize lock/logoff event, to mimic OSX behavior in mitigating the DMA attack.

  We have a production environment configured with Puppet, and want to be able to set up a similar environment on our development machines: a mix of Red Hats, Ubuntus and OSX. As might be expected, OSX is the odd man out here, and sadly, I'm having a lot of trouble with getting this to work. I'm on a mac osx 10.7.2 Processor 2.26 GHz intel core 2 due I downloaded: mysql-5.5.18-osx10.6-x86_64.dmg I'm now at the point of setting the root password and when I type in: sudo: mysql_secure_installation it asks me to enter my password, then it says: sudo: mysql_secure_installation: command not found Any help would be appreciated. • Three formats? Why?

  I needed to download the Ruby Source recently from here and it says, "available in three formats" which are .tar.bz2, .tar.gz and .zip. Is there any reason that we need all three formats? At least on Linux and OSX I can do any of the three easily. On Windows, only zip is built-in, I think. Is there anything behind these preferences or is this just a religious battle?

• Disabling VLC's crash message

  I have a Mac Mini running videos on loop to display publicly, which occasionally crashes I think generally when other OSX functions kicking in. I have a script to detect when VLC is not running and reboot it, but there is often a system message on top "VLC crashed previously". Is there a way to disable this (I can find no option in VLC's advanced options), or perhaps to feed a 'Continue' response to it via Applescript?

• File shares for Mac users
